  1. @Byrnzee you're making good progress since your first post back in August 2023. Keep it up! Just don't overload yourself & get frustrated. I like your passion! Good luck!
  2. I think @cnosil & @vandyland make some good points. Overall, I'm not sure it's worth spending $600 on any driver. If it wasn't for my Callaway Subzero driver face cracking after 7 yrs, I'd still be using it. How much forgiveness do you need? So I get 5 more yards out of a new driver? Is it worth $600? I'm taking @cnosil advice & wait.
  3. Good Morning Spies! 51 Degrees at 7am tee off, a bit cloudy, but then this thing called the Sun popped out about an hour later. No wind, beautiful morning. Only able to walk 9 holes this morning, club had tournament at 8:30am. Still a nice walk. High today 75 degrees. On first cup of Nespresso espresso at home (3rd cup overall). Working from home today. Have a Great Day! Stay Warm everyone!
  4. I actually opted for Italian Deli & the Italian Sub (with Sopressata, genoa & hard Salami, and provolone. Plus some other!!! mmmmm
  5. My wedge set up - T200 PW - 43 degrees - stock set Callaway Jaws - 48 degree - "S grind" 10 degree bounce SM8 Vokey Wedge - 54 degree - "D grind" 12 degree bounce SM8 Vokey Wedge - 58 degree - "M grind" with 8 degree bounce Last year I switched out the T200 48 degree for the Callaway Jaws & really glad I did.
  6. Waldorf is a great course. It's always in great condition. See if there is an after 2pm rate on GolfNow. You will like the course.
  7. Good Wednesday Morning Spies, Chilly 50 degrees this morning in Central Florida, going to be sunny today & get to high 60's.' No golf this morning, doctors appointment. However, I may put my clubs in car, just in case on the way back from dr's my vehicle should veer into a golf course parking lot! Just saying. Wife is gone for the day or I may just venture to an Italian Deli for some pepperoni & provolone. Hmmm. Have a Great Day Everyone! Stay Warm!
  8. Can't speak for @Golfspy_CG2 @SirPrised, I have the same 3 wedge set up - GW 48, SW 54 & LW 58 degree. PW is 43 degree, stock T200 iron. Last year I had changed wedge combo from: GW - 52, SW 56 & LW 60, due to distance loss with 56 & 60.
  9. Good Day Spies! Chilly & Windy Central Florida morning. 51 degrees & windy for 7:15am tee time. We actually teed off closer to 7:30am, due to sanding (top dressing) the greens. They top-dressed, rolled & watered the greens. The greens were actually pretty good. It did warm up to 61 degrees however, wind was pretty stiff & constant. Good ball striking day & Had my first eagle of the year, chipping in on Par 5. Back home and to work! Enjoying a nice HOT cup of Espresso!! Have a Great Day Everyone!! Stay Warm!
  10. I was the youngest the four, which brought the average age down to 72 (I was 63) another youngin joined us in 2023, he was also 63yrs old. The two youngins are the ball trackers - standing behind them at tee, directing a couple of them which line golf ball was on! LOL. They walk right to their ball and play ready golf. We do converse down the fairway, we look for golf balls if lost, but they waste no time. You're in a greenside bunker, you hit out, once the ball leaves the bunker, another guy is putting. If Bunker Bob is not yet to the green another is putting. I'm usually the longest hitter of the bunch, so I'm making way my golf ball and sizing up my shot as the guys are ready to hit. these guys taught me how to play faster & to enjoy the game! Thankfully, we are all blessed with the ability to walk the course. The weekends are challenging for me as the Ranger, I see groups come out playing at 5 hour round pace and have to speed them up. Our course is rated for 4 hours. Our electric carts will let you know if you're behind as well. It's amazing!
  11. Got spoiled & play in the AM with a bunch of retired guys. We are the first group off, all walkers. These guys come to play golf and walk 18 holes in less than 3 1/2 hrs.
  12. Good Monday Morning Spies! 56 degrees & drizzling, this Central Florida Morning. It's supposed to clear up later this morning. No golf today. On 2nd cup of espresso and working from home, already putting out fires, lol! Golf tomorrow morning, finally will be back walking 18 holes. Still have a bit of a cough, but at least feeling better! Have a Great Day Everyone! Stay Warm!
