Shot my best round in a year!
Before I get into it, I have been working on the game diligently for the season. I am having alignment issues as well and seemed to fix something over the last week or two.
    The ball:
This ball was great and showed up as a premium ball with one major drawback. I choose the spiny XS version for more green side control, similar to what I could get in my Titleist ball. However, compared to mishits on a proV or tp5, the distance lost on the Bridgestone is considerable. The ball gets outrageously spiny on off centered strikes which knocks me down around 10 to 20 yards. It gets confusing walking up to my normal spot that I play from but 10 yards or more shorter. Off centered strikes don’t go this much shorter on other premium balls I play. Everything else stacks up well compared to other premium balls. May scoop up the X version to see how it compares to the XS after testing. I also played with one ball the entire round so perhaps it was that particular ball.
    The mindset:
Like I said before, I have been working on alignment and it’s finally clicking on the course as I got the balls in my hand, so I’ll have to test more with and without the mindset golf balls.
This was my best score in a year. With a lot of swing changes and short game clicking. But I will credit the mindset tech for two simple changes. Aiming the ball down the fairway made me focus more on the object in the fairway longer. Gave me purpose before I even took a rehearsal swing. I have about 10% penalty shots during tee shots so this is a huge plus
The alignment still felt too far left for me but it came down to trust in the swing and line that I’ve built.
Now stepping up to the ball, going through my head post feels is “you have a green light to hit the ball.”
I did hit more fairways than usual and the ones that missed were very close. I only played out of the trees once or twice from poor tee shots.
Excited for more testing if this is what it brings me.

My partner asked “what’s the point of the circles?…couldn’t you draw that yourself?”
“Yes of course, but would you?”

If the results from the test (albeit one round of golf) yield to 10-30 yards lost on driver but a 13 handicapper shooting 77, does it matter? I’ve been working harder on playing golf and not swinging club. So the mindset is a huge plus for me. More tests to follow.

I received a dozen of the Bridgestone Mindset golf balls as part of the initial MGS offering and was selected later to be in the formal Mindset/Shot Scope review.
The "official" Bridgestone/Shot Scope balls have been ordered and I wanted to save my review of the Mindset methodology until I get the balls for that portion of the assessment.   Our charter was to use our Shot Scope performance data to assess the impact (if any) of the Bridgestone Mindset identify, visualize and focus principles.
As part of that assessment, we submitted data from at least 10 rounds with our "go to" gamer ball as a performance baseline.   The intent is to compare those results with ten rounds using the Mindset philosophy to see if there's indeed improved performance.   With my go to ball is a Maxfli Tour S, I felt any performance improvement or decline with the Bridgestone Mindset principles may also be influenced by changing to the Bridgestone Tour B RX ball (touted for slower swing speeds looking for more distance).   So, I set out to attempt to take that variable out of the equation.
I put the initial box of Bridgestone Mindset Tour B RX balls in play for four rounds but did not use to Mindset cues to assess if just changing balls had a significant effect on my personal performance number.  Here's what I found:

Looking at the Shot Scope performance data, both balls seem to perform equally as well.  There is some variability in performance distance between the Maxfli and Bridgestone balls, but not enough to get too excited.  The Bridgestone data is only over four rounds while the Maxfli data represents thirty-three rounds.
There are similar numbers with club performance, tee shots and approach shots for both balls with a slight improvement in short game and putting seen with the Bridgestone.
Looking at the overall average scoring, the Bridgestone Tour B RX did show about a two stroke lower average scores.  However, the lower scoring is likely more due to a few good chipping and putting days and less due to the Bridgestone's ball performance.  Getting up and down more often and eliminating three putts can go a long way to explain the two-stroke improvement.  I would expect this gap to close with additional Bridgestone Tour B RX rounds and data points.
I will continue to play Bridgestone Tour B RX without the Mindset philosophy until the official Bridgestone/Shot Scope ball arrive to see if there's any significant changes in the above numbers.  Once the official balls arrive, I'll be totally dedicated to the assessment of the Mindset philosophies.
Overall, I can feel fairly confident in my situation that both balls perform very similar to one another.  So, any improvement I see in the next phase can most likely be attributed to the application of Mindset principles.
I can't wait to see what happens!

