  1. Living in Central Florida, there are a lot of great courses. Resort courses such as the Disney Courses, Waldorf, Ritz Carlton, Bay Hill to name a few, are great! I've played in some nice courses in some US Senior Open Qualifiers, Ocala area with some great courses! Adena & Golden Ocala & the PGA courses in Palm Beach area, oh my! Florida has great courses. I really enjoy the golf courses in Las Vegas. A buddy of mine & I would go (with our wives) to Vegas annually, while the wives would be gambling & we'd go and play golf. Vegas has some very nice courses, great conditions, and great scenery. Bears Best, in Vegas, is one of my favorites. Had a client who ran a golf academy out of Las Vegas National, in the 90's, that was a fun course. The Vegas home used in Goodfella's was on Las Vegas National. The desert courses were challenging, different & fun! With the Vegas thinner air, the ball goes, and inflates the ego. LOL. Haven't played any courses in North or South Carolina. As @Tom the Golf Nut stated South Carolina is the Mecca of golf. One day will make my way up there and back to California. California has great courses as well!
  2. Good Wednesday Morning Spies! Another chilly Central Florida morning. 49 degrees at 7am tee time. The lack of wind made for a nice walk for at least 15 holes, then the wind picked up and into us, brrr! LOL. Putting was still cool today, although shot a 1 over round, ball striking not bad. Enjoying a nice HOT cup of Espresso right now. Working from home. Have a Great Day Everyone! Stay warm!
  3. Happy Birthday Gentlemen! Have a Great Day!! @Digiburdie wait till you get into your 60's! 49 isn't old
  4. Good Tuesday Day Spies! It was a chilly Central Florida Morning, 43 degrees at 7am tee off. But no wind & the thing they call a "sun" was out. It was a nice 18-hole walk. The golf was not too hot, putter was still a bit cold, 2 over round. Working from home today. Thought I'd stop at the store on way home to buy batteries for garage door opener. 45 minutes later dang garage door opener still doesn't work, with brand new batteries. UGH. @skraeling John Pinette is hysterical. Kind of eerie, Just yesterday a friend emailed me one Pinette's standup routines - "Chinese Buffet" - The guy is funny, including the one you posted. Have a Great Day Everyone!! Stay Warm & Hit'em straight P.S. Happy Birthday @EasyPutter
  5. I like the spikeless. Had switched to Ecco spikeless shoes years ago, after Freddy Couples was using them. Two years ago I switched to Sqairz Shoes which has 3 soft spikes on each shoe and I really like the Sqairz. The Ecco's are worn out & bought a pair of FootJoy Flex spikeless shoes and like them. The Flex is not really waterproof & not made for walking the course in the Florida mornings, with how wet it is from morning dew.
  6. Congratulation Testers! Look forward to reading your comments about the Edel Putters!!
  7. @ILMgolfnut & @IndyBonzo This is great! Going to enjoy seeing the end product! Good luck Gents!
  8. Jason, a good short game video is Michelson's Chipping 101. My personal opinion, it's one of the better videos. From set up to the swing & illustrating making sure the clubhead never passes your hands, through the chip, which can cause those thin shots. Good Luck!
  9. Good Monday Morning Spies! A Cool, Cloudy & drizzling Presidents Day Morning in Central Florida. Not to mention 51 degrees, brrr! All this rain, no golf today, course will be cart path only when it opens later today. Rain should subside this morning, so going to walk 18 tomorrow morning. Trend across America, after reading the threads, it's cold! Finishing up 2nd cup of Espresso. Going to work from home today, although many companies will be closed for holiday, so a catch up day! Have a Great Day Everyone! Stay warm!
  10. I'm at 812 Rob (well 813 now)
  11. Congrats on the 1,000 Milestone Norm!
  12. @Shrek74 comments are spot on! The Camaraderie! The Good Morning Thread, a great way to start the day. Nothing negative, we express our ideas or opinions & it's an open forum. Initially, what attracted me to MGS was the golf ball reviews & chart listing a menu of golf balls with their specs. Learning about the golf ball - 3, 4 or 5 piece ball. Then started reading more golf info, listening to the Podcast - enjoy the commentary, the banter & the Golf Talk! Now, the Thursday Forum Calls. Matt keeps me in stitches! LOL. I read previous posts above about changing to Sqairz Shoes. Yep, MGS was my influence after conversing with the engineer & founder of Sqairz Shoes in an MGS Forum. That was cool That's not going to happen anywhere else, speak to the owner. I tried the shoes and now, I only wear Sqairz Shoes & love them. Forum testing opportunities! WOW! Having participated in two tests last year, plus the Titleist White Box test, it's an awesome opportunity! I would have never thought about playing OnCore Golf Balls. An OnCore Ball testing opportunity came up, I visited the OnCore website to read about their golf balls, before signing up. Saw Eric Compton endorsed the ball. Liked the specs of the ball. Was chosen to test VeroX1 OnCore ball and liked it. Learned about how to test a golf ball. We've all hit hundreds, no thousands of golf balls. But how do you test a golf ball? How to use technology, with testing, was challenging for me (LOL). Second testing opportunity was testing TheStack Speed System. Speed training, is something of interest to me. Read about it before signing up & saw Matt Fitzpatrick was using the System. MGS arranged for the testers to speak with the Founder, Dr. McKenzie. Whoa! It inspired me even more. Speaking to the owner of TheStack or Sqairz doesn't just happen. If you love golf, want to learn & interact with like-minded people, this Forum is certainly the place. Given the growth over the past couple of years with MGS, they've hit it out the park! Thank you for allowing us to share our passion - Golf!
