  1. Happy Friday MGS Forum Members!!! The winter is certainly starting to take its toll across the country, and with that - Golf Opportunities are more and more limited. I saw that Central Washington received snow earlier this week, as did other northern states across the country. As will probably be the case over the next few months... participation will be lower than previous months in the MGS Forum Member VWCT... but we will keep the weekly event alive for those that are able to get a round in here or there. This week, we currently have 9 rounds posted, and I know the weekend will bring more golf and scores for the leaderboard!! Also this week, we rolled out the new "Post Score" feature, and it has been working very well, and we will continue to improve and enhance it as we head through "Season 1" of the VWCT and into "Season 2" this coming spring. As a helpful reminder on how to use the "Post Score" tool, I offer the following. Additionally, I will work to add these comments right in the form so it is more intuitive when you are posting scores: One thing to remember... you don't need to post your net score or your net score to par in the form above (unless you want to talk about it in your comments section) - those numbers will be automatically calculated based on the other answers given above. Have a GREAT weekend everyone. Play Often - Post Often And if you can't get out to play - be sure to check out the PGA Tour at the Houston Open at Memorial Park GC on TV (I can almost see the course from my office window... and I can most certainly see the traffic from the event!!).
  2. Thanks Kenny! Now if I can just figure out how to play 18 holes like that in the same day!! haha.
  3. Glad you are getting a quick refund... but it isn't about the money sometimes... you hand selected those shafts for specific purpose - based on a unique stock of "1 of 1" items, that you now have to re-source... if you are lucky enough to find them. That is the part that drives me crazy. It isn't like they can just go pull those same items off the shelf so you have what you ordered. Sorry this happened
  4. I am Humbled by the service and dedication of those who are serving or have served to protect our country. Thank you all for fighting to protect our democracy and the rights of all American citizens.
  5. Unfortunately, I have experience with the newer model of the T-200, so I don't have direct experience with this specific club. But, even in my version of the T-200, the back cap can be clicky when tapped on. But not from the face, as you are describing. Does this happen only on the 4 iron for you? It could be a construction issue - as @cnosil mentioned... a weight or other "under the hood" component coming loose and rattling around. I would reach out to Titleist customer service - they have been extremely helpful to me in the past. If nothing else they may be able to give you contacts for authorized Titleist service locations that you may be able to communicate with (not sure how many actual locations there may be in New Zealand). My post isn't much help, but hope you are able to find the issue and get it corrected.
  6. Took the PRGR to the course for a quick evening 9. I was swinging a lighter club (see Otto-Phlex thread.... 45g "L" flex) which is different than the club I'm using for the swing challenge (65g "R" flex), but was surprised to see 96mph on the radar on one drive and several others at 95mph. The part that surprised me was getting decent speed on the course, hitting a ball - opposed to no ball trying to swing all out. Now the few mph increase may be completely related to the lighter club weight... but knowing what every LM at every range and fitter has shown me over the past year... those are new numbers for me.
  7. I continue to have good results from the driver... the real question is... why haven't I pulled the trigger through the rest of my bag? So, how was the dispersion of the 7 iron compared to your previous shaft?
  8. Date 11/11/2022 Course Name Willow Fork CC Gross Score 72 Course Handicap 3 Gross Over/(Under) 0 Net Score to Par -3 Net Score 69 Net Birdies or better 5 Longest Drive 291 Just returned from a quick 9 and my second evening 9 of the week. Why is it easy to string 9 holes of good play together, but playing 18 holes is a recipe for disaster?? Earlier this week, I shot +1 37 (two bogeys, one birdie) on the front 9. Tonight, My driver was on fire... left myself with wedges in on all but one par three, and that is only because it is a long dogleg left... still had a 7 iron in and stuck it to 3 feet. Ended -1 35 (one silly bogey on a par three) and 2 birdies. 8/9 GIRs (silly par 3 ). Even par for the combined 18 holes. In other news... swinging the Otto-Phlex shaft in my TSR3, and placing my PRGR radar down on the tee... I reached 96mph on one drive and 95mph on a few others. With some help from downhill slopes, I had 2 drives that measured 291.
