  1. Good Wednesday morning! Golf with grandson #2 today. It is currently 29°, but supposed to be in the low 50's this afternoon.
  2. Hello Luisddavila, The only course we have here in Lebanon, MO is GreatLife Golf and Fitness. It is not a great course, but it is also not a goat ranch. There are several good courses at Lake of the Ozarks; a nice course in Marshfield called Whispering Oaks; a decent course in Buffalo called Dream Valley; and a good course in Bolivar called Silo Ridge. Springfield has several nice courses as well. I hope you enjoy your vacation.
  3. Congratulations to the testers. I look forward to your reviews.
  4. Congratulations to the testers. I look forward to your reviews.
  5. For years I always wore polarized Oakley's or Costa sunglasses while playing golf. Several years ago an eye doctor recommended that I wear polarized sunglasses when spending time in the sun. Thanks to the aging process and my eyesight getting worse, I now wear a pair of Oakley bifocals with transition lenses.
  6. Good Tuesday morning, golfers! Another windy and cold day in the Ozarks but we have warmer temps on the way. This is spring break week for our schools, so I am hoping to play with my grandson tomorrow. Hudson is a freshman basketball player and decided to go out for the golf team instead of running track. He shot a 52 in his first JV meet this past week and called to ask if we could play golf together.
  7. Five mornings per week I do set-ups, planks, push-ups, stretching exercises, and swing a weighted club. I also walk while playing golf and walk with my wife. I will turn 65 this summer and my goal is to play golf for as many years as possible.
  8. Twice in my life I have paid $300 for a Scotty Cameron putter. Would I pay more? Yes. I tend to have longer relationships with putters than my other clubs.
  9. I have a PXG 0211 7 wood that alternate in the bag with a 3 hybrid. It is very easy to hit and has a higher launch than my 3 hybrid.
  10. I live an hour from golf shops that perform fitting, so I do my research and experiment with different shafts. A couple of years ago, I purchased a Fuji Ventus Velocore and really liked that shaft, until I decided to try a lighter weight with more flex. For me and my swing, I found the lighter weight and more flexible shafts easier to swing. I agree with those that have mentioned above about there isn't much consistency in flex across the manufacturers. I currently have a UST Mamiya MP5 in ladies flex in my Ping G425 Max driver set at 8 degrees and a Graffaloy ProLaunch Blue 45 in senior flex in a PXG Gen 5 driver. The common traits of these two shafts are they are lightweight, have a lower torque number, and both are relatively inexpensive. @IndyBonzo has done a lot of research and has data comparing different shafts. The other option is to take advantage of the advertised forgiveness and distance of the new 10k drivers, as long as you like the OEM shaft.
  11. Good Monday morning, Spies! We are getting much needed rain and high wind today, so no golf for me. It is a perfect day to work on some indoor projects.
  12. Good morning, golfers! Another golf day for me today, but the weatherman is predicting a wind chill in the 20's tomorrow morning.
  13. Good morning, fellow Spies! It is golf day here in the Ozarks with a predicted high in the low 60's.
  14. I believe my goals are similar to 2023. 1. Be more consistent; less bad rounds. 2. Lower my handicap, by applying #1. 3. Break my all time record of 2 under par at my home course....which would mean shooting below 70.
  15. When I was younger, I had excellent vision. As I aged, I eventually needed help with reading or up close vision, so I went with bifocals for work. I absolutely hated wearing my bifocals on the golf course, so I tried wearing 1 contact to help me fill out the scorecard. Then in my 60's, I started needing some help with my distance as well. After my vision exam last year, I ordered a pair of Oakley glasses with transition bifocals lenses and forced myself to wear them while playing golf. Now I don't even notice the progressive lenses and enjoy wearing them. And it is very nice to see where my tee shots land!
  16. Good Tuesday morning, Spies! Sometimes it’s the little things that makes your day. While substituting in a 4th grade class yesterday, a learning disability young lady gave me the following note. Now, onto the cartoon.
  17. Congratulations to the testers. I look forward to your reviews of the Ping wedges.
  18. I believe so. I see no reason why the pro's aren't allowed to wear shorts, especially in the heat of the summer.
  19. A great final round and a nail-biter to the end. I was a bit disappointed in Wyndam Clark throwing his caddy under the bus after his horrific water ball on Saturday at the 17th. Supposedly his caddy told him to take a little off the chosen club, so I guess that caused him to hit fat.
  20. I believe Wilson golf clubs are under-rated and to some extent Cobra clubs. For golf balls, I believe the Maxfli Tour is greatly under-rated. Last year during testing, I was talking to a fellow golfer about the Maxfli Tour and his response was, "but it's a Maxfli".
  21. Good morning, golfers! I am hanging out with 4th graders this week. Next week is spring break, so hopefully, lots of golf.
  22. I alternate between 2 drivers: a Ping G425 Max with a UST Mamiya MP5 in ladies flex and a PXG Gen 5 0311XF with Graffaloy ProLaunch Blue 45 in senior flex. I like both, but my first pick is the Ping.
  23. Good Friday morning, fellow Spies! I hope everyone has an enjoyable weekend.
