Great new thread. My son is 12 now, but started in group lessons at 5. Not too serious, just more for fun. Weekly for a month or two each year. His swing is a lot better than mine was at his age. He hits it farther too. I have avoided anything competitive other than the odd Father Son alternating shot fun Tournie once a year. Best advise I got. Always make it fun. An afternoon at the golf course should always be fun for them. Get them a milkshake or candy after you are done. If he’s not having fun, he usually grabs a laser to figure out how far my shots go. Interestingly he never has the right distance, always shorter! I think deep down he really likes the Father Son time!

I hit 20 drives after my Sim round yesterday. Hoping to get some data points. Unfortunately did not get the data emailed from my shots through the Foresight email, not sure why. Should have taken a pic or I would share it. Wasn’t driving it great yesterday. Was averaging around 240 carry adjusted at altitude. Drove it slightly more left than my customary fade which was weird. Probably more heal strike than flush. My friend borrowed my driver and was striping it 290 carry choking up on it, so I know it’s the user issue for me! I am Probably crossing over a little at the top on my back swing, but didn’t film myself so not certain about that. Will look at it again on Friday. Still hoping to play outdoors on Sunday. Not looking promising.

Good Morning! The weather is not much better. Will try to stay warm in preparation for the Forum weekly call. Hit the Sim yesterday. A few wayward drives but played decently. Looking forward to getting out when the course opens.

I thought this was a belated April Fools joke. But a little stunned you would hold the LIV Finals at this venue. Nothing against the venue, it’s just weird choice. Should be amusing watching Bryson trying to hit a ball on the green from the tee box on all par 4s and par 5s.

After getting more snow this week, I am having serious remorse for not signing up for this weekend in Kingsmill. What a serious mistake. Very envious.

I have both spiked and spikeless shoes. I rotate a few pairs since I find they wear better when rotated. I generally find that golf shoes aren’t made as durable as the older ones may be 5-7+ years ago. The really old leather spikes lasted 5 years for me.

You have to be joking! The Sun Day Red logo is really ugly and his old Nike TW stuff was a lot cheaper / better. I am definitely not buying it at this price point or at a lower price point. I would easily buy a couple of dozen Pro V1s instead. Tiger should really hire some high end expert logo and designer clothing experts to do this for him, since this looks amateurish at best.

I totally agree, I have never seen a driver break in that rear area (where you typically don’t see major impact much less damage), so I think it’s an anomaly that happens some times when you move to full production. I have been amazed seeing the photos from the testers how well the carbon face is wearing after repeated strikes. It looks much better than the original Stealth.

Can’t wait to see these Toura irons in detailed pics with this team of Forum club builders! The custom work you guys will do on these irons will be epic!

The Vokey call was great last week. The new SM10s look great with the newer grey colour. The great background info and the Q&A were awesome. i am really liking my current set of Vokeys. The SM9s and the SM Forged (from Asia) 46F, 52F and 56M. With the great MGS reviews, I had to try the MG3 60. So I don’t have a full set of Vokeys. It’s working well so far. I did buy a SM9 58K just in case.

I think the combo Titleist T-200 is hard to beat with the T-150 in the shorter irons. If money is not an issue, I would buy these with the Fujikura Axiom 105s. Since that's not the case, I am actually really happy with my stock Takomo 101Ts with KBS Tour Lites.

This is a great question. Your driver swing speed is really impressive. I still have my 3W in there. I used the 3W for tee shorts where driver would be too long and I can't carry the trouble, etc. I used to game 16.5 deg vs my current 15 deg. But I found the 15 deg has a great lower flight pattern, so I get less wind issues with it. I should really re think this part of the bag. You got me thinking about it.

For me it’s fairways hit since if I am losing a ball off the tee or in jail off the fairway, it impacts my score more than a three putt. I’m sure it’s not that way overall statistically, but it seems that way for me.
