Congrats to all the testers! I was fit into the TSR3 earlier this year, so I’m interested in what the differences may be between the generations. Happy testing!

Great post! I also played both of these courses this Summer on a stay and play package and had a similar experience. The Dye Course was great and I would definitely play it again, the Ross course, however, I was personally not impressed with as much as I thought I would be. Understanding that the Ross is 1/4 the price of the Dye, they do market them in the same breath so I thought they’d be a similar experience and they just weren’t for me. Like you said, the Ross course is painfully slow and in my opinion, if it wasn’t for the challenging greens and the history of the course, it really isn’t that special of a golf course with regard to layout or beauty. It didn’t help that we played the Dye Course on Day 1 so our expectations were very high after having such a great experience there, but I don’t think it’d be an over-exaggeration to say that it felt like I was playing on a well maintained muni at the Ross. A small side gripe for me too is that I like to collect tee’s and/or balls from the courses that we play and the Ross doesn’t provide tees for a $125 per person tee time in the cart which felt odd since I’ve played at small city courses for $25 that do this. Again a petty, small gripe but I was just surprised for the price and what the Dye Course provided.
Thanks for the in-depth review on the other aspects of the resort as well!

At this point most all of you know me fairly well, so I am going to cut right to the chase.
My name is Jamie, I am the Forum Director here and have typical up and down golf game. Mostly my putting is pretty solid, iron game has become more of a strength and my woods are some of my favorite, minus driver. Not that I don't like it, more that it can be absolutely stellar or the reason my end fails to meet expectations.
I am joining/adding to this review mainly because I got fit for the Titleist GT line a bit early and want to share my experience.
On July 10 I had my fitting in Moossee Golf Park near Bern, Switzerland.
There were five fitters there and I was fortunate to get Jannik who is the head fitter for well four countries in Europe. The guy knows his stuff!
As normal I showed up way too early, helped them get setup, had a coffee, a little warm up throwing an american football around before hitting a few shots and then it was time for the fitting to start.
I should mention that prior getting the fit we had a little demo and went over the new tech which at the time was all under embargo and they kindly asked for no photos. No biggy, I had an idea anyway and I was really there to get excited about the fit.
I was/am playing a Callaway Paradym TD with the shaft of the day. For the fitting I had the AutoFlex Dream7 in play. It had been a solid shaft for me and one that was fun to use with some mega numbers at times.
We hit 5 baseline shots and we saw 3 solid strikes with 2 of my typical misses. Which I was quite happy to see. There was a bit of rain so it was a bit tough keeping things dry and it did have a slight effect on the fitting and performance, but since I also play in the rain I didn't mind at all.
After that we went into the GT2 head with a regular Autoflex to get a like for like comparison. Straight away I loved the look and how it sat at address. Just a sharp looking head which was easily appealing. After 3 or 4 shots we had some comparison numbers and we switched out to the GT3.
In truth I kinda thought the GT3 was the GT4, maybe it was the darker overcast or the rain but yeah. Immediately I felt like the head felt heavier. No doubt this was due to the weight placement further forward in the head, but I felt like it was a bit more work. The sound and feel off the club head was the same or very similar. However the misses were more noticeable and there was definitely a bit of performance loss on those strikes compared to the GT2.
Finally we jumped into the GT4, smaller profile and much higher pitch. Was fun to hit, but again even less forgiving. Not bad, but again compared to GT2 it was clearly not my fit.
Having hit all 3 Jannik asked what one I would like to proceed with and I said it was pretty clear GT2 was the standout, he agreed and we then started with shafts moving out of the Autoflex and into the Graphite Design AD DI 6S. I actually have this shaft and have been using it since in my Paradym TD. The reason for this choice was to help with my path which has over the years gone from fairly in to out to very out to in. I have enjoyed playing a fade, but I have over corrected a bit and he wanted to find a shaft that would help mitigate this.
My feedback again was it felt heavy and that it required a bit more effort to move, the strikes were okay but a bit out of the heel. Jannik noted that I was actually lining up or setting up towards the heel. This leads me into the other part which was tricky, we setup crooked on the range as we all needed to get max length with it being a shorter range. However we still had the ropes so it was a bit odd setting up. I should have probably taking some alignment sticks, but again we have to do this on the course with tee boxes so I left it be.
After my feedback on the AD DI we moved into the CQ from Graphite Design. It was magic, felt great and things started to align quickly. We had found the shaft, now it was time to dial in the head, setting and weight.
We tried various combinations, truthfully I didn't ask what most of them were I just took the club and hit it and then provided feedback. He is the pro and the one that knows his stuff, I didn't need outside influence on what the setting was or whatever to impact my swing.
We ended up with an 8 degree GT2 head with Graphite Design AD CQ 5S, we also added 2 grams of head weight and were in C2 setting (up and draw). All of this helped improve my path by over 3 degrees and allowed for far better strikes as well as faster ball speeds and distance. To the tune of 6 mph ball speed and 14 meters of distance on carry... pretty huge.

