    I wouldn't sell.
Even with a GI set there will still be misses and bad strikes..a GI iron won't solve all of that.
Selling you'll get a decent return, but not enough to buy a full new set so you'll then be spending more money on something you're not playing much.
With a little more practice and time I'm guessing the swing will come back and you'll feel right at home again.

@Shapotomous I’ve heard that the T series design team worked with the Vokey guys on the soles of T series range of irons specifically to get the best turf interaction possible. Sounds like they were successful.

An excellent point.  My AP3 GW is one of my best clubs in the bag which is why I’ve been so torn what to do.   Not sure I could go with an SM9 for my PW as I’m so used to the AP3 43 deg PW and I couldn’t use an SM9 for that.

Honestly no. I've played ping glide wedges and now my Mizuno s23. I appreciate the extra help those give and felt vokeys there may be a bit too punishing from what I want.

@GolfSpy_APH was there any consideration to use Vokey SM9’s as the PW and GW?  Just curious as I’ve been thinking of going this route for a PW and GW.  Appreciate all of the information you provide.

So this is what I ended up going with. Took a bit to think on it and find the right balance. My wife was laughing at me as kids were asleep and I was spending a good few hours on the Titleist website.
I went through the selector tool and t150 was my go to, secondary was t200. That was the extra confirmation I needed.
    Setup -5-gap wedge.
I went this route because I want a new 50ish degree club. I have about 100 different clubs between my 5 and 3 wood, none of which I use that often. So no point going to add another 4 iron which will get benched.
    5 iron - T200 with Project X IO 6.0
Standard length, 1 flat and Lamkin Grips
    6-9 irons - T150 with Project X IO 6.0
Standard length, 1 flat and Lamkin Grips
    PW GW - T100 with Project X IO 6.0
Standard length, 1 flat and Lamkin Grips, but 1 strong to better match and gap with what I currently have.
This should give me the right balance across the board and provide me with a set I am much more confident with.

Love the blended set, @GolfSpy_APH! Almost every fitting video I’ve seen on YouTube so far has ended in a blended set of some kind as well. Really goes to show how going into a fitting with a completely open mind can allow the fitter to just do their thing and optimize the clubs to the fullest potential for the individual.

... First off, what a great detailed post! Thanks for sharing your experience and so much good stuff in there. 😍

... Obviously the decision is yours and yours alone. But here is my 2.5 cents. Ask yourself this question. If you go with a full set of T150's and play them well, will you look back and 2nd guess why you didn't go with T100s? Or when missing just a little with T100's, will you look back and 2nd guess why you didn't go with the slightly more forgiving T150s? I believe the difference is subtle but a difference non the less and I have always felt players at any level should always play the most forgiving irons they can effectively play. Obviously one of the reason even Tour Pro's play more forgiving long irons. If it were my decision, and the T100 and T150 were very similar, both looked good at address and I liked the feel of both?  I would not hesitate to go full T150 and never give it a second thought.