Played my first round with the Mindset balls this morning. I wasn't sure how I would feel about having the graphic on the balls, but I really did find it helpful during my shot routine. Especially on the tee, I liked pushing the tee into the ground while lining up the Mindset arrow with my target.
I struggle sometimes on making sure I'm appropriately lined up to my target. By having the arrow setup before I even hit, I know that I'm in good shape and just need to focus on making solid contact.
I will say I find the graphic more distracting on putts than on drives. I think it's because I mostly putt by feel, so having the graphic there makes me focus too much on hitting the green dot and less on having the right speed. For drives though, I like the mentality of just setting everything up, visualizing the shot, and smashing that green dot.
Besides the Mindset graphic, I've always been a big fan of Bridgestone balls. I was gaming the Tour B RX before this sampling opportunity was announced. I love the feel and definitely will be continuing to play these this year!

You definitely hit it hard enough. My issue is I often generate too much spin. If you need spin, then you picked correctly. I am always trying to take off spin.

    Finally got some decent weather!

I was playing the BX and comparing it to the tp5. The Bridgestone BX was consistently longer than the TP5. I felt the Tp5 was spinny of the driver and the Bridgestone was much more penetrating. Bridgestone off my wedges and irons felt solid, but it’s nothing spectacular, just felt like a good solid golf ball. The greens I was playing on were punched, so im not gonna put much stock in the way the ball performed on the green or with putting.

Bridgestone compared to the Tp5 were very similar, they even feel similar on the putting green. In my opinion the BX was overall a little less spinny from tee to green then the TP5

ill be comparing the Bridgestone with the prov1x next 🎉

if you made it this far… you’re awesome 👍🏼

Ok, so I stuck with the above 27-hole old ball for today’s round and it lasted the distance! So the following ball is now at 45 holes.
The Tour BX performed pretty flawlessly on a breezy, sunny day  - the wind didn’t really affect flight much, which is great, and it seemed low enough spin with driver that there were no big ballooning slices.
    It
I played 18 at Purgatory GC, Indiana. It’s a links-style course with tons of bunkers and fun, challenging difficulty level on a normal day. After the round I asked the pro if I’d booked just after greenkeepers’ revenge weekend, or whether they were just angry at members for some reason. Some of the pin placements were just evil! Tucked in corners, top of slopes, on ridges etc. Below is an example. The greens were cut so short and well rolled that an uphill putt to the below hole that stopped short proceeded to roll back to my feet. Two of my playing group had exactly the same happen to them.

My putter was ice cold today, and I just struggled for a feel on the greens. They were much faster than the other courses I’ve played this year so it’s all a me problem. Feel off the face with tee shots, irons and wedges was great. I hit some really nice chips and pitches and the Tour BX held the green well and rolled out nicely when chip and run shots were played.
I hit some really nice tee shots with driver and 3 hybrid off the tee
I alongside be playing again later this week and hitting the sim, so I’ll collect some data alongside other balls.
    More to come…

Hello everyone. My name is Riley and I’ve been selected to test the new mindset balls! I’m a big mindset and meditation guy so I’m be excited to take this into the bag and see how I perform with it.

I’ve been playing golf for about 3 years now and getting into tournament play this year. So I’ve been more motivated to compete and push my limits in golf. I consider myself as an athlete who’s taken part of a lot of different competitions and hoping this ball can help me settle in the golf game a bit more.

I have a lot of issues right now off the tee and course management so this will be the perfect ball for me to use and give you guys real committed feedback.

I am currently using the ProV1X. With more of an emphasis in green side spin for my wedge shots. The spin for driver doesn’t matter as much to me as feeling a spiny wedge shot.

I’m back with some initial results. I want to start by introducing myself. I am originally from Rio Piedras, PR and currently live in the Tucson, AZ area. I played all kinds of sports growing up except golf, so I am a somewhat athletic person. I took up the game of golf while living in Orlando, FL back in the early 2000s and was hooked, playing and practicing my way down to an 8 handicap. After hurting my back, and ballooning to almost 300 lbs on my 5’8” frame, I decided to take up mountain biking and sold all my golf equipment. It was within cycling that I met my wife and we’ve been together ever since. Fate would have us moving to Myrtle Beach, SC where there was only one place to ride your mountain bike and road cycling is hazardous to your health, so I decided to come back to golf in 2021.
It didn’t start well at all.
Thankfully I stuck with it, continued to play and practice, and have started to bring the handicap down  and currently at 12.9, with a goal to get to single digits by years’ end. Biggest strength is my short game and putting, with my iron play being my Achilles’ heel.

