If you live in MA, I can let you take my Alphard V2 for a spin.

I also tried a box of these for a week or two and I watched my scores go up. If you have any kind of side spin, they'll zip offline more than I would have expected them to and found myself in quite a few precarious situations. Irons, I found them sometimes to be too long, randomly. Same club, same distance out, sometimes I'd be on the green, sometimes I'd be over it and have to chip back to the green. Putting, about the same, a little clicky but not enough to turn me off to them. Going back to the MTB Black, rounds are back to what I'm used to and the ball is in play a lot more off the tee, and no surprises with randomly being over greens. Shooting low 80s, high 70s and went to mid-high 80s (with a round in the 90s) with the TR, and then back to low 80s, high 70s with MTB Black. They're not for me and my swing.

Football, Tennis. Baseball. Soccer. Volleyball. All played on properties/stadiums that have areas within the confines of the greater stadium/property that are designated "OB" once a ball touches the ground, but are still "part of the property" right? (Can only catch/kick a ball outside of them if the ball is still in the air...). In golf, the ball is always on the ground when you get to it, you'll never have the chance to hit it while it's still in the air when you arrive to it. Same rules as these other sports apply with the OB markers on a golf course. The markers are placed, and considered OB, even if within the wholly owned stadium/property. They are all playing by the same rules when you actually think about it. Red stake? Same as hitting the foul pole in a baseball stadium, or the end zone pylon in football. Hitting the outside of the net post in tennis, and having it stay in. THOSE are inbounds. White stake? Hitting the inside of the post in tennis and having the ball stay in/volleyball. On or outside any of the white lines. Edit: At least in golf, if any part of your ball is outside the extent of the OB markers, it's still in play. But, part of the drawback is the marker, might be in your way, and that's wholly OB and cannot be touched. (Soccer: the corner posts are in the way of the corner kick, have to navigate around them.)

" And that pic with the ball was quoting Golfspy_CG2, so he should get a notification, and also see both the pic, and the quote about the calipers. So, not really sure why you had to say, again, what I already said, that you need calipers... Just to be clear, you need calipers. And maybe he's still go the ball to measure. Now, if you're upset, re-read all the above, but with a Monty Python attitude. Hopefully, you'll laugh. Words on pages sucks. It's off by my eye, and I looked at it in photoshop, and checked opposite sides with the ruler tool, thickest parts. Still have the cut ball? Take some calipers to it...

As someone that got 2 sleeves to test, they do spin more. I am a drop hop stop with V1X and other balls (and that's what happened when I would drop a V1X using same club, same greens, same day when testing last week in Boca), but these? I was able to get backwards spin on the green. Like many feet worth. I actually had to go beyond the pin on many shots for it to spin back after landing in the middle, and having them roll back to the front, or roll off (or into the traps) sometimes. 4 birds on the back once I figured THAT out. My brother wasn't too happy... yet said this is the best he'd seen me play. I'll take it after 35 years playing golf with him!

Is it me, or does that look a bit off? 2-4 o'clock shallow, 8-10 o'clock thick?

I played these in FL last week after also getting 2 sleeves. Compared to current V1x and MTBx on some holes over 3 rounds. Off driver, good control and distance and didn't spin much. But... on greens with approach irons and wedges? I spun back many, many shots, that it took me until the mid of the front 9 on last round to play behind the pin and let it spin back to the pin. I feel these now spin a lot more than the 1Vx with approach. And once I found that out on my last round? 4 birds on the back 9. To say my brother was incredulous is an understatement. LOL Also, if the OP could change the title to AVX and not AVS, might come up on searches more.

I see a ball from another golf forum... which I also have in my ball rack (not a truvs collector, but have that and a ball from the 1st run of shamrock). Went on the tour of the facility with them the year after they launched the chromesoft (Sept 2016). I remember them only having 4, maybe 5 machines doing the printing and at the time it was just the soccerball pattern (remember the Japan only colors too, and some other test multi-color patterns), and the forum ball was one of the few "logo" runs they tested (which we all received a box). Pretty much everyone there from the tour said "huuuuge market" to do other brands/logos... which at the time they really weren't set up to do, and weren't sure it would work with the few machines, but were testing the waters. I remember talking to one of them and said "would be a mistake not to". I've heard they have many more machines now due to the demand of the regular balls, with a few just for custom logo runs.

Going for a few weeks of R&R and astonished by the 25%+ increase in all the greens fees across the board. Yikes.

I play it every 2-3 years when I head down there every Oct. Not in the rotation this year, but always fun. That 18th hole... I put one in the water on my approach shot, just short of the green, and cost me a sub-70 round. *sigh* --kC

Have fun. Playing that course is like playing almost any tree lined course in new england. Small greens. The average green size is 3,700 sq feet at HT. Where the more average green size for most courses on tour is around 6,600 sq feet. (Some 6400sq feet at Augusta avg) HT requires precision to navigate around strategically planted/placed mossy trees, to only arrive at some of the smallest greens on tour, which is why many tour pros skip this event (using the masters as an excuse I feel... going from greens that are 2x the size to small, missing greens will skew their stats....) I'm there every Oct for a few weeks.

Boeing has been involved with the tournament since 2011 on a 10 year contract which ends this year.

Yeah, no thanks. Don't need 'em. My wife says otherwise, "get the bright ones! I'll go through them!" I turned around, opened a cabinet... "Oh." Donate them to the local school teams or youth programs.

I'll walk when I can. I have the Alphard V2 and it's been a game changer for me. Walking upright, not pushing my cart up hills, I don't feel tired anymore. I rode last weekend at a VERY hilly course with long traverses between holes and kind of happy I did - funny part is carts were included, but the starter told us as we were teeing off, no one beforehand... "cart path only", I would have walked!

Many courses on the cape never close for the winter.
