  1. Regardless of anyones side on this tour and how it impacts the future of golf both PGA and otherwise there is no doubt it has done a great job of stiring the pot to get lots of people talking about the game. I don't agree with its whole grow the game, but the overall publicity that has gone along with it has certainly been a boost for the golfing world in discussion and chatter. Just look at this thread alone as it has 20 plus pages in really not that long and as a follower of this thread I'm getting a ton of notifications on it at all times.
  2. Okay so as I said I like the team aspect of it and think that it can be built upon. For starters I wouldn't change events such as The Players, Masters, US Open, PGA or The Open. They all stay as the 4 majors and well The Players and would still run as they always have. For teams I would like to see 24 teams of 8 players for a total of 192 players. Of course we do not have 192 golfers per event, but teams are required to have 4 players play each event. Which would make a field size of 96 golfers. The schedule would consist of 24 scheduled events and each team member is required to play a minimum of 10 events. This adds a bit of strategy in terms of who do you start at what course, who is stronger at a certain point in the season and so on. Need a late push do you save a start or two extra at the end of the schedule for your "star players"? With it not quite being half for required starts some golfers could have a couple extra starts if the team decides. As for the format I would like to see it much F1 with a Team Title and Individual Title. Obviously point breakdown and all that could be determined later on. I would also include 2 "Team Majors" where top 12 teams make it and all 8 players play and team points rather then individual points or scores only matter. Things I have many ideas on, but nothing really concrete is how are teams decided? Construction of teams (say 6 PGA carded and 2 KF Tour players?) and so on. I could see sponsors jumping on this purchasing or sponsoring a team. Merch could be sold and of course there could be trades or other things to spice things up. Maybe 2 players each season get dropped to a pool for redraft the following season? Or 1 PGA and 1 KFC player. Either way I think it could liven up how the current format is. Smaller fields, 54 holes could be played vs 72. Of course this is just me and what I think would be a interesting new format for golf and the PGA as well as it keeps some of the main events as is and doesn't change them as they shouldn't be. What are your thoughts?
  3. It's working now. There were 3 channels which the PGA blocked.
  4. Lol live Stream on YouTube.... Has copy right of PGA tour unavailable
  5. Not going to lie this is a rip off a thread I found on another forum, but felt the discussion was good to bring over here. Given everything that is going on and the likelihood of changes coming in the future to the PGA Tour let us take the chance to field our opinions and what we would do to change the PGA Tour in the future. Whether it be for fan experience, the tour players themselves, formats, schedules or fields what would you change or modify to improve the future of the tour. I personally would like to see the Team aspect explored more. With this I'd go more in depth on a later post, but am looking forward to see how or what everyone else would change. Note: LIV golf discussion is best in its own thread. This topic is for the PGA future and references LIV is fine, but it should not fall into a compare to what is going on right now.
  6. I said this is the LIV thread, but any opposing tour I would be against. Not because of love for the PGA tour or its product, but I believe it muddys the waters and splits the talent of the game. However! If we see changes from the pga tour because of this then maybe long term it is a good thing to happen. Maybe it forces the PGA's hand to improve the product for players and viewers or potentially makes for a evolution of the game. The team format interests me and I believe if done properly could change the face of golf in a good way if done right. So regardless of what this tour was going to be, who funded it or who is playing I don't like it and won't. The players that have left I'm very meh on. The further players that are likely to go, well they may sting a bit more. I get why they are going, them being more upfront would be nicer to hear rather then the party lines which we all know are false.... not going down that road. I won't miss Reed, other then the Ryder Cup when he was 1 v 1 with Rory I just don't enjoy watching him. Most of the other players have had their time in the sun and makes sense for why they are leaving. Bryson regardless of if I like him or not is a big name. I'd argue bigger then DJ even with his history of Majors and winning on tour. Bryson brings eyes to the sport in a way Spieth does, which isn't nothing. He is so quirky and odd that it will without a doubt be more intriguing for people to tune in to watch him. Even if his personality isn't to everyones taste. In the end I do hope LIV dies off, however we are witnessing a huge moment in golf and the game will have likely be changed forever... for better? Maybe... for worse? TIme will tell, but we certainly are in for a lot more discussion and content either way.
  7. We will find out in a matter of hours. However based on the logos and some of the press conference things it doesn't look great for it being a premium product. However having no commercials could be a major win? It's been said, but the best thing that can come of this is the PGA makes the appropriate large scale changes it needs to make golf a better product for us to watch, players to play in and move it forward. If LIV forces this then maybe in the end it isn't the most horrible thing?
