  1. I'm cool with that, Foz! We #PXG troops need to stick together. I'll leave it up to @Golfspy_TCB; not really right for me to cherry pick a good score.
  2. Don't think @MotorCityKitty is gonna be able to get one played. You can pair me up with somebody who's still a single, or we'll just ride our two man best ball with my single score. (We've ALL had to do that before... ) Thanks again for setting this up. We need more of these!
  3. USGA cares about protecting the game as they want it protected. Old men, old golf clubs, old bureaucracy. They don’t like technology, distance or anything else that affects their delicate sensibilities. This explains why the US Open is often a debacle. Can’t have anyone shoot -20 at their old money clubs. IMO USGA prefers the status quo and will defend it to the end.
  4. The USGA cares as much about “growing the game” as the NCAA does about “student athletes”.
  5. Happy Thanksgiving; Semper Fi and thanks for your service!
  6. From Alex Myers, Golf Digest: LPGA-sponsor dinner drama: The CEO and chairman of CME Group, Terry Duffy, had some pretty spicy words for the LPGA after an awkward situation at a pre-tournament event at the Ritz-Carlton’s Triburon Golf Club. Apparently, Duffy wanted to highlight some of the best golfers in the world during a speech, but when they panned to the audience, none of the 11 who had RSVP’d were there. Ouch. “It’s an embarrassment to a company of my size and an embarrassment to me personally,” Duffy told Golfweek’s Beth Ann Nichols. And he added, “I am exceptionally disappointed with the leadership of the LPGA. They better get their act together because they’re going to lose people like me over stuff like this.” Look, no one likes going to corporate gigs, but it’s part of the gig. And people like him are the reason they were handing out $2 million to the winner on Sunday. When you’re a tour fighting for more recognition/exposure/prize money, you should go even more out of your way in this area. Of course, LPGA commissioner Molly Marcoux Samaan deserves most of the blame. That's just how it goes when you're in charge.
  7. Okay; finally back to this. Can't believe this thread isn't getting more action? AWESOME, but could have been even better. I had a staff meeting deprive me of Arcadia Bluffs (South), American Dunes and a couple other Northern MI courses, and Hurricane Ian cancelled my plans to spend a week in SW FL playing probably 4-5 different tracks. Oh well, it was a GREAT golf year; on to 2023!!
  8. @cardia10 those are super cool. I don’t think I’ve owned that many putters over my whole time playing. (Well, maybe… )
  9. I’m no dummy. Played a course I know; shot the same score there a couple weeks ago. It does NOT resemble Augusta…
  10. Okay, @MotorCityKitty I did my part. Shoot a LOW number, plz! Saluda Valley CC - 11/22/22 Gross Score: 81 Course Hdcp 14 Net 67 8 birdies or better, Long Drive 262
  11. Date 11/22/2022 Course Name Saluda Valley CC Gross Score 81 Course Handicap 14 Gross Strokes over/under par 9 Net Score to Par -5 Net Score 67 Net Birdies or better 8 Longest Drive 262
  12. This is a GREAT thread. I’ll have to make a list, but probably won’t get to it today.
  13. What an amazing adventure with or without golf. Thanks for sharing!
  14. Think I’ve told you previously, but that’s the best avatar on this forum. Zeeba Zeeba Eta!
  15. Legal wrangling. It will get resubmitted. I don’t know if it has any merit, or what the REAL point of the lawsuit might be, but it’s not quite over yet.
  16. It’s beautiful. It was a sunny day, about 50 when we teed off; not too much wind. Definitely has a bit of an Augusta vibe. Not too far away, of course.
  17. Date 11/17/2022 Course Name University of Georgia Gross Score 97 Course Handicap 16 Gross Strokes over/under par 26 Net Score to Par 10 Net Score 81 Net Birdies or better 2 Longest Drive 265 Poor driving combined with even worse iron play, and there you have it. Cool course; definitely will give it another spin.
  18. First of many, or an anomaly? Who’ll sponsor the JV tournaments? https://www.golfdigest.com/story/honda-classic-ends-sponsorship-of-pga-tour-tournament-in-florida-pga-national
  19. @MotorCityKittyand myself will team up in this one. Team Name: Give us the Bird!
  20. I was talking about his contemporaries and players since. Jack & Arnie are no brainers of course. I’ll give you Faldo; Watson never made much off his name or designed courses that I’m aware of, but was certainly a more accomplished winner than Norman.
  21. There haven’t been very many “at his level”. Tiger and Phil probably made more off their image and brand, but I’d be hard pressed to think of anyone else. What Norman’s done with Cobra, clothing & course design dwarfs just about everyone else.
