  1. Well, it’s been 4 rounds with my repaired 7 iron….as I put my tee in the ground on the Par 3 #5 tee, my 7 iron snapped at the hosel! Yup, the same 7 iron that I waited patiently 4 weeks for the head to be replaced by Titleist. The same 7 iron that I just put 4 rounds on before it broke. This time Titleist said they would replace the 7 iron and ship it to me then I could ship the broken one back. Titleist has the best Customer Service.

Almost the same as Wednesday, BUT, as I put my tee in the ground on the Par 3 #5 tee, my 7 iron snapped at the hosel! Yup, the same 7 iron that I waited patiently 4 weeks for the head to be replaced by Titleist. The same 7 iron that I just put 4 rounds on before it broke. 3. I don’t think I’ll wear mine golfing either. I don’t need them to hear all the side noises.
  4. Date 01/04/2024 Course Name Heritage Isles Gross Score 87 Course Handicap 10 Gross Strokes over/under par 15 Net Score to Par 5 Net Score 77 Net Birdies or better 6 Longest Drive 196 SIM Round? Shot a miserable back 9(started on #10) for 47, then shot a 40 on the front 9. No birdies, 36 putts.
  5. My set wedges are Titleist T300 W43 & Gap48. I then have Edison 53 & 57’s. I use the 57 for bunker play and 45-65 yd shots. The 53 is used inside 45 yds, mostly half wedge shots. The Gap48 is for 85-98 yds and the Wedge43 is for 100-110 yds.
  6. Got my VA hearing aides on Friday. Not sure if I want to use them while playing yet. What are your thoughts? My hearing loss is not drastic. The brand is Phonak.
  7. I found this to be a bit amusing, a group called My Golfing Store, or MGS, is offering golf balls… https://offers.mygolfingstore.com/golf-ball/?affId=1020&c1=balls1230a not to be confused with My Golf Spy
  8. Thanks Matt. Hope to see you in ‘24
  9. Thanks for all the birthday wishes, especially since my birthday is Christmas Day, most folks are doing other things….LOL I did receive some goplaygolf certificates, some rock glasses with ice cube golf ball trays, a bottle of Makers Mark Cask strength(109 proof) and a bottle of Eagle Rare. and for KennyB, I did a shot of WT Honey sting on my 73rd birthday.
  10. Got my 7 iron back from Titleist yesterday. They replaced the head and reinstalled my shaft. Even thought this was just outside of the one year warranty Titleist covered it. All I had to pay was $15 shipping. Thank you Titleist, y’all are awesome!
  11. Too bad it doesn’t come with a Senior shaft……LOL Best of luck to those handling the 6x shaft….
  12. Ooops, I didn’t take pics……My Titleist T300 7 iron showed cracking and pieces of the top chrome finish missing from the toe, heel and shank. I contacted Titleist, and by their direction, took it to the nearby Dick’s who then contacted Titleist and shipped it off the same day. They said it would probably take about 3 weeks to rectify. Hopefully, Titleist covers it.
  13. I wear the Shot Scope X5 but use an MG Golf Laser for most approach shots to the green. BTW, been playing for 64+ years.
  14. We have 12 players for tomorrow’s game. S/b 42* to 60* for our game…..brrrr!
  15. A real roller coaster ride today. Shot 47/43:90. Horrible front nine, then back to back birdies on Par 4 #14 & Par 5 #15.
  16. I didn’t see any, but you can surely try. Best to be there in person.
  17. My local Dicks did not have the 48 ball pack of Maxfli Tour X……but they did sell me four dozen Tour X’s for the $99 sale price.

  21. Kentucky v Louisville, 4th quarter, 2:32 left in the game, and we currently have a tie game at 31 to 31. I had no idea that the Cats could stand up to the Cards this year….Go Cats!
  22. In 1959, the City of Frankfort, Kentucky opened a new park called Juniper Hills, located just west of the city. Juniper Hills included a Par 72, 18 Hole rolling terrain golf course and an Olympic size swimming pool. My Grandfather and his buddies joined the club and began playing every week. I was only 8 yrs old, but my Grandfather decided I was old enough to be his caddy. So I began my golfing career pulling a Bagboy pull-cart filled with Powerbilt golf clubs up and down the rolling terrain of Juniper Hills. As a caddy, I learned the rules of golf and how the game was played. My first set of clubs were a hodgepodge set of old hickory shafted clubs, leftovers from my Grandfather’s old clubs. Ones that he took to Africa when he was building a sawmill to harvest mahogany wood for office furniture in 1948-49. He was a Civil Engineer. They carved out some land in the jungles of the Gold Coast(now Ghana) for a 9 hole course and played it for their recreation. Sadly, today I only have the putter left, so it hangs on the wall above my desk at home. I progressed from the hickory sticks to used Powerbilts that were my Grandfather’s. At age 10, I got my first set of cleats(steel spikes of course). I felt like I was king of the world when I walked around the clubhouse area going clickety-clack, clickety-clack. I spent my summers at Juniper Hills, just a mile from my home, caddying in the mornings then either hawking lost balls, putting for pennies or playing in the hot Summer afternoons. I witnessed a Hole in one at age 13 when one of my friends aced the 140 yard Par 3 #6. For my High School Graduation, my Grandfather gave me a new set of Powerbilt irons. I got my Ace in August, 1985 at Pine Ridge Country Club in Winnfield, LA. When I moved to Florida in 1987, I was a 10 Handicap, gaming Nicklaus Muirfield irons. Unfortunately, I was either working, or playing with my 4yr old daughter so I did not get much time to retain my handicap and watched it slip to an 18. Fast forward through the years to now, I have been playing with a 6” steel plate, 13 screws & an inch of my left hip bone in my left wrist (ice skating accident in 1998). The inch of my left hip was to make both arms the same length again. Because of the injury, my handicap ballooned to the mid 20’s for several years, so I moved to graphite irons to reduce as much vibration as possible. I was able to get my handicap back down to 13 for a few months in 2011, but that did not last. For the past dozen years, I have been bouncing between 17 and 22. I also have two Ligaments damaged in my Left Ankle(too many ankle sprains). The Dr’s offered surgery but I declined because I was not ready to stay off of it for 4 months. I wear an ankle brace occasionally but try to play without it. I am an Accountant(Ky State Univ. 1977) that retired in Jan 2017 and now play weekdays(Mon/Wed/Fri) with a group of old farts, aged 65-84 at Heritage Isles in Tampa, FL.