  8. That's just because you have Bryson on your fantasy team....
  9. At least for now with it just being streamed i don't think it will be a huge deal. I think more if an issue if they had a larger broadcasting contract.
  10. Apparently there are descriptions for why the names are what they are too which is comical.
  11. ...no, request denied... Instead find a 2 year olds drawing and replace your profile photo. Altho that's probably better then what they came up with.
  12. Let's get back to the event. A road down what they are or are not doing for women in sports can be determined in another thread and is a touchy subject at best. I know there is a Lot going on with this and the topic of LIV has so many off shoots, but I'll put it this way as we are already on edge with it any posts that take any sort of political angle should be reported and will then be hidden. Continued posts of this nature will mean locking this thread or enabling post approval.
  13. As to keep things in one place all LIV golf threads/topics will be merged into this one. Same rules all apply. No politics, keep it to golf. As this topic is sensitive and we are going to keep discussion to golf any posts which go outside of this will be hidden or deleted. Please report any that do not follow these simple guidelines. Discussion about the backing and other more political issues can be discussed on another site or forum as we look to keep the discussion on golf for this topic. Thank you
  14. This whole thing is going to be comical, sad, entertaining and hard to both watch and not watch. It is bringing a ton of discussion to the golf world... That's got to be good in some sense?
  15. A reminder to keep the discussion to golf.
  16. I said this in the other LIV thread, but yeah I'm going to tune in for at least a little bit out of the curiousity for how bad or average the coverage is. I'm not going to set my alarm to watch, but my curiosity definitely has me interested to see how this first event goes and what the product is like. I'm not a supporter or fan of this series, however as it effects my other golf watching I feel I should at least see what its like even if only for 20 minutes. No Faldo is also a bonus...
  17. So for those who formally resign their membership, what is the process they would have to do in order to reapply to get back on tour if they chose to?
  18. A request we have put in to HQ is that we have year round testing. There are several training aids and devices that can be test over the winter and it would be good to break those off into winter to keep the testing spirit year round.
  19. Rather than waiting I'll share what I know and am aware of. JS can add to it later or if he gets a chance to. There has been a shift in how tests this season are provided and promoted this year by HQ. Where in previous years mods (meaning Rob) would be on the hunt and provide tests for the community. This is no longer the case and all testing opportunities come directly from HQ. We as a mod team have been assigned to run and manage them, but asked to leave the sourcing of them to HQ. We have been told to expect in the neighborhood of 20 testing opportunities for 2022. To date we have had 5 with one more scheduled June 17th. It has been admittedly a slower start to the season, but the communication to us from HQ has been that OEM's are more interested in Q2/Q3 slots and therefore June and July could still be slower with August/September/October being a lot fuller. Supply hasn't been as much of a issue as we have been told so far. It is more the desire to wait till later in the season for one reason or another. The other part of the equation is most our opportunities so far have been from advertisers of the main site. As per the blog they do not advertise with any of the major OEM: https://mygolfspy.com/advertise/ and testing opportunities for the membership are part of the package. Therefore we should see companies like EVNROL, motocaddy and others who have been advertisers on the blog in previous years. Although we do have a testing schedule with whats to come and what weeks products are placed in for typical seasons. With the shift this year we still have one, but again it is light as of right now. We have been told that as soon as any new tests are scheduled or known they will be posted for us to see so we can get started on our work with them. Unfortunately we cannot say what testing items are before the scheduled date we are able to make a calendar on the forum in which we can post when tests are about to be announced, when reviews are due to be posted and other news for dates if that is of interest to the community? I apologize I cannot share more, however I can only share what I know and at the moment that is all I know and am aware of. I hope that JS can further add to this conversation again as he is our Community Manager and the direct contect to HQ for the forum. Finally a big shout out to @Golfspy_CG2 for all the work he has done for the forum over the years providing tests and this season getting the Major Pools up for us as well as sourcing the prizes. He has been intergral to the community and done so much for us still in his semi retired role.
  20. My Google feed us flooded with these articles. I mean he must have more then enough money for several lifetimes so what difference would another stupid amount be?
  21. We will have a post from @GolfSpy_THV addressing this. As our Community Manager he has the most ties with HQ and the process and will update this thread.
  22. A little harder to see who is clear cut in the playoffs this year, but I'll try and give a litte insight. The top 15 in each division is easy. For Draw: For Fade: Now is where it gets a bit tricky. It is the next top 10 in points scored. So this would be likely 10 of these teams.
  23. Still today! Unfortunately even though it is a holiday have a lot of work with the season starting in a week. If I'm lucky maybe some range time.