  13. I was one of those who erupted after a bad shot. With all the practice, hitting the ball well at the range, how could this happen? Oh the bad luck! Whaaa. Recognizing this was unhealthy & was a negative & a hinderance for my game, I tried to remedy it. It wasn't easy. Looking back, my golf buddies were extremely tolerant of my antics. I read the books to try and change my mental game. A couple of books did have an impact (Every Shot Must Have a Purpose), not to mention a retired NFL QB (May he RIP) changed my mindset, especially on approach shots. So you didn't hit it inside of 10ft, you have a 20 footer for a birdie. In your case, the worst case you walk away with a par. He was right. It was that simple. Now I look at the bad shots as a challenge. How do I recover from the poor approach? from a plugged bunker shot? from a pulled drive? @TJ Hall very good article & correct, watch how the ball reacts past the hole for a hot chip around the green. That is something I do religiously. I'm going to try & save par, tell myself I made a good chip. You're not perfect. Show patience in getting out of trouble. You're not Tiger, you're probably not going to pull off hitting a 6 iron out of a bunker over water & trees from 210 yds. What are the options to give yourself a chance to save par or make a bogey at worst, then move to the next hole?
  14. There is a lot to learn & MGS is a great teacher, LOL. I don't subscribe to anything on YouTube, I didn't realize subscribing was a popular method. It sounds naive. I just use Youtube to listen to music during the day like: Easy Listening Piano & Classical Music, while working. Rodney Dangerfield & Robin Williams clips from The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson Show Dean Martin Roasts Listen to Sinatra & Dean Martin when I want to hear specific songs
  15. Good Sunday Morning Spies! Cold Rainy Central Florida morning, 56 degrees. No golf today, Ranger duties cancelled. A lot of rain yesterday & continued all day & night. So, on 2nd cup of espresso. Watching LPGA Euro Tourney & Patty Tatavanakit (Love that name) dominating. PGA at Riviera CC, looking forward to watching that as well. Have a Great Day Everyone! Stay warm & stay dry!
  16. Good Friday Afternoon Spies! Late posting, early start to Friday with having to work golf tourney this morning & tomorrow morning as well. Absolutely love all the Morning Thread posts! Over three pages, my has this thread grown! Welcome @USMCSnyper, this is a great site, great people! Hope you enjoy! Nice Central Florida morning, 57 degrees at 6:30am not too much wind. Nice day overall. Did throw my clubs in the trunk this morning, but real job got in the way this afternoon. Have a Great Weekend everyone! Stay warm, Hit'em straight. Like the photo's & movie of the white stuff, brrr!
  17. Good Thursday Morning Spies! Cool Central Florida Morning, but no wind - 57 degrees at 7am tee off, made for a nice 18 hole walk. The only thing that was cold, was my putter! LOL. @Rob Person prayers for your wife's surgery! @Javs - Happy Birthday!! Enjoy your day! @Swood1994 Congrats on your promotion!! That'll put a pep in your step! Have a Great Day Everyone! Hit'em Straight & Stay Warm!
  18. I've become a fan of the HZRDUS Black 6.0 Driver Shaft. I thought it would be too stiff, but turns out it's the best driver shaft I've played. Haven't tried the LZ shafts, but used to play Project X 6.0 iron shafts and really liked them. Then was fitted for Elevate Shafts, did not like them. Latest fitting was AMT Black iron shafts in T200's, over the LZ shaft. I was suspect of the AMT Black after the Elevate, but I like the feel.
  19. Good Wednesday Morning Spies! What a Wednesday - It's Day, Day & Ash Wednesday (Catholics). 47 degrees & sunny this Central Florida Morning! No golf today, getting home inspection & a/c maintenance. Too cold anyway . No meat today - mmm make some macaroni & cheese! On 2nd cup of espresso. Have a Great Day Everyone!! Stay Warm!
  20. Good Late Tuesday Morning Spies! Windy Central Florida morning, which made for a chilly 7 am tee time, 60 degrees. toughed it out, made for a good walk & challenging weather, even par round. Putter got cold too! LOL. Have a Great Day everyone! Stay warm! Congrats to the TaylorMade Driver Testers, what an awesome opportunity! Ciao!
  21. Congratulations Testers! Looking forward to reading your opinions! Enjoy!!!
  22. Great looking wedges. I like the Grind selections! Ping has some eye-catching wedges & the S159's are really sharp.
  23. Demo'd a Titleist TS2 Rescue yesterday and used it again during this morning's round and loved it. 19 degree Rescue, with Tensei 70 gram Stiff Shaft. The ball just jumps off the face. It was really windy today and used the rescue club in place of the driver on most holes. Very impressed with the club, so I bought it. The TS2 Rescue will replace the Callaway 5 wood Razr Black 19 degree, which has occupied my bag since 2014. Excited about updating the clubs in my bag. Going to keep the setting at the stock 19 degree for a week, then try a stronger setting at 18 degree.
  24. Good Monday Morning Spies, Sorry been awol for a couple of days, early Ranger Duties since Friday. But back to work at regular job today. 68 degrees at 7am tee time this morning. Finally felt like a Florida morning, LOL! Walked 18 holes, legs kind of sore by this exercise! Congrats to Chiefs fans. Mahomes & Reid find a way to win! Great golf yesterday Waste Management! Good sports weekend overall. Have a Great Day Everyone! Stay Dry & Warm!
