  1. That sucks @Shankster. Makes my tree coming down pale in comparison.
  2. Thanks guys. I had the tree company that took out the two 30'+ pear trees in December over to quote and I don't think the guy even looked at it. He wrote climber on the quote...there's nothing to climb. Plus, flush cut the stump...it's sitting 90° in the air from where it would normally be. They wanted the same amount to clear the tree on the ground as what they charged for dropping the other two. I'll be calling them this morning. I had another young guy come out and he's got the job. He does this as side work as he works as a tree guy for a large company. $300 for the job. He may or may not be able to get the roots out of there, it all depends on if I can get all the dirt off it, so I'll be using my pressure washer to blast it clean.
  3. We had what I suspect was a tornado come through at 6pm on Sunday night. We lost power and it was finally restored at midday yesterday although the internet is still down. Fortunately the battery backup sump pump worked great and was still going strong when the power came back on. But, the worst part was we lost another tree. A big willow that gave a bit of privacy to our pool. Another fortunately, when it went, it went in the opposite direction of the pool and the fence I replaced from the last tree coming down. I've called the tree company because I started cutting it yesterday and realised that it's just too big for me.
  4. Welcome @Detonator. If you want to play with a couple of us on September 1st, check here: https://forum.mygolfspy.com/topic/24925-ohio-getogether-september/page/11/?tab=comments#comment-564636
  5. From my understanding they may have...but when a guy hits driver about 80 yards, then FW about 60 on a par 4 and looks to be about 100 in the shade. This was the first time I have seen it that slow and as my rounds don't cost me anything, I can just bail when I feel like it.
  6. My club, Windmill Lakes in Ravenna. It's not normal by any means, just a group or two that shouldn't have been playing the course.
  7. I actually bailed after 11. The play was so slow the GPS in my playing partners cart said we'd finish at 7:45pm...we teed off at 12:35pm. Some people should not be playing this course even from the forward tees.
  8. Congratulations! As for my random thing, with the handicap revision out yesterday, mine dropped from 16.2 to 15.7.
  9. Could I be upgraded from Tester 18 to Tester 19 please?
  10. Another one of us with a great head for radio!
  11. That's it? One photo of the course and none of your heads??
  12. Like absolute . I don't know who was playing but I don't think it was me. Shot a smooth 100. Couldn't get off the tee or hit any other shot except with the putter. I suspect I put too much pressure on myself to play like I have been and it just fell apart.
  13. Congratulations again to the testers for going through the ropes for as long as this review/competition is. And congratulations to @JohnSmalls.
  14. Congratulations Mrs B!
  15. It really does look better in person...
  16. I don't know if I could get rid of my farting dog!
  17. Par 3 #8. Hit a 167 yard 6 iron to miss my first hole in one by about 4".
  18. Played so much better than Saturday. The people I were with were good company and I found a good rhythm. I ended up with an 84 with 3 penalties due to knowing exactly where the ball went but not being able to find it. Although there's something odd when you see others in the same spot playing a different hole and you can't find your ball...I hope they hit them in the water. Anyway, the driver continues to be a crowd pleaser in most respects and I have now smashed my previous long drive twice. Hit a 289 yard drive on #3 and a HUGE 297 on #4. The par 3 #8 was the highlight of the day, leaving this for birdie...about 4" short of my first hole in one.
  19. You all suck did a great job!! There may be winners and not winners with a points system, but you're all winners in this challenge.
  20. I played terribly yesterday for a 96. No rhythm at all and I found that with half of my irons, the grips had somehow worked themselves about an inch over the end of the shaft and were starting to twist. I've been using Pure grips for years now and this is the first time that's happened. It was the 8 iron last week, which I fixed, but I should have looked at the rest of them. I re-did them all when I got home. The highlights of the day were some of my drives, down the middle or just off the fairway with a new PB of 287 yards. There were drives of 270, 240, 262, 270, and 266 along with some dreadfully short ones. The CBX119 continues to impress and I'll have my review posted in the official thread later tonight because I'm playing again today and want to see if I can squeeze out a bit more info.

    Yes! putters

I'm still using my Tracy. It's the first and only putter I've bought. Got it brand new in 2010 and have used it ever since.
  22. I quit my second job at Lowe's last night. With the changes that are happening, the truck unloading will be moving to overnights (although we were told, because they don't want to lose anyone before they've hired replacements, that they have the date but not the details...BS.), after 4.5 years I hurt, a lot. So when we were having the meeting with the store manager, I tendered my resignation effective immediately. (My guys were aware of what I was doing beforehand because I didn't want to surprise them) I've already got another part time job lined up working for an attorney that is a friend of my wife Chanin. He just bought a bar with an attached drive thru, so I'll start in the drive thru at the beginning of next month (no weekends, unlike Lowe's) and when the bar opens in December, I'll transition over to there, being the only male behind the bar. I'm excited about the change and I'm sure my back and hips are going to love me.
