  1. Anddddd I’m out . My super sleeper went to sleep and didn’t wake up.
  2. This is a 54 hole cut this week. So there’s still a chance for everyone!
  3. It’s kind of like my One and Done league I’m in. Why not join another!
  4. 80 - 42/38 9 GIRs, 4 FIRs, 1 birdie. Played my home course. Perfect weather for walking, started in the mid 40s and ended mid 50s. Working on my off the tee game as hooks have creeped back in. Not swinging as hard to try and find that swing path again helped today. Approach shots were solid, missed 3 birdie chances within 15-20 ft. I did sink a birdie on the last to keep me coming back. I played by myself today and got stuck behind 3 4 somes and a 4 some behind catching up to me every tee box. It was a mental grind to try and stay positive and focused on my game. Yeah I could hit an extra ball or two sometimes, but waiting on close to every shot no matter how slow you play will keep you from getting in a rhythm. Surprisingly, I looked on Arccos after and the round time was 3:58. So, not terrible, just felt super long.
  5. Yeah, I’m excited to at least support K-C and go play over the summer at some point. The par 3.5 is an interesting/unique way to make it fun/hard/frustrating. Make a 3, you get a birdie, make a 4, it’s a bogey. I have seen other screenshots though where hole 4 and 6 say par 4.
  6. Thanks guys for the responses. I went ahead and booked a round for our group at Mirimichi. $38 for a round seems like a steal looking at the course online unless its course management has gone downhill the past couple years. Either way, should be a great opener on our way to Big Cedar Lodge.
  7. Great idea! Should include more participation anytime “prizes” are mentioned. I’m always in.
  8. I got a group of 12 driving up from Birmingham, AL to Big Cedar Lodge in a couple months to play all the courses. We plan on stopping in Memphis to break up the drive and play a round. Anybody got some course recommendations to play?
  9. Gotta give my predictions here: Favorite: Justin Thomas. 2nd Favorite: Daniel Berger. Sleeper: Mr. Bucket Hat, Joel Dahmen Always enjoy this new year kickoff tournament and watching a par 73 event.
  10. Love it moved to ESPN+. Well at least I hope I’ll like the move. Will be getting rid of my NBC Sports Gold subscription. Hopefully there will be more and longer streaming opportunities.
  11. Bro, you had 15 rounds of even par or better?!?! That’s incredible. Was the course rating sitting around a 69-70 at the tees you were playing at that prevented your handicap from reaching scratch?
  12. How are we looking for participants this year, more than last year? Is it still 4 copies of a player?
  13. Can Kirby finally get a W against Nick?! Should be interesting. Looking forward to it.
  14. For me, I love seeing first timers win on Tour. The grind it takes to get to that point and then seeing that emotion pour out. Just hits a little different. Here’s who I can remember: Joel Dahmen in Punta Cana. KH Lee at the Byron Nelson. Garrick Higgo at the Palmetto. Cam Davis at the Rocket Mortgage. Seamus Power at Barbasol. Erik Van Rooyen at Barracuda. Abe Ancer at St Judes. Talor Gooch at RSM Classic (this season). Out of those Ancer and Higgo I remember the most. Another storyline to me was the resurgence of Stewart Cink. Hadn’t won since 09? And he wins twice! To do it with his son on the bag is awesome. I also can’t leave out Tony Finau. Has been so close to winning the last couple years and finally pulled one out.
  15. I like that challenge of playing at every tee. Playing from the closer tees doesn’t always translate to lower scores. It makes you play shots you haven’t played or are not necessarily comfortable with. George Bryan does this on his YouTube channel. Might start that at my local course.
  16. Improving the short game play is huge. Even if your missing greens, getting up and down let’s say every other time is huge. I don’t know about you, but I love it when I’m able to judge a chip shot perfectly and leave a makeable 5-10’ par putt. Now getting to where I chip less is another story…
  17. Let’s hear what you accomplished this year? Did you reach the goals you set out for the year? What are some goals you have for 2022? I’ll start, here’s what I wrote in the 2021 goals section back in December of 2020… 1) Continue to work on my swing. 2) Consistently break 80. 3) Raise my GIR percentage. 4) Stay in better shape/injury free. Bonus: get rid of my hand me down Adams woods and get fit for a hybrid/wood combo. Overall, it’s been a great year and here a couple accomplishments I’ve had this year: - lowered my all time low handicap to a 5.0. - shot my best round ever of a 74 at Black Creek Golf Course in Chattanooga TN. - Got to visit some awesome places with some great friends: Sweetens Cove, Taylormade Kingdom at Reynolds Landing, PGA Championship, Kiva Dunes, and so many more. -Thanks to MGS, I was able to replace my hand me down woods and started gaming some Cobra woods/hybrids (as well as irons and wedges ). 2022 goals I’ll get a little more specific this year. 1) Shoot a +1 round or better. 2) LESS 3 putts. Please. 3) Less driving penalties. According to Arccos, I’m losing 1.2 strokes because of penalties off the tee. Doesn’t seem like much, but it’s an issue for me. 4) Enjoy the game with friends, don’t get so serious, travel to more places - Big Cedar Lodge in April, back to Sweetens and more!
