Midwest Trips

Recommended Posts

Anyone have any fun, under the radar golf trip destinations in the Midwest? I live in Chicago, and put on a 28 man Ryder Cup style tournament...looking for some options maybe 3-4 hours max from the City. An area with at least 36 holes close to each other is ideal, either with two courses at the same location or two separate facilities. We've done Lawsonia, Gull Lake, Quad Cities... thanks for any suggestions!

I never go to play it, but I drive by it a few times.  Hawks Head in South Haven. 2:30 it looks like with traffic currently.

I failed to read your 36 hole requirement, but I do believe there are more courses nearby.

Harbor Shores, the Champions Tour stop is 33 minutes away.  The area is known for wine too I believe.  It’s right on the water, so I imagine the food and accommodations would be pretty decent as well.

Check out Gull Lake Resorts in Michigan. They have villas onsite, located on the Gull Lake East course and a very short drive to both the North and South courses. The East/West courses, and North/South courses are located on the same premises, respectively, so you can keep the same cart and play 36 holes. Stoatin Brae is the 5th course, which is their nicer, top tier course.

Very nice facilities and courses, and super affordable.