  13. Congratulations @GolfSpy_KFT, @GolfSpy AFG & @GolfSpy_SHARK!! Well Deserved Gentlemen
  14. @cnosil makes a good point, if you feel you have a good gap, why change. @Josh Parker makes good point Add 48 degree wedge & replace 50 degree with a 52 degree. Short game is approximately 60% of your scoring. Good Luck!
  15. Like @Tom the Golf Nut I generally don't lose a ball & can play it for a couple of rounds. One round you have a couple of brain farts and lose a couple.
  16. Congrats @Rob Person. I've now been doing the Marshal/Player Assistant for 7 months & love it and know you will as well! It can be a bit trying at times, so leave your weapon at home . Great part-time job to segue into retirement. It's a fun job, great break from the regular job. Congratulations @JAYER38 to you and your wife! God Bless! @cnosil prayers with you after your surgery!
  17. Good Thursday Morning Spies, Another chilly Central Florida morning, 49 degrees at 7am. No golf today, still getting over flu bug, ugh! Up to 56 degrees & sunny! Drinking some hot green tea & enjoying Perry Mason reruns, LOL. Looking forward to the community call this afternoon. Have a Great Day Everyone! Stay Warm!
  18. Congrats @rkj427 & a positive outlook for retirement. I'm looking forward to the same this year as well. Can't believe it's here. All the best RK!
  19. OMG I'm older than Jason's father. Now I'm crying
  20. You stated it well @Golfspy_CG2 - such a horrific disease. MIL spent 7 yrs with us, last two yrs was bedridden. She didn't know anyone, but she smiled & laughed a lot. As @CFreddie stated how "almost" common Alzheimers is. Kudos to @ILMgolfnut for your research! I had a doctor client who has been doing Alz research. His research has identified a gene that is lost in Alz patients. In their study, they found an alarming stat - 25% of people on statins for 20+ yrs will develop Alzheimer's. They believe the statin kills a specific gene in some people and does not regenerate. Keep up the great work IL!! We have to beat this disease!
  21. Good Tuesday Morning Spies! Another chilly Central Florida morning, 46 degrees. No golf this morning, have a bit of a cough & sinus starting to clog. Uh oh! On first cup of espresso. Working from home today, to cold to go to office LOL! Happy Anniversary @ejgaudette , enjoy your dinner tonight! Have a great day everyone! Stay Warm!
  22. I'm down to 10 putters. Gave two putters away last year, to family members. I did purchase another to replace the now-retired Scotty Cameron Newport 2 putter. Replaced it with a Scotty Phantom X5.5 putter. My wife did refrain from asking why I'm not using one of the 10 putters already owned & sitting in my office. I love that lady!
  23. Good Question Josh! Honest answer for me, the game became less fun when I broke the scratch handicap barrier. Yes, it was fun/challenging to get to a +2. Then maintaining that level became a grind, I have competitive personality and expected a lot, the perfect shot, the perfect round. Have that bad round, what did I do wrong? we are always trying to get better. In late 2015 suffered a minor shoulder injury, and fell while carrying my golf bag during a morning round. Followed that with two foot injuries - Achilles tendonitis & plantar fasciitis. The plantar injury was painful & hit me during a Senior Qualifier, it was disappointing. This may sound ridiculous, but the Plantar Fasciitis was the best injury, because it made me appreciate the game after not being able to play for three months. It slowed me down & made me appreciate the game which I've always enjoyed, but was taking for granted & forgot to have fun. Now, I have fun. I play golf with some great older gents at the club I belong. They have fun playing. They've taught me a lot! This MGS site has also been great & put another pep in my step. I really enjoy the people, discussions & comments.
  24. @GolfSpy BOS suggestion - son of gun, the other 20 sheets of drywall are in & we are out of drywall nails. Have to go to Boston for a few hours to get these special nails. Better take my golf bag along as well.
  25. Great article Jason! Like the video showing the stretches! Well done!
