  1. The first thing I would do is understand why you are holding the event. If this is to raise as much money as possible, I wouldn't worry about sandbagging and focus on filling the event, side games, and keeping pace of play going. If you really want to keep people honest then you could do 2-man teams and pair 2 teams on each hole. To keep pace, I would make bogey max. To make money you can sell things like mulligans, putting string, gimmies etc. Is this a single day event and you are filling up 3 courses or is this over a couple days? I would also work with the Pro there as they should have some great ideas as well. Plus, since they will be scoring it you won't want to make it too complicated for them.
  2. I used translucent paint for the fill and paint needle bottles. The needle tips help with precise application. https://www.amazon.com/Dispensers-Applicator-Kit-Precisely-Dispensing/dp/B078VM7K66/ref=sr_1_5?crid=KBO7VCQDGW88&keywords=paint+needle+applicator&qid=1704030565&sprefix=Paint+nee%2Caps%2C94&sr=8-5
  3. Water with the Liquid IV packs mixed in. I will keep applesauce pouches and bars in my bag as well. If I know it’s going to be a long round I’ll pack a PB&J for the turn.
  4. Welcome to the forum. TPC Tampabay is a great track. They just finished a refurbish this summer. You can always try Saddlebrook as well. If you don’t mind a little drive you can look at Innisbrook, Dunedin cc, Westchase, and Fox Hollow. They will all be in good shape as it’s getting into season for us down here. If you are part of a private club at home you could always see if your pro will call any of the private clubs around here for a reciprocal. Tampa Palms, Hunters green up by where you are staying and there are more if you want to drive. like I said that time will be season here and everything gets crowded during that time. Let me know if you have any questions.
  5. I was very lucky to play regularly with a few LPGA tour players while in the industry. Watching them made me a better competitor. Like the others have said, if you take it as a learning experience and do not try to compete with them it’s very beneficial.
  6. For me it’s Footjoy 2xl in an athletic cut. I have had success with the Walter Hagen line as well. For reference I have a 50” jacket size.
  7. I agree that going and getting a fitting will save you a lot of time and money. Go with an open mind and ignore what the label says on the shaft. One companies x stiff may be another's stiff. Remember what works for driver may not be the best option for fairway woods.
  8. I am happy with my swing but still want to improve. After taking a 11 year break from golf the past couple years have been a nice journey to get my game back. Since getting out of the industry and regaining my am status I have been thinking of doing a FSGA Sr Amateur qualifier in a couple of years when I turn 55. Just need to get the game ready for it. The best thing that has worked for me it to only focus on one swing change until it becomes natural. This helps free my mind and keeps me focused during practice and play.
  9. Stamping isn't too difficult to do. You just need to practice and get good quality tools. I choose not to stamp as I often trade in wedges. If you want the see through look get the Tamaya lacquer paint clear versions.
  10. I've been doing custom paint jobs on putters and clubs for years. I find that the Tamaya Enamel paints seem to work best. I like using needle applicators for fine fill. You can get them on amazon. Here are some examples.
  11. Using the Liquid IV's has been a wonderful help here. I use them each round and I no longer have the tired feeling after a round. I have also found that Costco seems to have the best price on them, about $1 a serving.
  12. I joined with some friends earlier this year and we have been having a blast. One of the guys is now a regional director for the Tampa bay area here in Florida. Most of the events down here are either in Jacksonville, Miami or the panhandle. With over 40 courses in the Tampa area we are trying to grow the local region here. We did get the chance to play Copperhead this year and are looking to add a few more top courses like Lakewood ranch, Ocala national and others.
  13. For me I do have a brand loyalty to Titleist as I was a staff player back when I was in the industry and they took great care of me. That was probably more to do with the reps we had, but it's always stuck with me. I have hit other clubs and most every other manufacturer makes great equipment. I know for years I felt that the Titleist woods were lacking until they came out with the TS series. So yeah I rock a full bag and even still my 20 year old staff bag. As far as the other brands go: Taylormade - Great stuff in their forged irons, Woods have always been good. Callaway - Never felt great with anything except to original Big Bertha 3 wood. Ping - Easy to hit but always shorter for me. Mizuno - Love the look and feel, but always a club shorter. Never really hit much with other brands like Wilson or Srixon. Done nothing with DTC but would be willing to. Miura - Would love to try but just can't justify the cost yet.
  14. if you could figure a way to attach one of these either to the side of the van or the rear seat it might be a starting point.
