  1. Cut balls are junk, but urethane doesn’t “wear off”. It is what the cover is made of, so it can’t wear off. The finish may be wearing off, but remember, you get what you pay for and these balls simply are not very good. Contrary to one of the answers you got, the Maxfli Tour balls are excellent quality, consistent and, when on sale, are a great bargain.

All things being equal I’d say, yes. With the proviso that it’s best to do a fitting/gapping. But since you asked the lower bounce 60 is a sensible starting place. 🤫

I am going to be adding either a 58* or 60* lob wedge to my bag this year during my offseason winter months. I'm looking for opinions/feedback on both loft and bounce. I don't take deep divots and want something that is going to give me the most versatility for varying lies. I saw Taylormade just released the Hi Toe 3 and the 60 comes in a 7 or 10 bounce.

I've currently got a 44* PW  & 56* SW in the bag, and will probably add a 52* gap wedge as well.

    TIA for the feedback!

Don’t guess and forget different suggestions on this thread, though intentions are good. GET PROFESSIONALLY FITTED.

  3. I have been using the long putter for 30 years and it has been a blessing to me. It cured my putting yips and also allowed me to practice my putting for as long as I want with my dicey back. I was really pissed off at the USGA for banning the anchoring of it, unnecessarily, and it took me a while to get use to using it unanchored. But now I can't tell the difference. TRY IT AND DON'T GIVE UP ON IT. Just remember to putt with your shoulders only and stand tall like Bernhard Langer , not bent over like Adam Scott.

So I’m thinking first step is to replace current 13.5 3W with a 16.5 (Titleist) or 17 (TM HL)

from there is gets dicey.  Thinking a 5 wood is likely dumb.

    7W?

2H and 5H?  Like to have something with a little better control into long par 3’s

I have been through the same issues. Went with a 5 wood and have never looked back.

  5. Do yourself a favor and look at Stack and Tilt. Nick Taylor and/or Rob Cheney You Tube videos are a great place to go. I did and did a few practice sessions with the method and started flushing shots, picked up 20 yards off the tee and full club longer with every iron. Am so comfortable with it that all I have to remember now is to set up with my weight left and keep it there. Everything else now happens automatically. Shot 73 recently and am 81 years old. Check these guys out on You Tube. You’ll be glad you did. It will change your golfing life.
