  1. Back out to the barn to hit balls into the net. Continue to work on consistency. Also trying to work on maintaining my spine angle throughout. I find I have a tendency of lifting up before impact which causes me to a bit thin. Also rearranged the net area a bit to find a spot where I can hit my 5 metal on a full swing.
  2. Damn @Arnie C, 300-500 putts. Above and beyond the call of duty for sure. Way to go. Also welcome to the forum group. Hope you gain as many insights as you can handle. I know I've gained a lot of knowledge from these folks. And who says you can't teach an old fart a few new tricks. Again, welcome.
  3. @Ken Werner, I have no idea, but I do want to Welcome you to the forums. Good first posting. Hope you have many more in the future. Yours is a pretty specific inquiry. It may take a few days to get an exact answer but I noticed you did get some immediate suggestions from one of the more knowledgeable fellows on the forums. I think you'll discover you came to the right place. Again, welcome to the group.
  4. Welcome to the forums @KoalaDriver. Great first post. Hope to read more from you down the road. Welcome.
  5. Call me nerd all day long. Walking 14 ways AND iron covers are the way "I" prefer.
  6. Warmed up to low 30's so I was able to head out to the barn and get that ole heater flowing. Got warmed up to close to 50. Started gentle chips and then started full swings on my 8 iron, then my 7 iron. Trying to concentrate on a consistent hit. I'm trying to focus on a specific dimple, center top. First 4 shots were a bit erratic. I believe I was reacting to the previous shot. 1st was low but center. #2 high and toe. #3 and 4 again reacting to the previous. But I did see some positives in 5-10. I need to keep at it obviously, but hey, I've still got at least 2.5 months before the first course even thinks of opening. On my 7 iron my first 3 were somewhat off, but not really horrible. The rest showed improvement. Lots to work on still but also enjoying the journey. At least as best you can in the winter.
  7. I think @cnosil hit it on the center point. Regardless what the data may say on any one ball, we have to be the ultimate tester. Your swing is different from mine and the way your strike is different and...so are the courses we play on. All of these must be looked to determine the "best ball" for each of us. These results help to narrow the field down some.
  8. @Goober, I hear ya man. Our season ended Nov 5th this year. But I hate the alternative more. So hitting off a mat in my barn into a net is the best I can do. Closest indoor range is over 30 miles and frankly their rates are obnoxious just to hit balls into a net that is 30 feet further away than mine. I suggest making different scenarios and don't hit a bunch of balls. Just enough to loosen the swing so you don't get stiff, nor bored. I like to use impact tape and...ahem, try to keep it in a consistent strike zone. I never hit more than 30-50 balls at a time. Just try to make it as fun as you can to bide the time. Spring will sprung soon, hopefully.
  9. @Michael.Sandoval33, as your "small print states, yes, golf is supposed to be fun. That was one of my goals for 2024, no matter what, remember golf is fun.
  10. Man it's been a long 3 weeks. Finally the cold has started to break enough to head out to the barn and turn the kerosene heater on. Was able to get the area heated up to 40*. Good enough to get some chipping and short iron shots into the net. Felt good. Only other practice has been walking the dog 2 miles. But walking is walking, snow or grass.
  11. @MN.LeftyGolfer nice set up for sure. Just a quick shout out to welcome you to the forums. Hope it meets all your expectations. In my case it exceeded them for sure. Welcome.
  12. @Stevew911 welcome to the forum. Hope you have many more postings in the future and that you find this as a good source of "non marketing" information. As you see, lots of varying experiences and thoughts. All are welcome for sure.
  13. @Travis A in Central VA. First off, thank you for the information that you have provided. Nicely done. @nd, welcome to the forum groups. Glad to have you on board. Keep up the good input.
  14. Lostgolfballs.com is a decent place. It's been years since I have purchased any from them. I usually find enough to keep my shag bag well filled. As balls start to wear a bit, I donate them to the local range.
  15. @bbeck757, I'll leave the answers to your questions to the folks that have real experience and better input. I do always believe getting fit provides the best results. It's finding that right fitter that can be the trick. I don't always trust the "big box stores" to have my best interest in mind. Welcome to the forum. Give this a little time and let the experts digest and respond to your question. I have found many nuggets in these forums that have helped me over the years. Glad you are giving it a try.
  16. I hear ya @Rob Person. Low single digits here and then tack on wind chill, hard to head out and shovel. Too cold to even try and warm the barn up to hit net shots. Best temp so far was 18*. To cold to try. Supposed to hit low 30's Sun or Mon. Will try then.
  17. Lots of great input and "IMO"'s. Always good to hear what folks think and point out misinformation if some happens to be discovered. If you're looking for a new driver this is some good stuff. Frankly I can't get too excited about these as the cost involved is just way over the top. I'll wait for a couple of years to watch for a deal that falls into my budget.
  18. Hats off to all the testers but really a huge kudos to all the staff members who had to manage all the logistics for 79 testers. Well done all. It'll be interesting as to what and how the big "T" handles the input and if it comes to retail.
  19. @WVgolfs91 welcome to the forum. Glad you joined. Hope you get a lot out of it as I have.
  20. MG also has conforming balls as well as many times they offer Chrome Soft logo overruns and such. I personally use their gloves. Good price and I've found they last a decent amount of time.
  21. @Jim Shaw. Go for it. I know many people refuse to use covers and for them that OK. I don't like the noise as I walk and more importantly, the nicks that happen. I know often the reason is it slows pace of play. Frankly, I tallied how long it took me to remove and replace my covers for a round of 18. 6 minutes total. While on the same round the time I spent on the tees waiting for the group ahead was 32 minutes. Just saying, if you like covers, go for it. Very nice job everyone. Well done. Thank you for your input.
  22. Too much snow shoveling to find time. That and I'm just too worn out and sore. The snow covered an inch and a half of slush and ice which the snow blower does not handle. Had to grab a shovel.
  23. I guess it was 7 years ago. I was doing a search about information on Adams Golf and came upon it. Joined pretty quick. Definitely hooked on great information shared.
