Iam a big Bluewater tournament guy and also a charter capt I run a private boat out of Key West now but yepper Poons are fun and once you hear the gill plates rattle you will never forget it.  The boat in the pic was a 46.6 Bertram I ran for a few years as a busy charter boat. That's my ugly mug next to the beautiful gal on the mag cover

Morning everyone!  A lot of golf courses are starting to open up here in Wisconsin, which is very unusual for February.  Of course since it's so early we still run into days like this:

No outdoor golf planned for today, which is just as well as I woke up to some new light snow and temps back down in the 20s. Doesn't bode well for keeping warm on my round booked tomorrow at 11! Current forecast says at tee time it will be 45, but feels like 35 with a 15mph wind. At least it predicts full sun... 🫣🥶. Rechargeable hand warmers are now plugged in, lol.
I have a backup offer of playing a round on a friend's garage sim so that may happen instead.
May get over to Golf Galaxy to try some putters today.

I've spent quite a bit of time fishing that area... "wind knots" are a real thing there and have nothing to do with poor casting mechanics 😆.

No, crazy as it sounds, I have not played any but the 4 courses here at Grand since we arrived in Sept 2022.  I had intended to play a few of the courses in Sun City West this past summer but never did.  We also had a round planned for Quintero GC (near Lake Pleasant), this past summer but that got cancelled.  So, other than a trip to Emerald Canyon (Parker, AZ) and most recently to Tubac GC Resort, I have many other local area courses to try.  
Good news is that my new Monday/Friday group plans to sample some various courses during the off-season play... so I'll be getting a start on that list pretty soon.

Cheyenne is 6000 feet above sea level and to the west of us we have a 9000 feet mountain range and just west of that is Laramie at 7220 feet, just west of that is Snowy Range at almost 10,000 feet. So the wind accumulates and blasts Cheyenne. To the east of us is Nebraska and Nebraska sucks so that increases the wind.

Started the day with an early simulator session. Swing has been feeling solid lately and I have a lesson scheduled next weekend that I'm hoping will help even more to prepare me for the 2024 season.
Brunch with my wife this morning and no other plans for the weekend! Looking forward to relaxing and enjoying the free time.

Good morning spies! My second day with old friends who don't golf. With temps now topping out in the 80 region I think I am going through withdrawals. We are going over to Goodyear to see the Guardians play the Reds today in a spring training game. 
@fixyurdivot do you ever take the short drive down to Palm Valley Golf Club off of Litchfield road in Goodyear? A nice 27 hole course that is challenging enough to keep things interesting, it is easy enough to make it fun, and with wide gently sloping fairways make it a nice walkable tract . 

Your photo reminds me of the views I had from the courses I played in Montana.  Your forecast reminds me how much I don't miss the prevailing winds through that region 😲.

Afternoon all! Probably the best weekend day this year. Alas, we were celebrating my wife’s birthday hosting a brunch for family. Can’t really slip away for a quick nine holes without being noticed. 😂

That collection is cool but I'm way more interested in your avitar and what appears to be you in an boat?  Have numerous fly rods, will travel, and pay for gas 😊.  My last trip to that area was in 2002, Marathon Key and Black Ghost Outfitters (no longer in business). 
It is absolutely true what a school of daisy chaining Tarpon, that look like chrome 55 Buick fenders, does to ones composure.  I'd long read how even the most competent fisherman suddenly cannot find the arse with both hands and thought it was poppycock... nope 🤣.

Thinking about firing up my smoker with some wings today , might make  for some tasty snacks this evening 

Good morning MGS Troops! It’s windy in Cheyenne. Too windy to play golf. This was yesterday’s round wind in Northern Colorado.

it made for some challenging play.  It’s gusting ove 50mph in Cheyenne this morning already. Los Poopies graced me with their presence for a cup o Joe outside for about a minute. They do not like the wind. I really wanted to play today but looks like I’m out. Oh well, the wind took its toll on me yesterday so maybe it’s G*Ds way of saying “Mucho take it easy”. Hope everyone is feeling well this morning. As always, Happy Birdie Hunting!!

Top of the pot spies ☕.  After a brief hiatus to try other brands, we recently switched back to McD's ground coffee.  It's always been a favorite of ours and started as part of our "road trip" travel itineary... that is, stop for a breakfast sandwich and coffee soon after hitting the road.  We've been doing this for decades now. I bet we're not the only ones.  
Another glorius winter day here in AZ.  Spring training now adding to the busy time of year here in Surprise (Texas Rangers and KC Royals home).  With nearly all of our part time residents back, the place is really hopping as compared to June-Nov.  The tee sheets on all 4 courses are pretty much booked all day, everyday. My Saturday foursome has a 1052 at Desert Springs.  We always play some paired contest and the purse is losers buy the winners a beer.  Everyone also carries their favorite birdie  juice elixir and there have been some rounds where those get pulled a handful of times 🤪.

Instant jail in the Keys for shooting anything more than a BB gun and I live on the course nobody is letting anyone do anything it just so happens maybe a few go away every morning and I have tried them as the Cubans eat them and I typically like their food but didn't care for the lizard. Love Gator but pass on the Liz. My rifle is dead quiet or I wouldn't think of it. That Rossi is a nice gun. I have a massive collection of Putters, guns and watches I'm a little tweaked that way 🤣🤣

nothing really planned for the day as still not wanting to test the ankle much today. Certain movements still have a slight pain. May go help peel shrimp for our Ruritan Club supper tonight. They are making jambalaya and it’s supposed to be a hit. Hope everyone has a good day. 

Careful posting that data...if the golf gods see that they will roll back to foam balls in the name of distance control to save on colf course real estate!  😄