So had my fitting today for T Series.
A little background. I am playing off a 10 right now. Have been as low as a 6, but that would take some work to get back to.
Not so long ago I played Cobra AMP Cell Pros calling @chisag and truly loved them. However smarter choices lead me to to the Ping i series and then I played the Ping i210 from member testing till later this year. I switched to the Sub70 659 TC and while I really like them the forgiveness wasnt quite there. I found a cheaper set of P790s and went with those which is the current set I am in. Bottom line I have played various irons, had success with many of them as well and while there are some I love to look of I am not too fussed. I recognize that my game needs some help to improve.
Fast forward to the fitting today. Showed up early hit about 40 balls for warm up with my clubs and worked my way through the bag in a normal routine. I was the first fitting and when Kevin from Titleist was setup he called me over so we started a few minutes early.
Trackman was being charged so he had me go through shafts without trackman and just work off feel. Roughly 5-10 balls per shaft. I was expecting to get tossed the t200 or even t350 to start, but that was not to be. First thing he grabbed was the t100 and put in the Project X IO 6.0. We had talked about this shaft before (I have had a fitting with him before) and had kinda thought this could be one I got along with. I have never tried it, so was excited.
First thing I noticed about the T100 was holy cow the turf interaction is unlike any other club I have ever hit. Period. So so so good. I wasnt put off by the size of the head, but there were misses. Feel of the T100 is on point as well.
Next shaft up was the KBS Tour Lite Stiff. First swing was smooth easy and the thing flew for days. Seriously impressed, however when I went after it a little bit I started to loose the ball left and right. So onto the next!
Nippon Modus 105 Stiff. I have played this shaft in several sets and the best way I can describe it was familiar. Good solid load point and feel through, but the ball did go awfully high. Like a lot higher than I was expecting. Strikes were the same, it just helped produce this extra height.
Last one we went with was the Project X LZ. In truth I didnt know what shaft he put in on any of these. I just took the club and went with it. I really liked the LZ and with the little extra weight I did feel I was going after them a little more and the weighting was different, not bad different but different. I also had a bit more of a fade with this shaft.
Back to the IO and it was the clear winner, stripped a few. Felt great, timing was there so with it checking all the boxes it was what we decided on.
So shaft selected onto trackman (now that it was finally somewhat charged up)
T100 numbers 153 carry, 162 total. 1.34 smash factor and overall he was very happy with the numbers. In truth given they were range balls it left a bit of doubt, but not in the numbers it was getting but what I should expect.
We then put the T150 in and while a slight bit bigger it really isnt much at all. It was also so much easier to hit and we saw an instant jump of 4-5 mph ball speed. Carry bumped up 10 ish yards. I was thrilled.
T200 next up and first several were great. I will admit I didnt see the numbers on this as trackman shutoff again, but the feel wasnt that much worse than the T150, but the size to me was noticeably bigger. Not a turn off, but noticeable. Flights were good and overall I couldnt really complain. It didnt have that wow factor of the 150 to me though.
With everything hit (we had done T350  a previous time) it was down to set make up etc. He was pretty insistent in putting me into the T100 irons and then T150 in the 5 and 4.
I have to be honest I am not sold. Yes I can hit all of those and dont think I dont have the game to play it, but I keep doubting the selection.
I should have asked why the T100 over the T150 with the added forgiveness etc. I didnt though, that is my fault and partly due to running out of time and a in part of shock that this was what were my results.
I didnt place the order on the spot and want to sleep on it some more. The other part is I dont even carry a 4 iron in my bag. I have a 4 crossover and other clubs however rarely use them because I prefer my 3 wood or 5 iron.
In my heart I know what I should do and I am going to do a little more research tonight. At least I know I can hit them all and am not intimidated by any of them, however keep going back to golf is hard enough as is. What not give myself a little extra help? It isnt like I try to work the ball all the time.

Bogeyfree69 reacted to Blake Hopkins in Ping G430 LST
Hi everyone, this is my first post on here, so I apologize in advance if I’m doing this wrong. I wanted to make this post here to say that I 10/10 recommend the Ping G430 LST model to golfers, especially those who spin it a bit much off the tee.
Background: I’m a high school golfer, aspiring to play in college, and a 2.8 handicap index currently. Tee shots and approach shots have always been my forte, while putting has usually been my bane. However, over the last year, as my swing speed improved dramatically, I started losing distance and consistency off the tee with my 3 year old TS2 Driver that I was fit for in 2020. I was getting very little roll, and at first thought that it might be the ball, I play a ProV1. So, I went to get a ball fitting at Golf Galaxy, and was told that the problem was my driver, and I was getting ~4300 rpm’s of spin off the tee. This blew my mind, but I didn’t want to do anything about it as that driver felt great and was simply what I was used to. However, at one point in April I was hitting on the range, and smoked one, and the crown cracked. Yes, the crown, the top of the club. I’ve never seen that before. Anyhow, that forced me to go in to get fit for a new driver.

