  1. Kudos testers! This is just really cool. LAB putters intrigue this Spy for certain.
  2. Good morning Spies! Just another busy workday here. The grey skies and cold temps help the focus - but just a little. Go play golf and tell us about it here so the vicarious golfers can soak it up! Wishing you all a super day.
  3. Thanks @Merlin1313. I got to hit them just a little last night on the sim before my lesson (we go outside next week finally), and they felt really good. Not quite as buttery as some other Miuras I have hit, but still really good, great feedback, and long - about 10 yards longer than my Mizuno MP223s (as expected with the c-taper) at very similar lofts. One mishit punished my hands a bit. But I am not adverse to some light electroshock therapy for my golf swing. @Josh Ross you can hit them any time you are in Indy! @cksurfdude please let us know what you think. Those are gorgeous clubs!
  4. I watch too many. Lol. But I have learned a lot and many really help. Does anyone here know why several of the UK - based folks wear the hats with a P on them? Also, it becomes obvious that these folks copy from one another. Just a few of my faves, fwiw, with four clear leaders: Tier 1: Alex Etches (hilarious, and wow can he bomb it) Mr. Short Game Alex Elliott Golf Ali Taylor Golf Tier 2: Average Golfer Mark Crossfield James Robinson Peter Finch Rick Shiels Scratch at 50 TXG Mobile Clubmaker Meandmygolf
  5. Good morning Spies! Sending prayers to @sirchunksalot and all his coworkers. A very busy day ahead here. It’s good to be back home and at work after some RnR, but reentry can be hot and bumpy. Ha I wish you all excellent Mondays.
  6. They’re here! Not needed, but too gorgeous to pass on. I am very curious to try the KBS C-taper shafts too. I have not hit them yet because we just got back in town, which tbh is making me a little sad. Lol.
  7. You are correct. It may not be for everyone. Also to clarify - I said (perhaps not clearly) ball first, not turf.
  8. I don’t know if this works for everyone, but here is my silver bullet process for the 3W: 1. Play a relatively large and forgiving head. 2. Ensure you are fit for the correct shaft - mine is the fairway wood version of my driver shaft. 3. Aim 3” in front of the ball. 4. Swing just like an iron - ball first then turf. 5. Don’t set up with the clubface closed. 6. Don’t treat it like a tee shot! Hope this helps you. It has helped me a ton. Oh, and this is exactly how I have been taught to hit my hybrids also.
  9. This test has been a great deal of fun. The Sussex has been a very comfortable and soft glove to play with. I have played well while wearing it too. Do you believe in coincidences? i plan to play this week and will have more data for the testing. Red Rooster has impressed me thus far.
  10. Good morning Spies! @sirchunksalot I am sending prayers and good vibes to your wife and you. Hope all is well. I will be sitting in a meeting all day, but with great people and friends so it will be enjoyable. Then it’s back home to Indy tomorrow. That is if we survive a night on The Strip tonight. I wish you all a good Saturday. It feels odd not to be at least practicing golf for me. Hope y’all get the chance to play or practice some!
  11. I carry 3 and 5 woods and 3 and 5 hybrids and the gapping works. My 3 wood is much longer than my 3 hybrid. I would get away with not having the 5 wood tbh but I like both it and my 3 hybrid so much I don’t want to leave either behind, and the 5 wood can be longer than the 3 hybrid if I want or need a little extra on a shot. Of course, gapping is a very personal thing, so you should probably test and see how it works for you. Good luck and please let us know what you learn.
  12. I have a dozen waiting for me at the office. Excited to try them out. I used to play the MTB-x and liked it. Still searching for a replacement, and leaning toward the On Core VERO X1 (which performed well for me) or ProV1. Was excited about the Srixon Z Star Diamond, which was decent off the tee, but it had so much iron spin it would lose velocity and fall dead out of the sky. Maybe the new Snells can be the MTBx replacement I am looking for.
  13. Date 04/27/2023 Course Name Rio Secco Gross Score 86 Course Handicap 14 Gross Strokes over/under par 14 Net Score to Par 0 Net Score 72 Net Birdies or better 4 Longest Drive 264 My back was killing me after a tough night of little sleep, and I started +8 after 4. Yikes. Went +6 the rest of the way, with 2 legit birdies, and posted a decent score - actually, better than decent for me. It was a beautiful day in Las Vegas with two good friends. What a great time. I wish every day golfing was this much fun. (it often is!)
  14. I had issues dialing in the swing weight with the Rogue driver after I took an inch off the short. I used tungsten putty where the weight goes. You can also buy different weights for the Rogue on Amazon and other places. Good luck!
  15. Good morning, Spies! It's a gorgeous day today in Sin City. FABWIFE and I love visiting here - for 3-4 days only. LOL. No golf today, but planned for both Thursday and Friday. @cksurfdude the lawn looks great! @scotter032 I second your emotion on the Paradym 4H. It is incredibly easy to hit, and workable. I was able to hit a gorgeous long fade around a tree on Hole 18 on Sunday that I know I could not have done with my older Titleist hybrid. Those clubs are magical. Have a great day everyone!
  16. Good morning y’all! Excited for the NFL Draft starting tonight. It feels like a make or break decision night for my hometown guys. Go Colts! Heading to Sin City this afternoon with FABWIFE. Hoping my back sprain resolved before golf Thursday and Friday. This month has been nutty with travel. I will pay for it in May and June. I wish you all fabulous days!
  17. Just chiming in to say that my unboxing, first impressions, and aesthetics judgments are posted in the testing thread. On-course testing started this weekend just ended. An impressive beginning from Red Rooster. (I mean, it's a rooster, so . . ..) Fit/Feel/Performance/Etc. coming soon. (Spoiler Alert: Testers bleed for this glove! Make it more redder!)
  18. You have it right, @ChitownM2. The Sussex is Red Rooster's softest and thinnest glove. That said, Red Rooster expects it to last longer than one round -- more like 3-5 rounds. Testing has started so we will let you know!
  19. Good morning, Spies! I was off the forum much of the weekend b/c I was practicing or playing. Tweaked my back Saturday on hole 1 of 9, and soldiered on, including by playing 18 yesterday. I could baby the driver and wedges were fine but the back really jacked up the iron striking. Luckily my short game reappeared and saved me from myself repeatedly. I think I will just take it easy in the desk chair today. More travel on tap this week, with warm weather golf Thursday and Friday. Hoping the back is better by then. Best wishes to all you you for an excellent day. John
  20. Date 04/23/2023 Course Name River Glen Country Club Gross Score 85 Course Handicap 13 Gross Strokes over/under par 14 Net Score to Par 1 Net Score 72 Net Birdies or better 4 Longest Drive 254
  21. I snuck away again between work and dinner yesterday to work on my iron striking. (This seems to be happening a lot lately.) This drill really worked for me, along with putting a penny about four inches behind the ball and avoiding hitting it. I saw immediate distance and accuracy gains with good strikes, and much more rollout too. Will try taking this to the course over the weekend. So simple - and it works on the range for sure. Merely aiming (i.e., focusing my eye) ahead of the ball made a giant difference.
  22. Ask and you shall receive! https://www.cesarsway.com/pooper-scooper-robot-will-automatically-pick-up-your-dogs-poo/ Good morning Spies!! Wishing you all a good day.
  23. I told him he could only wear Izod now.
