  1. How cow triple birthdays - best wishes fellas and many more.
  2. I used to be a participant on WRX forums but after a while it didn't provide value for me. I know a number of MGS members are active participants in WRX and it seems to work for them. Nothing wrong with either approach - the old adage "different strokes for different folks" applies here.
  3. Happened again yesterday - after playing 18 in league yesterday (see above) came home did a bunch of yard work - then my wife gets home from Bridge and says "do you want to run out and play 9 with me". Afterwards... oh the aches and pains ... ...... so I popped aspirin all night. On the other hand I shouldn't complain since she wants to golf.
  4. So you're saying your plates read GR* SUR4
  5. That's the problem when you have kids in school. I hardly ever get a cold now that we're empty nesters.
  6. Last Men's League 18 today. I played terrible on the front including a double and a triple on 2 par 5's. Ended the front with a 50. Did better on the back, including a bird on a par 5 with a 44. For a total of 94. Drives were all straight but my gap wedge just didn't want to cooperate.
  7. If they push back on the cost - send them this link = they're pretty inexpensive . https://www.rrproducts.com/C6591/Golf-Course/Green-Area/Flagstick-Accessories
  8. In northwest Ohio: Short sleeves and shorts for the next two weeks - high 70's every day. Perfect golf weather.
  9. Yup -and lessons without practice is a waste of money.
  10. Our home course is an Arthur Hills course - he creates challenging greens.
  11. Welcome from northwest Ohio. Lots of Buckeyes on this forum. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  12. Funny - but the big question: is the wedge a 56 or 60 [emoji23] Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  13. Holy cow - that's awesome! Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  14. That's depressing - regardless of the sport why would a parent tell his/her children they won't come to watch. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  15. Looks like someone wants a belly rub. Sent from my iPad using MyGolfSpy
  16. Interesting you should say that. I was at a long Par 3 over the water yesterday (strong head wind)and I did some experimenting - using some older Pro V1Xs: . A 5i (24*), 22* hybrid and my 9 W (23.5*). The 5i launch low and with a slight fade missed the green (and in the water), the 22*h launched mid and landed on the green, the 9W launched very high and I literally watched it stop in the air because of the strong head wind and of course in the water. So as a higher handicapper (21), I learned something new not only from these posts but also doing some experimenting. Up to this point, I was thinking only of club gaping vs. gaping plus ball flight characteristics otherwise known for using the right club for the right circumstance. .So my thought process is: 5i is for those low flight shots out of the rough and under trees and my 9W for those fairway shots, especially where I need to go over elevated fairways/bunkers. The hybrid for everything in between. Conclusion: I need that hybrid in the bag Thanks guys for your feedback!
  17. That'd be perfect for my natural fade
  18. Driver is generally around 200 yds. Given that I can generally get on or near the green with either my 5W or 9W on Par 4's. I'm pretty good with my short game - generally GP=95 yds and I've got my gapping down pat on my other wedges all the way down to a short chip from green side rough with my 60*. Bump and run is generally a 7i, which is really effective for me. I use irons to get out of the fairway rough and pretty effective at it. If the ball is sitting high up and I've got a ways to go I'll pull out the 5/9 Woods. As I said in my original post, I now only use my 22*H for long Par 3's only - for some reason I have more confidence off the tee in that club than a 5 or 6i.
  19. Currently carry 14 Clubs: 5W, 9W, 22*H, 5i-PW, GP,, 52*, 56*, 60*. The only time I seem to use the 22*H is off the tee on longer Par 3's. I have a number of clubs that I'm going to either sell or trade in and buy a new club(s). Am unsure of the direction to go - a new hybrid or upgrade my wedges. Note; if I'm in the rough off of the fairway I'm always pulling out an iron - although I do see guys using hybrids. My wedges are in great shape and I like them - but new shiny metal is always attractive. Also I've got a 410 Driver and a new Odyssey putter so no need there. What say you.
  20. Our local DMV (Port Clinton, Ohio) never has a line and very friendly people. - but then the town is only about 10,000 residents. However, I still register my vehicles by mail most of the time. Only go there for drivers license renewals. I use to hate going to the one in Cleveland. Their hiring practice must have revolved around finding the rudest people.
  21. What a great looking course. Just curious since there's a rifle under the slow play sign - is that the an indication of what happens to slow players.
  22. That's probably the difference. Most of the courses I play have reflectors on the flag sticks. On those that don't I've steadied my hand by leaning against the golf cart or leaned on my push cart.
  23. @perseveringgolfer just curious what the issue was with the wind. I play a lot of times in windy weather here on the Great Lakes (generally 15-20 mph) and haven't had an issue. On the other hand we do have reflectors on the flagsticks so I get quick acquisition. Wondering if there's a difference in target acquisition between my Pro model and the HD. .
