That's it. I'm convinced. Just placed my order.
Actually I got the X5 for the touch screen, but close enough.

I also don't like the magnet and keep my H4 in my pocket.  I am pretty good about tagging tee shots and 2nd shots but usually have to go back post round and edit more than a few putts and pin locations.  I get focused on green reading and forget to tag the putter and pin location when done.

I do have the H4- and just need to get the routine down to tag every shot. Thought it would be easier to get into my routine LOL. I didn't realize the watch automatically picked up the clubs- a nice enhancement- but i cannot play with a watch on my wrist- I always put my Garmin watch on my belt loop. I do Agree that the H4 is not very secure with the magnet- I have yet to figure out what I will do about that so I don't loose it

I now have 5 rounds in with the new V5 watch and going to try to put together my first impressions post later tonight when I get home.  First of all I really like the watch, for the most part better than the H4 that I had been using prior to being selected to test the watch.
Comparing the V5 to the H4:

Security: The most frustrating thing about the H4, is the how to secure it to your body, and how it is never truly secure when it is just held in place by  a magnet.  I only had 12-15 round with the device I believe, but I seem to knock it out of the holder almost every round.  There was at least 3 times I know that I didn't realize that I had knocked it off and had to go searching for it.  I wore it clipped to a belt loop, because the belt clip would not stay on my groove life belt.  The V5 is always nicely attached to my arm.
Aesthetics:  The V5 watch looks much nicer that than the the H4 dangling from the front of my pants.
Functionality: They both work great.  I am still learning on both devices some things seem to be easier on each device.  The H4 seems to find the satellites quicker and is ready to start the round much quicker for some reason.  The V5 has stayed on this screen a few times and had to cut the watch off and on to get it to start the round.

I am finding it easier to maneuver through all the functions on the watch a lot easier.  I still need a lot of practice on all it can do and going to focus the next couple of weeks of the review on the functions of the watch.  The score card is really nice feature on the V5 that is not included on the H4.  I believe the hole diagrams will really be beneficial on a course that I am not use to but haven't really used that much.   I really like how the last shot distance stays on the screen until you back out of that screen on the V5.  On the H4 it just defaults back to the main screen after a few seconds.  I use the last shot distance a lot to get an idea where to start looking for my ball when I don't see it.
Both devices miss some shots.  The V5 seems to miss a lot more.  I am hoping this is user error and will get better with time

Good luck to my fellow fourth flight players, @RajMahal @Samuel09152 @unccross @Cubby540 and @EMacK1961. My game has hit a rough spot the last few weeks, so hoping I can keep our flight interesting. At the end of the day, I'm here for the "tour card" bag tag.

Which model do you have. I assume you have the H4 or similar since you said forgetting to scan the clubs. The v5 does it automatically but does miss a few. When I was using the h4 I made it part of my pre shot routine. Got to where  I was tagging them and didn’t even think about it.

On the green, I try to step off my first putt and write that down on the card. Helps with editing after the round

I was sent a couple demo clubs with graphite shafts and there is a feel/smoothness as well as ease that just feels great. After some discussion with the builder we are going to built a full set. Can't wait and think it will be a great switch that could help with some of the fatigue or weak shots.. full details and build specs to come in the next few weeks!

Figured it out, I installed the app on my other phone (have two for work purposes) and I must say...I LOVE ALL THE DATA!!! 🤓

First course I played with this beautiful watch was this stunning 9 hole course, which is located right next to the Witbank Dam. Thanks Bankenveld GC for having me.

With the Garmin S62 on my left wrist and the Shot Scope V5 on the right, I went into the battle, the battle for a good score on this lengthy but nice course. It took a total of 81seconds to find the GPS and I was happy with that, it's easier to stand out side and find a signal than inside the proshop or clubhouse. I had to wear the V5 on my right wrist, because I play cack-handed and from what I have read, you must wear the watch on the hand closest to the tags when taking your grip. Didn't restrict any movement what so ever and I found it was very comfortable throughout the round. I noticed a discrepancy in the ranges on both watches on the first tee box.
I played the watch using manual putting input which I found worked actually very nice, only issue I had was when you carry 2 clubs, say a SW and putter to the green, it is advisable to maybe carry them with the tags facing to the ground, otherwise the watch reads say the putter and then it wants you to input the pin collected when you walk over the green. I figured out how to get out of that screen rather quickly on the first hole luckily.

How beautiful is this watch on the wrist  😍 I really like the low profile the watch has. What I also like is, at the top of the F/M/B screen, it shows you the time, something the Garmin doesn't do without pressing buttons. Each time you pull a different club, the watch also picks it up very quickly and indicates it to you on the top right of the screen. What I would have liked on the watch, is a screen adjustment...to make it a little brighter or maybe to change the F/M/B screens background color which will make the info on the screen much more visible.

The data you get from this watch is amazing! Editing after a round is really easy and the dashboard is very user friendly. It did miss some short shorts, for instance when you hit a short bump and run or when you struggle to get out of a bunker, but other than that, really can't complain. I'm planning to play another round on Wednesday with my father (I want to see if he can read the on the watch without wearing his glasses) before they head back to the Western Cape, and then again on Friday to get even more data, really can't wait to get more rounds and more data in this watch, it's truly amazing all the figures.

On the short game, the measurements was quite accurate, in some instances it was out but not by much 2m (6.5ft) at the most, might just be because of the pin placement. I did find it a little time consuming when I wanted to move the pin around on the green, on some of the greens it felt like I was clicking and cycling through the pin placements for a while. But I think the more you play around with it, the easier it will get. The battery lasted very well, after that 9 holes, it was left with 73% battery life. Can't wait to see what it does on a full 18.

Will keep you all posted with more updates.

I wish I could help, I haven't had that exact issue with the V5 or H4.  I have twice now, once on the H4 and once on the V5 where I was editing in the phone app after the round uploaded, the app crashed and would not let me access that round on the phone app again. It would just close down the app.  But in both cases they were uploaded , and when I went into the computer dashboard they were there and I could edit them in there.] Not sure exactly what is going on there, some kind of bug on the mobile app.

The app is really clutch for analyzing your data. Also impressive to see the challenges such as longest putt or fewest putts per round. Nice to see how your rounds go as well. Played Saturday and I was like,” I didn’t make anything”. Well the data shows that I wasn’t hitting it my approach shots well so I probably didn’t set myself up for putting success. Golf is more than greens in reg and fairways in reg!

    Hey Bob,
The very first thing I did was downloaded the app and then sync the watch.
Hit the course tab at bottom of app, showed me courses near by and then hit the three lines on the right about the box and hit subscribe to all.

Played a round in the pouring rain on Saturday.  I wore a raincoat and it was covering the watch a lot of the time unless I was checking yardages.  I noticed a couple of times while checking the watch for distances that there wasn’t a club tagged. I assumed it would just automatically tag through the jacket.  It was sometimes but missed a lot of shots. After noticing it, I tightened the cuff strap on my sleeve so that the watch was exposed.

I ended up having a pretty good round, shot 89 which is the best I’ve shot since starting back playing a few months ago.  When I got the round download and ready to edit, my watch missed 14 shots. 10 around the time I was wearing the raincoat over the watch, 1 penalty stroke not entered and the others were chunked chips or picking my wedge up in my hand before doing the pin collection.

Here’s a look at the watch accompanying the new my golf spy red rooster glove!
