  1. Currently I pay $10 for nine holes walking as a senior at one place, 12 at another and 15 at my third choice. They cater to seniors and really give us a deal for walkers. If traveling, I'll pay up to $50 , but only if it is a nice course. It is expensive if you let it get away from you.
  2. 10 -12 for me as well. I will replace if I hit the cart path or a rock. Trees not so much.
  3. @playersbounce. Welcome to the forums. Please do continue to read and share your input in the future.
  4. Congrats testers. Have fun but we'll be reading your results. Looking forward to them.
  5. @JEFF1, regardless welcome to the forums. As you've discovered not everyone will agree and that's the cool thing about these postings. A lot of honest sharing occurs. Welcome aboard and thanks for your sharing.
  6. @delt452. Welcome to the forums and thank you for your service. I hear ya, I dropped golf pretty much until after I retired from Uncle Sam's Best. Some lessons are always a good thing if you can afford it. I wouldn't invest too many $$ in new equipment until you start to feel like you are starting to feel that consistency again.
  7. For me, time is hard to justify watching golf. My basic premise is to use what I have, to get better takes practice. I especially enjoy the practice time I can find as well as the playing time I have. I just don't place any emphasis on U Tube.
  8. @Thegrittygolfer, welcome to the forums. You've got legit concerns and this is the place where you'll read some great input. Some you'll agree with others not so much. It really is a great exchange. Welcome.
  9. Played 9 today. Not real well. Shot 43. Didn't get the driver going until the last 2 holes. Strengthened my grip a bit and that did the trick...maybe. Had some heavy rain last night so a lot of standing water throughout the course. I have a "heavy" hit tendency so wet conditions are not my fav. Did have some really nice mud balls though. Sure could have used some cart path run-outs today.
  10. @ladenj welcome to the forums. Hope you have an enjoyable round.
  11. Best of luck on your upcoming assignment. Thank you for your service.
  12. I can't dispute anything that has been said above. Only thing I can add is that I personally get the most runout whenever I hit the cart path or on the rare occasion when I'm playing along side a highway.
  13. Good luck. I feel your frustration. Some customer service reps are just horrible. Best of luck.
  14. @TrentMSU55 and @pete1276 welcome to the forum gents. Hope you enjoy as much as I do. Oh, by the way Trent... GO BLUE!
  15. OMG what a beauty.
  16. Another beautiful mid-Michigan day. Mid 60's and generally sunny light wind. My usual course has opened up and it was nice to see the grass greening up real nice. By the weekend we might be able to see a difference in the fairway vs the rough. Had an OK round of 9. I was real happy with my approach shots. Hit 7 out of 9 greens. had two 3 putts and one double b due to headspace and timing issues. It's early so I don't have any misgivings about the season. Just glad it has made it to Michigan.

  18. Chicken Soup for the Golfer's Soul and a trilogy by James Patterson about golf. All three are great reads.
  19. Played 9 holes yesterday. Really good round for me. Weather upper 60's, light breeze, full sun. Course wasn't super busy. Nice spring day. Icing on the cake was my play. First hole chipped in for birdie. Rest of play was 1 more birdie, 2 bogies, rest pars. Really happy with putting. 13 for this 9 holes. Gotta love that Sub70 004 mallet.
  20. Jack, I hear ya. Welcome to the forums.
  21. Played my first Michigan 9 holes for season 2024. Upper 60's but the wind was horrible. Gusting over 30 making it tough to judge. Shot 42 so I'm not real sad, but would have been happier if I hadn't had 2 three putts. Was real happy on a par 5 I've never hit in 2. Today I managed to, thanks wind. Missed the eagle but got the birdie so all is OK.
  22. Rented a 3 bedroom condo in Alabama for 4 weeks. Paid to have both the kids and their families fly down for spring break. Grandma's dream was to have all 6 grandkids for swimming and fun in the sun. Mar 2020 $%$#@&^%. 2 days after we got there everything shut down. The kids couldn't fly out. Total bust and $10,000 down the drain. High point was we sat on the balcony in warmer weather than covered in MI snow.