To scratch an itch, just before we  put the driver away we put in a Ventus Red to see how that performed, short version not for me. Looked great though.
We then went into the 3-wood. My Cobra 3 wood is a machine and in truth the Titleist GT2 3-wood was basically the same. The big difference was I have greater ability to hit it higher, outside of that both were comparable on distance and performance.
However the 7-wood was a different animal. My Cobra has a slightly deeper face leading to some inconsistency in ball flight. I can hit some very low 7 woods, but also some high however it really have to work at that. The advantage of the GT2 was a consistency of ball flight and carry that felt like cheating.
We are probably a week away from them arriving  at my door and I couldn't be happier. I am thrilled to get these in the bag and see if I can start shooting a little lower with a little more consistency.
A huge thank you to Jannik for his fit, time and efforts. It was a lot of fun and felt like we really got the best options for me and my game.

    GolfSpy_Shark – Callaway OPUS Wedges (2024)
    Introduction to The Shark:
For anyone that does not know me my name is Mark Lacasse, father of 2 children, a pup named Winston (name comes from the show New Girl), and husband to my wife of 7 years who puts up with my golf addiction, which of late has not been satisfied (only 5 rounds this year so far unfortunately) but God willing I will be ramping up coming into the most beautiful part of the season here in Massachusetts. The “Shark” reference comes from nieces and nephews calling me Uncle Shark.

I have been a part of MGS for a few years and have discussed a broad range of topics with so many folks here. Several I have met and others I look forward to meeting. Luckily had the chance end of 2023 to become a part of the moderator team which is truly enjoyable even though it has been hampered the past few months with work obligations.
@GolfSpy BOS and myself (I am not the short one)

My golf game I cannot complain about right now. The times I have been out I have my woes but with substantial time off I do not see a major setback in scoring, just a little more inconsistent from time to time. If I had to summarize my game as whole, I would say I rely heavily on feel during a round and tempo. I am not someone that goes to a range a lot, I prefer working on my game on course rather than smashing a bucket of balls. When I am on course I get out of sorts when my backswing is sped up and with that I tend to get very hosely on strikes, luckily the past few years that has been few and far between because I have learned to catch myself doing it and I can break the cycle.
For a long time my game was heavily reliant on being long off the tee, scrambling to the green (especially around the green) and then hopefully draining a putt. Now I am a little shorter off the tee, far better on approach shots and when I get close to the green am pretty consistent on hitting good wedge shots close and not 3 putting.
As far as my bag, I am a pretty committed person and do not like to change to much to often. I have not changed a single club in my bag this year. My current setup is in my signature and for these wedges to take a spot as my gamers there is going to need to be a few specific things they do.
The Callaway OPUS platinum wedges intrigued me because my golf journey started a long time ago but I did not get really serious until 2018. I was fitted a few around then in 2019 for Cleveland CBX2 wedges, I had a much steeper swing at that time so the intent with those was to counteract that chunky wedge. Fast forward to 2020 I made some substantial swing changes especially in my short game, with that the CBX just were not a fit and I graduated to Vokey SM7 which are still currently my gamers. They stood the test of time and I really elevated my wedge game during that time to now where I am extremely confident with a wedge in my hand.
I have been in the market this year but just really was not sure if I wanted a change. I enjoy using my wedges for a full range of shots but my 48* and 52* are weapons for a large range of yardages and I can play several types of shots with either but I have noticed I am definitely losing some spin into the green especially on shots I would expect to see a little zip on the ball with a bounce and check. This is where I am hoping the Opus Platinum wedges shine.
    Pre-Test Thoughts:
I have said it before I will say it again, I am not a data junky, but I know when I hit a ball well, when I do not and with my swing I know what my general shop shape should be. With that said here is my testing plan for these wedges:
    1) Lots of practice at the practice green. Like I said before I do not love the range, but the practice green is another story. I love hitting wedges and putting if I have the time. I can hit full shots with wedges I know that, it’s the touch shots that these wedges need to stand out on. Can I consistently get into a designated area from 30 yards and in (ideally I would like to see myself putting the ball to 10’ consistently). I will test this out by just designating an area on practice greens and seeing if I can get that check and stop shot.
    2) Am I seeing an improvement on proximity to the hole from 90 yards and in with these wedges. I have seen my ball rolling out a little bit more then I am used to this year so on those shots 90 and in I am not able to snag those 1 putt birdie or par saves. I will accomplish this by tracking hole by hole when I play what my general distance is from the hole when I actually hit these wedges. This will be from all yardages.
I will have more as we continue on with this test but for now these are the key items for me. With that I cannot wait to get these in hand and get some rounds in with some easy knock in birdies!
    First Impressions (9/18/24) 10 out of 10
These wedges are beautiful, I love my wedges a different color then my other irons and this blue sticks out perfectly. I have been able to get out a few times and I am becoming EXTREMELY found of the low bounce option 60*. The OPUS Platinum’s only came in a few bounce options which is kind of nice for me because I didn’t have to go back and forth on options and what I wanted.