The fitting: I started hitting some of the newer drivers, like the Stealth, Paradym, TSR2, and of course the Ping G430. I got fit into a tour flex shaft, a kai’li x stiff 60 gram std LNG. Instantly loved the look and the feel of the G430. From the first shot I knew it was a game changer for me. By the end of the fitting, I lost ~2000 rpms of spin, gained 15 yards of carry, and a whopping 38 yards of distance!!! According to the trackman, and subsequent on course testing, I went from hitting it 253 off the tee to an average of 291, with some shots going as far as 340!

Now: Since then I’ve lost some distance, but that is because I’ve taken a leaf out of Tommy Fleetwood’s book and sacrificed a bit of distance for accuracy. Now I average 284 off the tee according to Arccos data, which is still an improvement of 31 yards. Not only did I gain distance, but I also got a tighter dispersion. Out of a driver that isn’t really known to be forgiving, I’ve begun to hit over 50% of fairways, while before I was averaging around 43%. I attribute this to lower spin rates making huge slices or hooks a bit less prominent as there isn’t as much spin to take the ball off line, but I could be incorrect. I also love the look of the club, the workability is still amazing, and the “idiot-proof” adjustability is great. I only have two negatives, and both are pretty small. The first is that the sole of the club scratches really easily, even just from tees, and as I hit an absurd amount of golf balls per week this just doesn’t look the best, though it doesn’t impact performance at all, only aesthetics. The only other downside I have is the head cover. It just does not seem to be made out of very quality material, and is a little tight without being flexible whatsoever, so it can be a little frustrating to put on.

tldr: love the ping g430 LST, it took off a crazy amount of spin for me and added 38 yards of distance, great feel, sound, and looks. Only real downsides are a seeming lack of durability on the sole, and a head cover that isn’t nearly as premium as the club itself

By the way, there is nothing “wrong” with those non-VeloCore OEM Ventus shafts!  The ones that they sell to Callaway and Tour Edge range from 3.7* to 4.1* torque in the lighter weights and softer flexes to 3.2* - 3.6* torque in the 70 and 80 Series weights (and below 3.0* in the 80 Series hybrid shafts), depending upon flex.  They just don’t have the ultra-rigid VeloCore material strategically placed throughout the length of the shafts.
I am able to purchase the non-VeloCore OEM shafts (not the TM version) in both the Red and Blue profiles as components. I’ve fitted several golfers into these far less-expensive shafts and they have performed quite well for the golfers who are using them. No complaints and much positive feedback has come from these golfers … and the cost of the non-VeloCore shafts is less than half (actually about 40%) of the cost of the Ventus and Ventus TR shafts with VeloCore.

I am a Fujikura Charter Dealer and Fitter, and have been working with Fujikura for almost 20 years, and even I cannot tell you about that proprietary Fujikura non-VeloCore shaft that is used by TaylorMade.  I do have the data on the Ventus Blue shafts that Callaway uses in their Rogue ST drivers and that Tour Edge has used in a variety of their drivers since 2021; however, Fujikura will not discuss or publish information regarding the OEM Ventus shafts that they sell to TaylorMade.
My best guess is that the TaylorMade OEM Ventus shaft is the same model that they sell to Callaway and Tour Edge, but with a different paint job.  IF THIS IS TRUE, your shaft weighs 75 grams, has 3.5 degrees of torque and a mid kick point. There is no Ventus TR shaft that is going to be close in feel, launch, performance, etc., but the closest would probably be the Ventus TR Blue 7X.  I prefer the Ventus TR Red Series shafts in fairway woods, but I also have a Ventus TR Blue 7S shaft in a Callaway Rogue ST LS 3 H/L fairway, and this shaft performs well in that clubhead; however, even with its 16.5* loft, that Rogue ST LS is a very low-launching and low-spin clubhead, and the shaft does not help in getting more spin and a higher launch and ball flight. Because of this, that 3 H/L is best-suited for use as a tee club (it also has a deeper face than any other Callaway fairway wood), and makes a reasonably good “wind cheater”.
I’m not sure that this information is going to be very helpful to you.  As I mentioned above, the information that I provided regarding the shaft that you have in your Stealth Plus 3w is only a guess, since Fujikura does not make detailed information available on the “made-for” TaylorMade Ventus shafts, even to its Charter Dealers.
