  1. Driver & short game (wedges), best part of my game!
  2. My favorite sunglasses are the Oakley with golf lens. I'm not sure what the frames are, just can't remember. Now the lens getting full of bubbles & needs to be replaced, cannot see out of them. My wife says it's from my greasy Italian forehead I currently wear the Peak Vision sunglasses, which I really like. I've had them since 2015, but the lens at the top is also starting to bubble like the Oakley's. Peak Vision has since gone out of business.
  3. @Rob Person, this is what's great about MGS Forum. The little things in golf you don't think about & just do. I use plastic tees & keep 3 tees in my pocket. Martini Tee (Pink or White) for driver a smaller 2 5/8" tee - fairway/rescue clubs one short mini tee for Par 3's BTW, this is like my 4th Martini tee since 2015. They are durable!
  4. Jamie, you all have knocked it out of the park! Excellent job! Thank you goes out to you and the entire MGS Staff!!
  5. Definitely work has cut into practice time. Regular job & part-time weekend job, even though my weekend job is at a golf course, I don't get to practice as much. My practice time is to take the opportunity to walk 18 holes 2-4 mornings a week. One little issue also has cut into practice the past 2 months, sore left elbow. Limit my playing golf to walking 18 holes.
  6. Good Monday Morning Spies! cool 62 degree Central Florida morning. Slow start to Monday after busy Club Championship weekend of work. No golf until tomorrow morning, working regular job this morning and drinking much needed espresso! Happy Birthday @Josh Parker, have a great day! Have a great day everyone! Stay warm & Hit’em straight!️
  7. One thing that could be helpful to others, about testing products, if we continue to use the items, is to give periodic updates. I'm really enjoying TheStack System. I took a couple of months off because I thought I injured my left elbow. It turns out to be a gout-like symptom & not a muscle or tendon tear. I've not gone into a full training session yet, just making sure my left elbow is ok. However, I use TheStack regularly, including doing the warmup exercises just about every day. TheStack warm-up routine Dr. McKenzie devised, is excellent. There are at least three of the warm-up exercises I use before playing a round of golf. Has TheStack made a difference? Yes! and in a number of ways. One of course is Speed being first & foremost. For me, TheStack also exposed some swing flaws. This has been challenging but fun putting a pep back in the step and seeing progress in making the corrections. Re-training the body to break bad habits. it's frustrating but rewarding. I haven't made a 30yd improvement like @TCMP which is awesome, but I've seen an improvement of 7-10 yds with many clubs and with more consistency. The interesting thing I've learned about testing golf equipment, is if we continue to use it, how does the equipment perform past a 2 or 3-month testing period? Are we still using 6 months or 1 year from testing? If so, are we seeing the same or any new results? I've used TheStack club with 70, 100 & 170 grams. I'm seeing an increase in speed performance by 3-5 mph with TheStack. One of the swing flaws I found - as I'm making my downswing, I pull my chest back causing me to come up, losing my spine angel, which keeps my right shoulder from moving downward and to the left. It's almost like I have a natural fade swing. 2nd flaw, I think contributes to the sort of standing up or pulling my chest back in the downswing, I found I'm not turning properly to start my backswing. Too much movement with my head moving to the right, consequently I found I was not turning, but swaying my body most of the time. I put 60 grams onto TheStack club, standing in front of a mirror, take my set up and I started looking into the mirror during the takeaway. Trying to train my body to keep the posture, and engage the hips. Then took a couple of videos simulating a driver swing with TheStack club, 60 grams, then 70 then 170 grams to make sure I was not moving the head all over the place, causing a sway vs a turn. Wow, it's a work in progress but it's working. TheStack has been quite revealing. Initially bruised my ego with the loss in swing speed of about 10mph from just 5 yrs ago. Was it Age? Injuries? Bad habits? Yea, all three combined, LOL. Amazing how testing golf equipment changes our perspective about golf & the equipment we use. Won't bore you all any more this evening.
  8. Very sorry for your loss @buckpillar! My deepest condolences to you and your family. Thoughts & Prayers are with you all!
  9. I like the ProV1 as well @GregB135 and do still play it. However, when the weather gets cold, I don't like the feel of the ball. Agree with you about the Elixr, I didn't like the feel either. I'll also play the TaylorMade Striped ball. I think it's a bit firmer than the VeroX1 and it's also more expensive. OnCore has good pricing!
  10. Good Friday Morning Spies! Rainy Central Florida Morning, 65 degrees. Delaying Ranger duties this morning. Rain is supposed to pass about noon time, then head to golf course. No golf today. Finishing 2nd cup of espresso and working my regular job this morning, good catching up. Catholic Spies remember, it's Friday, no meat. One more Friday! LOL. @GolfSpy_KFT hang in there, my friend from MN texted me a photo this morning, they got 7 inches of new snow! Ugh! Have a Great Day Everyone! Stay warm & stay dry.
  11. Thanks @Shrek74! I've tried the Snell & Vice as compared to the VeroX1 and I still go back to the VeroX1. I'm still amazed & impressed at the performance of the VeroX1 in the cold weather.
  12. My last post above was January 3, 2024 concerning the Vero X1 golf ball and its performance in cold weather. Yesterday morning, the temperature at 7:25am tee time was 46 degrees. It was cold, but very little wind. Was it a fluke back in January playing the VeroX1 ball in the cold weather? Short answer - NO! I wanted to play a lower compression ball in the cold weather so, once again I decided on- OnCore VeroX1 compression runs between 80-85. The bottom line, I'm really impressed with the golf ball, especially in the cold weather. The feel of the ball off the club is really good. The VeroX1 ball doesn't feel like a rock. Distance-wise, you're going to lose distance in the cold weather, but in my opinion, you have to compensate & play for that loss. My general rule is to add 10% to the yardage, in the cold weather. Putting - I felt like I never lost the feel of the ball off the putter, due to the cold weather. Here are a couple of photo's of the ball used for the 18 holes. This is the 2nd round using the same ball. The wear is not bad. There were a couple of bunker shots. 3 full Lob Wedge swings. I'm still impressed with the feel & performance of the OnCore VeroX1 golf ball.