As promised, here is the first part of my testing. I had a quick putting session at lunch time because of a client cancellation then finished it up after I was done at 5pm today. Above you’ll see 18 balls, broken down in groups of 3 as follows:
-Pro V1x “left dash” (gamer) Tour B RX (fitted and sent to me by Bridgestone) Tour B RXS (gift) Pro V1 Chrome Tour TP5x I hit 3 rounds of putts with each and did my best to find differences in sound, feel, and line on a 20’ uphill, left to right putt. The evening putting session consisted of the same 3 rounds, but each round to a different hole. I also used the mindset system for the last round, taking a full pre shot routine for each putt. I did this with all 18 balls, not just the Bridgestones. Here’s what I found:
The Tour B RX has a similar click off the putter face to my Left Dash and the TP5x. They all felt very firm off the putter face, a feeling I am starting to realize I don’t like. The Tour B RXS was closer to the Pro V1, with a less noticeable click but still a solid feel. The Chrome Tour was muffled in both sound and feel, making it really hard for me to gauge preferences with it.
My take on Mindset for putting: it works! I only holed about 6 balls out of the 3 rounds of 20 footers (54 putts) while hitting the putts for sound and feel, but I holed out 8 of the 18 using Mindset! The putts felt more well struck, my lines were holding to what I’d visualized, and my misses were a lot smaller. 4 of those 8 holed putts were with the Bridgestones. I felt like the focus on that green dot really helps me automate the putting stroke and make a fluid swing that produces good rolls.

I’ll post more after Thursday and Friday when I take them to the sim!

Completed the CG water test on the Bridgestone Tour RX golf balls.
    Unofficial / Official review
First impression out of the box, they felt ruff, mind set graphics were ok and the white color was on the brighter side when compared to some other balls.
I set up my testing station, dissolved a ton of salt in the water and began the test, very first ball was NOT balanced properly, you will see in the video how it actually returned to the same spot where I had marked it after the first drop/spin.
Overall 2 out of the dozen were out of balance(CG) - Have fun with the video and pictures. Let me know what you think.
I had an issue uploading the video and photos. I will try in another post

    Good morning all,
I am excited to have been chosen to test the new Bridgestone Mindset golf ball.  I wanted to introduce myself and give everyone a bit of information about me and my game.  I am 71 years old and a semi-retired dentist.  I still enjoy going into the office and treatment planning complex cases with my younger partners.  For hobbies I golf (duh), ski and distance bike.  I have been playing golf since I was 9 or 10 but never took lessons until I was an adult.  I am still trying to break well ingrained bad habits LOL.  My handicap index is currently 12.9.
I walk 18 holes twice a week using my MGI Zip x5 caddy.  I started using Shot Scope last year for the ease of distance measurements and the analytics.  I used to use Arccos sensors, but prefer no annual fee.  My clubs are Callaway Paradym X Driver, 3 wood, 5 wood and 4 hybrid.  Irons are Miura CB 57 5-PW.  Wedges are Edison version 2 51, 55, 59.  Putter L.A.B. Mezz 1.
I just finished 18 holes at my course, Simsbury Farms.  A brisk New England day... 45*, overcast with gusting winds.  Was nice to get inside!

ALL others testing this ball are welcome to piggyback on this thread!
    In the beginning...
04/04/24 - I received a package when I got home, and my boss lady immediately asks, "You didn't buy MORE golfballs, did you? " I replied, "Nope! not this time anyway!" I then tucked them under my arm, and briskly walked into the kitchen and shredded the little brown box they came in...
    Ta-Da !

This box was very different from the prototype balls mini-test I did with the new Tour B last year.  This one is shiny, and has these cute little dimples all over it... (I quietly shouted in my head, "YES! I got the consumer version!") You can read that test Here
I opened up the box, and there was a little card, qr code, and all of the ball peepers in the sleeves had these googly eyes staring at me! ( I think they were trying to hypnotize me!) Even the ball sleeves were dimpled!

stay tuned... as we will soon dive deeper into the " Mindset " behind these balls!
