Fellow testers, anybody still using these? I've been so happy with the Tour X that I have almost fully switched over to it. I still have some Snell MTB-X that I had already purchased but man, I've played some good golf with these Maxfli balls! In my review I said that I would continue to play the Snell but every time I put the Maxfli in play I'm playing great and I love the accuracy I seem to have. Maybe it's me just improving but I feel that I find the fairway more often with the Maxfli and I wonder if them being center of gravity balanced has anything to do with it.

I played them all last season after testing. Plan is to put them up against the Snell MTBX and Bridgestone Tour BX this season and pick one to continue to game.

I found  it very interesting that many of you had issues with the Tour ball. I only had one shot roll out and it was probably due to the ball hitting the apron in front of the green. I played 18 with the Tour on Sunday and shot a 69. I didn't have the kind of problems some of you have noted. It was actually from the same sleeve I used in testing. Nope, I didn't lose any of the balls yet.

There are probably a lot of variables to it. If the flight path had a strong angle of descent, the tour held ok for me, even on hard quick greens. But when i hit lower flighted balls to stay out of wind or what not, they did not hold as well. Hitting into greens with a hybrid or long iron, basically a guarantee i was chipping back on. If the tour x hit the green from from any shot, it stayed almost every time. That very well could be me and my swing, but its what i observed 🤷‍♂️

Oh, and i lost most of them 🤣

It’s interesting that some testers get higher flight off the Tour and some off the X. Would love to see someone do a Trackman or Quad session and compare height and spin rates

Its quite possible that its just random inconsistencies in my swing at the times im playing the tour. I played in a constant 14mph wind the other day. I felt like i had a harder time hitting knock downs with the tour than the tour x. And the wind didnt seem to effect the tour x as much when i did kite it. So it may not necessarily be that it flights higher as i just couldnt keep it down when i wanted.
I also know that today (mild wind) i played the tour on the front and hit a lot of front fringes with very steep descent angles. Didnt happen with the tour x, even into the wind.
For the record, im nit picking a bunch. They both perform well for me and pretty similar. Gonna keep playing these things for a while. May switch to Maxfli 🤯

  4. Played another round today. I find that inside 120 or so they both hold well. Only issues ive had holding greens are 140/180. The tour doesnt check as well for me unless i really hit a great ball, the x checks better on slight miss strikes at those yards i FEEL. The tour seems to launch higher which helps hold unless your trying to hit knock downs outta the wind, then i cant hold as well. But not bad. I could easily play either ball but im still leaning towards the extra distance im seeing on the X.

side note. Played 6 rounds in the last 7 days. Its been pretty windy the last week and i keep playing hazard heavy courses. Lost a few tuesday. Got a case of the “dont loose this ball”’s this weekend. Grabbed some more on my way home. Gotta make sure i dont run out before i finish this test 🤣🤣🤣

I can’t really figure out why. I’ve only seen it happen when I really really flush one and pinch it off the mat surface. Almost like it compresses into it. I’ve seen it happen with Z-Stars too. Maybe the type of paint?

Yeah ive had other balls do it also. Just never correlated it to the mat till you mentioned it. Typically only with wedges also. Even though it was leaving paint marks, the balls werent in bad shape. The durability is solid on these. I smoked a cart path today with a ball off my driver, left a mark but not even rough really.

Not to step on toes here but I have been using the tours for awhile and only see paint come off when hitting off of mats.

Step away! I have no idea what im doing here. I was hitting off a mat. I have seen paint come off on course, once with these tonight actually, but not nearly as much now that ya mention it. Any insight as to why that is? I couldnt get the bridgestone to do it either way. I know that they wouldnt do it if i caught them fat.

  7. On kid duty today. While they were napping i figured id do a little durability test. Hit each ball 35 times, full swing wedge. Tried to tear the covers off. Bridgestone Tour BX, Maxfli Tour, and Maxfli Tour X. All balls held up well to ok in my opinion. Bridgestone was best durability, followed by Tour X, then Tour. The tour actually got a hairline crack. But i cant feel it so may just be paint crack? Hit it about 10 times with a driver and couldnt make it worse. Maxfli were both leaving paint/cover on my wedge face. Could not get the Bridgestone to do that no mater how well i struck it. For as much white was left on my club i was impressed at how well the Maxfli held up. Does the “white” transfer to club face equate to more spin????7E039E78-E658-44F7-9DFD-D3F2E5B8EFD0.jpeg.bd8f5476f25aa361c35a599f710fa76a.jpeg00CA88EE-4D58-4805-8832-FC7A577658C6.jpeg.1360d329d0cbaa0514172d1c31f2f00d.jpeg

  8. @Josh Ross couple questions. Playing around putting on the “home green today” and i thought of a few questions for you about your win the other day with the maxfli. Do you know how many putts you had? If so hows that compare to a “normal” round? Do you usually use the alignment line? Did you with the maxfli that day?

I dont usually use an alignment line as i struggle to use lines successfully. I ran a 100 or so putts today and i got used to trusting the lines on the ball. I found it more time consuming to line up at 12’ than the Tour BX i play, but it seemed more accurate.

  9. Played 36 decent holes today with the Maxflis. Didnt take any pics cause we were a little under the gun in a random foursome first round and spaced it the second round. Played 18 with each ball and, no BS, lost each ball on the 18th both rounds so i couldn't get a durability picture. Told myself to take pic before on the second round and forgot, heat and humidity got to me. Both the Tour and Tour X i managed to play one ball for 17 holes and out of sand 4 or 5 times each. They both showed virtually no damage. Durability is good or better id say. 98-102 mph driver swing speed. Compared to the Bridgestone Tour BX i typically game these are my feelings. I feel like the Maxfli Tour is about the same distance, maybe a little shorter. But i had to really try to get them to hold greens from 130-180, was fine close. I FEEL like the Maxfli Tour X plays a little further than the Bridgestone Tour BX. Occasionally it would come out super hot and too far. I had little issue holding greens from 130-180 with the tour x. Cant compare ball trajectory or flights as it was super windy today and i was hitting a lot of knockdowns and kitting to play the wind. After 27 holes with each, id have zero problem playing either ball at their price point. Tour X has a slight lead for me.

  10. Played a round with them today. Front 9 Maxfli Tour, Back Tour X. I Played like trash, will need a better round for a more finite opinion. Based on today though, the X suits me a little better i think. I believe its a harder ball which i like. Soft balls feel spongy and slow to me. I like both off the putter. The tour doesnt feel too soft off the putter and the Tour X doesnt feel too hard.

  11. Would love to test this thing out. Have a net currently thats a pain to set up and move. Would like to easily go from inside to outside or take it to friends places, mine sucks for that.