  9. My name above @GolfSpy_BOS on the leaderboard is all the prize I need
  10. I'm guilty of that as well. I really need to set a recurring timer to force myself into the time structure. Standing with the club or stick in my hand... 90 seconds feels like a half hour... haha.
  11. Yeah... everyday for me...haha. But good suggestion. I do work through stretching and working up to a full swing prior to my speed protocol - with the radar measuring my Driver speed just before starting (which is where my beginning driver numbers come from in each session), but I may need to warm up more to your comment Andy. I also need to be better about giving myself a little break inside the sessions. I use the time it takes to swap out the weights as my "rest" but it may need to be a little longer, especially between weight changes.
  12. Those are some impressive gains VG!!! Thanks for the encouragement!!
  13. FINALLY!!! an advantage to my slow swing speed!!!
  14. By the way... I chose a modified Superspeed protocol for my own use. My knees were not doing well with the RypStick protocol. I may try that protocol again after using this protocol 6-8 weeks.
  15. Just getting my legs under me on this challenge (pun intended). Not sure what the data means yet. Still trying figure out how to remove the governor on swinging fast... seems like it should be easier than it is. All that said, I'm seeing some gains... probably more about learning how to swing fast than building the muscles to support a faster swing at this point... it will be an interesting journey. Interestingly, after my baseline swings... I haven't been able to match my average with the beginning swings of each session yet. But I can see the protocol working as I increase the top speed with the driver from before using the RypStick in each session to after going through the protocol. As Bon Scott said... It's a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll.
  16. Ok, thanks for checking. I reported the issue... hopefully we can get it fixed. That would be frustrating to deal with...
  17. That is interesting... I do most of my forum "work" on my computer so I didn't realize it adjusted the size of the thread to the leaderboard... I'll reach out to our technical team with that concern/question... may be able to adjust the leaderboard to maximize the thread view. Thanks for the note!! Might just be an ipad or tablet issue?? I just checked on my phone and the thread is full size... I have to scroll to the right to see the full leaderboard data... but I'd rather that than what your are seeing...
  18. Thanks Rob, Yes, I expected the distances to be a little less due to the HL lofts, the controllable height and consistent distances is the win with these irons. FWIW, I am not far away from your distances Re: the posted score, if you enter the gross score, your course handicap, and the number of strokes you shot over par (in the gross over/under field) it should calculate your net score to par and overall net score. This is how I edited your posted score:
  19. I think this speaks to the quality of the membership on the MGS Forum... we are a pretty golf educated group as a whole.
  20. In my 27 years of marriage... that inside voice getting out is the cause of every fight we have ever had. haha. Well said Kenny!
  21. I practice A. - but on the course I unfortunately revert to B - though my intent is A.
  22. I played DG S300 most all my golfing life, until I was fit into my first set of irons early last year. T200's with Mitsubishi Tensei AV Blue Regulars. I hit them ok, but I never felt like I got into a groove with them. It wasn't until I was selected for the Nippon Tour115 shaft test that I realized how much they were impacting my game. The Nippon Tour115 really brought those T200's to life for me. I love the Tensei shafts in my woods... but something just wasn't working in the irons... maybe I needed a little more heft, or the profile of a steel shaft vs. a graphite shaft... but they just never worked for me. I did briefly test the MP20 HMB's with the Aerotech Steelfibre shafts prior to the T200's, and they were ok... nothing special for me. I am now using the stock KBS Max 85 MT shafts in my Stealth Irons, and those seem to be a pretty good fit for me as well. I spend some effort finding the right Driver shaft for my swing - it makes sense that making the effort to match iron shaft profiles can make a difference... I have been guilty in the past in overlooking that key part of my bag, and just accepting what is installed in the head I want. I have two avenues I will be pursuing in 2023. The first is getting fitted for one of the JPX 923 offerings, and will be taking the time to fully vet the shaft fitting during that process as well. The other is related to the Otto-Phlex thread, and how that concept might work in an iron set for me. But in the meantime, I have two iron sets with shafts I'm confident in... and a set of Mitsubishi Tensei shaft pulls that I'm not sure what to do with.
  23. Rain gloves in the the humidity is a great tip Cnosil.
  24. Big Hitter PM!!! Leading Drive in the clubhouse so far this week! Thanks for posting your score - glad you were able to find the form
