  1. Cut line: +1 Low amateur: Lamprecht Can't wait for this to kick off!
  2. Working on short game again today! Worked on landing zones with short chips with my PW and then on longer shots with my 56* with both chipping and pitching. Season is opening up any day now so hoping the work pays off!
  3. Love this practice session! All feel, very little technical critiques. Mind you, if I struck it as well as Scottie, I probably wouldn't be worried much about technique either. Thanks for sharing!
  4. Thanks for the help, I'll take a look at that! With regard to adjustments, I feel like hitting off turf and grass is quite a bit different. Typically I have an issue with hitting a lot of my shots thin on a standard setup until I get used to hitting outside again. I've raised the turf that I'm standing on and made sure it's level, so I don't think it's that, and I also seem to be the only one in my group that struggles with this.
  5. Hello Everyone! I live in Hamilton, Ontario Canada, and our golf season is April - October (if we're lucky) and even then rounds are very cold and very different then playing a regular summer round. My goal over the past few years has been to get to scratch and be able to start shooting under par. I've been improving by about 3-4 strokes a year, but my concern is as I get closer to my goal, the off-season is going to have a larger negative impact on my game as the margin for error becomes less and less the better you shoot. I have a simulator in my garage that I find helpful, but it's never 100% accurate and there's always a bunch of adjustments that I need to make when I get out and start playing again in the Spring. This brings me to my question...what do you guys do to manage your offseason and try to avoid rust? Am I overthinking it and is it much like riding a bike? Or do you find you lose a lot of touch and habits that help you score? I'd be interested to hear any tips, thoughts, or ideas! Thanks!
  6. 1. I've been playing golf for about 15 years, although didn't play much throughout my twenties due to being a poor student. My handicap is currently 3.4 and my goal is scratch 2. I love being out in nature, hanging out with buddies, and enjoying the beautiful weather. I also love being competitive against myself and pushing myself to get better. 3. I saw a bunch of their reviews online on my road to becoming a better golfer and the more I dug into it, the more I love this website! My friends are all aware of it but I'm the only contributing member in my group. 4. I'm from Hamilton, Ontario Canada. We currently have a membership at Mystic Golf Course near my house which is fun course with a lot of unique holes. I love that it makes you hit every club in your bag. 5. The best thing is the Spring excitement and getting out for your first rounds of the year with the whole summer to look forward to. The worst is seeing the season come to an end and knowing you won't be able to play for 4-5 months. 6. I was a GM but currently between roles. 7. This was my username in University and so I've adopted it full time. Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
  7. I have CP2 Midsize grips throughout my entire bag. I find the grip really nice to hold and fits well in my large hands. Also, I find on almost all my clubs, it removes the necessity to wear a glove which I prefer from my 7 iron to my wedges.
  8. Modern problems require modern solutions...I appreciate your problem solving skills, trying this out now!
  9. Working on shallowing my swing on my Driver to reduce spin and better be able to draw the ball. Hoping to develop a low draw off the tee which stays out of the wind and rolls for a way. Starting to video my swing and make changes to the takeaway and transition at the top in the simulator. Hoping to commit a bunch of hours to it so it feels normal by time the season opens up in a couple of weeks!
  10. Hope you’re feeling by better soon! Golf’s definitely not the most important thing in these situations but it’s always nice to have something to look forward to. Hope you’re back out there soon!
  11. Got out yesterday for the first round of the year! 20° in March is unheard of in Ontario. Hitting off the tee took a big adjustment from the simulator all Winter but was really happy with my 100 yd wedges. Need to spend more time around the practice green to get my touch back with the putter and short wedges so hoping the warm weather keeps up!
  12. Congrats guys! Looking forward to seeing how it works
  13. Where do you find how something responds to different swing speeds? I'm leaning towards the AVX as you mentioned but my driver is typically ~120mph, so I'm not sure if a firmer ball like the left dash would work better for it.
  14. I'm not sure what your location is, but in Canada, I was able to connect with Titleist and get a virtual golf ball fitting. It's not very scientific, but you discuss your game and your preferences, and afterwards send you two free sleeves of balls based on their recommendations. I'm similar to you in that I want less spin on my full swing shots and so they sent me the ProV1x Left Dash and AVX. I'm in the process of trying them both out before making a decision, but this might help you!
  15. Thanks for the encouragement! Still a little wet and cold here but hoping the courses will open up in the next week or so and I can get on the greens. Do you practice different wedges or just your favorite? I have three wedges, AW, 56* and 60* that I'm trying to get comfortable so I have a few different shots in the bag and I can attack different situations. I'm not sure if I should be switching up between all three while I'm out there, or if I should just take turns on a practice session with each. Thoughts?