I have found that I am a little bit longer for some reason, not sure why exactly but as I have discussed in the thread the 54* is easily 10 yards longer on full shots then my previous 52*. Nothing bad just a note for me.
As far as Callaway and this club, they are claiming higher spin from these clubs. While I have not had consistent results on course (not the clubs so much but me not great shots on full shots, I am offline a little but that is all me) so I have not landed many greens with these shots. But quick data points on my launch monitor indicates some higher spin which is good. My goal will be to drop a few balls on course and get some good shots moving forward to see what we can do with this spin claim! The picture of the face below though really highlights the grooves in the face, they are pretty defined so I have no doubt the spin numbers I am seeing are fairly accurate (on top of I trust the MEVO+ when it comes to this spin data)

As far as testing goes keep following along! A lot more to come!

Greetings! My name is Nate Kuhn, and I've been a fan of MGS for a while but only recently joined up on the forums. I love tech, gear, etc and really enjoy talking shop and comparing techniques, metrics and whatnot.

How long have you been playing golf? What’s your handicap or normal score?
I started in the spring of 2022. Quickly became OBSESSED and log around 75 rounds (admittedly mostly 9 hole rounds) and practice multiple times per week. My current hcp is 9.1 (been as low as 8.2) but seems to be back on its way down.
What do you love about golf?
I find it's a casual/safe space to be competitive, work on self improvement without any need for timing of other factors (other people, etc) and so few things take such a long time to steadily improve - it's just terrific in terms of healthy obsessions.
What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies? Spent enough time reading reviews, etc I figured i'd join up and possibly have a chance to do some gear reveiws of my own. I love writing and reviewing - sharing first hand experiences, etc.
Where are you from? What is your home course? I live in Warrenville, IL - about 30 miles due west of Chicago. I play lots of the (MANY) local courses but my two favorites close by are Prairie Landing in West Chicago and Cantigny in Winfield.
What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Best is the sheer quantity of courses - there are HUNDREDS of tracks in the chicago area. The worst thing is that the population is still high enough it can be difficult to get on during peak hours and play is generally SLOW unless you play at the crack of dawn.
What do you do for a living? I'm a structural packaging engineer
How’d you pick your user name? Until recently, I moonlighted as a motorcycle corespondant for a youtube channel (the cycle report was my segment) as well as serving as head writer (of a team of 6) for their website. This just matches up with some of my other social media accounts so may as well keep using it to not have a million names around.

What’s your handicap or normal score? 14
What do you love about golf? I enjoy the challenge of always trying to improve.  And more importantly the time spent with my son.
What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Found the forums looking for some club info, enjoying reading the threads
Do you already know any other Spies? No
Where are you from? What is your home course? I'm from Morris Illinois and am a member at Morris CC
What are the best and worst things about golf in your region? Best the the access to so many fun courses to play, and how many of them have been so open to young kids playing. Haven't really had any negative experiences.

The best is the large amount of courses and the affordability of most of them. We also have some fantastic, world class courses such as French Lick and Victoria National nearby. The bad is our seasonal weather. I do play year-round, however Winters can be brutal and the Summer is equally hot and humid.

Overall, I’ve been really happy with the Kirkland balls from this season with one exception: the covers have not been very durable for me. The overall performance of the balls has been acceptable for me, and early in the golf season Costco had a great deal going on that you could get 3 dozen for around $22 at our warehouse so we snapped up a few packs. That said, my wedges do seem to chew up the covers on the balls pretty easily especially on bunker shots.

I have a hybrid that likes to chew up balls. It did the same thing to the maxflis, snells and titlest balls I've played so it isn't shocking that it chewed this one a little. Typically it's not bad but maybe there is some inconsistency in the cover.
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ at a buck a ball it's retired to the simulator/shag bag.

    - What brings you to MyGolfSpy? Do you already know any other Spies?
I had first seen some of their reviews pop up on Instagram so I googled them and fell down the rabbit hole of tests and reviews.
    - Where are you from? What is your home course?
Southern Indiana and my home course is Oak Meadow Country Club
    - What are the best and worst things about golf in your region?
The best is the large amount of courses and the affordability of most of them. We also have some fantastic, world class courses such as French Lick and Victoria National nearby. The bad is our seasonal weather. I do play year-round, however Winters can be brutal and the Summer is equally hot and humid.
    - What do you do for a living?
    I’m a Mechanical Engineer.
    - How’d you pick your user name?
I live in Southern Indiana and golf. Simple and to the point haha.