  13. BEST 1). Hogan Apex Pro Irons - If USGA didn't change groove rule, I'd still use them. 2). Callaway Paradym X Driver! Mama Mia! 3). Sqairz Shoes - Shoes are very comfortable & their customer service is excellent. 4). FingerTen Gloves - The gloves are durable. I use them for everyday play & all year round. Normal glove hand is "Left" hand. Before this past winter, I purchased "right-handed" gloves as well, due to cold weather. First time I've played golf with two gloves when not raining and loved them! 5). Scotty Cameron Newport 2 Putter. I've always wanted a Scotty putter & won a Newport 2 putter. Just stop using the putter and now displayed in my office! Worst 1). Sketchers Performance Max golf shoes. The shoes lasted 3 mos & 3 days from date of purchase. Their customer service was terrible. 2). Elevate 105 golf shafts. Not True Temper's fault. Found a Callaway pre-owned iron set I wanted. I changed golf shafts from Rifle 6.0 stiff to the Elevate 105 stiff shafts already installed in the pre-owned set. (Note to self, listen to your club fitter!) 3). Mizuno MP001 Driver. Aesthetically looked good. Couldn't hit it worth a darn! 4). TaylorMad Roho III putter 5). Wilson Deep Red FS Fluid Feel Irons with stiff Fat Shafts.
  14. Great Forum Call today! Phillip provided some great insight! Enjoyed the call!
  15. Good Thursday Day Spies! Congrats Jamie! @ParFore74x stated it nicely! Thanks for all you do! A late day post due to working the Club Championship at our Club. Had to be at work at 6am, with 56 degree temps, BRR. But did wake me up running carts! Fun day & fun to watch the Members, who play every day, suddenly start grinding. The extra waggle on the tee, the 2nd & third look & now grinding over those 3 & 4 foot putts. Saturday is the final round and another 6am workday start. No golf today, but made it home in time for Forum Call this afternoon. Great to hear you are doing well after surgery @BreakfastBall15 ! Have a Great Day Everyone!! Stay Warm & Hit'em Straight!
  16. Good question @Shapotomous! My go to grip is the Golf Pride Tour Wrap 2G - Jumbo. However, due to the weight of the jumbo grip, I've had to find lighter grips and really struggling to get the feel & keep the club weight in the right weight range. I like the feel & durability of the Tour Wrap 2G is much better. I'm currently trying out the Golf Pride CP2 Medium Grips & building them up close to the jumbo size. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the same feel & durability.
  17. Good Wednesday Morning Spies from a chilly, no COLD Orlando morning. 46 degrees! Where did spring go? Will be walking 18 this morning when sun rises. Thankfully no wind just COLD! Have a thermos of HOT espresso! Stay warm & Hit’em straight! ️️
  18. Congrats Testers! Looking forward to reading all your reviews! Thank you MGS & Ping!!
  19. Good Tuesday Morning Spies from a chilly Central Florida! 54 degrees right now and dropping to 51degrees over next hour. Is this Winter Park, Colorado? Brr. Nope lol. No golf today. Working from home. Making fist cup of espresso!! Have a Great Day Everyone! Stay warm & Hit’em straight ️️
  20. Congratulations Jamie @GolfSpy_APH!! Thanks for all you do!! Including hosting the Forum Calls in the middle of the night, your time ! Great milestone! Looking forward to your 20K Milestone! Hope Ping doesn't come out with a 20K Driver at that time Congrats!
  21. @Skrizan do you know if your friend was fitted? What golf shaft were they fitted with vs what is in his existing Cobra Driver? It's possible to hit one or two drives 295-300, but I'd agree with you to increase average 35yds? Hmm
  22. Good Late Monday Morning Spies! Lazy Monday morning. No golf today. 77 degrees & cloudy Central Florida morning. We are expecting rain today and for temps to get colder this week. Busy weekend of Ranger duties. Shotgun start yesterday morning, followed by a full field St. Patricks Day tourney, so an early start to Sunday and a late finish to the work day. A Fun day yesterday. Cart girl didn't show up, so I got to be the "Cart Guy" for the afternoon tourney. (No, I did not have to wear a dress). Got a lot of compliments though, followed by a lot of laughs. It was fun. New respect for the Cart Girls/Ladies. Working from home today and hope to get to the range tomorrow. It's Club Championship week at our course, so limited golf, but some additional work hours available. Have a Great Day Everyone! Stay warm & Hit'em Straight!
  23. My choice would be Titleist for one brand. The T iron series are nice & I just had a Titleist iron & wedge fitting and very impressed with the clubs. With the T Series, Titleist designs, they are not afraid to mix fit to get to the launch and speeds needed. Impressive. My fit resulted in T200 irons (which I'm currently playing) 6 iron thru Pwedge & T350 for 5 iron. Recently I purchased a demo T2 - 19-degree rescue and am very impressed with the club. It seems to be solving the gap from 3 wood to 4 rescue. Wedges: I'm partial to the Vokey Wedges (although the new Pings are quite intriguing). Have not tried the Titleist Driver or 3 wood, though. So Titleist would be my choice.