  18. Set up is super important. Well lit area, enough distance between MLM and ball as well as ball and net. I purchased these lights for like $5 from Home Depot. With that said, I have averaged about 5-10 yards shorter in average distance when hitting into a net inside compared to outside on the range. Personally, I don’t think it’s that big of a deal. Yeah it’s a little frustrating, but you also didn’t pay for a Trackman. Based of the technology Rapsodo is using, it’s going to be a little tougher determining the exact distance when the ball only flies 4-6 feet.
  19. 84 41/43 - RTJ Oxmoor Valley Got to play a round with @TBS and his sister. Very enjoyable for a 65 degree day on December 28. Can’t beat that. I have been struggling a little bit off the tee with some hooks, but am showing improvements with that. Everything else is keeping my score respectable. Hole of the day was the par 3 8th hole. Downhill over water, 165 yard shot playing 135 yds downwind. @TBS goes first and puts it to 15 ft above the hole tracking the whole way. Jokingly, I say I can get closer. Clip a perfect PW and lands 8-10 ft above the hole. Both great shots and we both sank the putts for birdie. Always a good feeling to see the group sink birdies on the same hole.
  20. Congrats to the final 4! Thought I had a good shot after Deebo last Thursday. Duds from the rest didn’t help! Fun season and looking forward to Fantasy Golf!
  21. I was looking in Contests for this thread. Oops! I’m ready to run it back!
  22. You are making it sound not as impressive on your 30+ birdie. I’d say it was 50-60+ footer off the green up and over a hill left to right break with perfect speed falling into the hole. It was a great way to finish the day.
  23. Hey guys, It is a MGS Christmas giveaway!!!! Just not the giveaway you probably came here looking for….Christmas is right around the corner and everyone likes to receive gifts around the holidays whether it's a fresh pair of socks or a new car?! Either way it’s the season of giving and receiving. I was thinking of a way to do something special for someone and had an idea. If anyone follows @acaseofthegolf1 (Monday Q info) on twitter, Ryan has had some great opportunities to gather donations through his followers and PGA tour players and send to high school/middle school golf teams that are in need. I have a couple items, a never used Cobra Radspeed 3 wood that was sent to me by mistake (Cobra doesn’t want it back) and a new Cobra bag (never got to use since the CC5 never quite got started) that I want to donate to someone/a golf team in need! I want to know if there are any connections out there where a school might not have the funds to help their players or the players are playing with some really old equipment. I know it is not much, but still want to give these items away. Maybe by posting this early enough, I can find someone to donate this to and get it to them by Christmas. I don’t know if this has been done before, but if anyone else has some equipment lying around that they would consider donating, let me know! I’d love to try to gather up any donations and send them to someone/a group in need. At the very least they are getting a new 3 wood and bag. I’m open to any suggestions, but thought I’d start here with a post. I know I could donate to a local golf store/my local club, but I wanted to reach out to the forum first. **Disclaimer, I know the 3 wood might not be to a person’s spec, but at least someone could give it a try at the very least.
  24. @PMookie Are you still enjoying your hybrid? I have the Radspeed version and love mine. It’s hot off the face and goes a lot further than I expected. Might be hooked on at least the Cobra hybrid. Still up in the air about the woods as I just got those in.

I have the clip and love it. I can’t play with my phone in my pocket. I have only had 1 round out of maybe 20 where the clip missed a couple shots throughout the round, but it’s easy to go look at your round, go hole by hole, and add shots if necessary. I do make sure nothing is covering the clip, like a pullover. I also make sure it is connected to my phone while I have good service. Sometimes being out on the course, service can go to crap and you might have a hard time connecting that way. I keep the clip on my left hip and sometimes forget it’s even there. Only small issue I’ve had is if I’m playing 36 in a day, the clip may die towards the end of my 2nd round and I’d have to switch to my phone.
