Testers Wanted!

TW-SV-Feature.jpg

Can shoes make a real impact on a golfer's ability to swing faster and increase their swing speed? This is what SQAIRZ has claimed with their previous models and built their platform on. This Testers Wanted opportunity from SQAIRZ golf shoes includes their new VELO golf shoe, the first-ever speed-rated golf shoe.

About SQAIRZ VELO

This shoe is packed with technology and some pretty bold claims. In SQAIRZ testing, they found golfers using the VELO averaged an increase of 2.9 MPH in swing speed and tighter dispersion. That alone is huge.

The other technology features that the SQAIRZ VELO incorporates are as follows:

  • Proprietary SQAIRZ NRG-Direct Technology for a reduction in energy loss.
  • Patented SQAIRZ toe box.
  • Proprietary Sta-Put lacing system.
  • New LaceLock system.
  • Patented AI-generated “smart-traction” system.
  • 100% waterproof but breathable materials.
  • New lightweight-response SQAIRZ NFG-Foam for additional comfort.

As I said, a lot of technology in a shoe. With the claims of a significant increase in swing speed and a new style, these are a must-test for our forum members.

What Is Being Tested?

Along with the technology, the SQAIRZ VELO has an all-new look and a choice of three colors. The new style is still bold but certainly more subtle than their previous models with a clean aesthetic. MyGolfSpy Forum is looking for four golfers to test, review, and keep a pair of the new SQAIRZ VELO golf shoes. Testers will receive a pair of VELO shoes in the color of their choosing.

We want to know if the speed claims are true, we want to know how waterproof the VELO really is, and how comfortable they really are!

Want to be our next tester?

Great looking shoes. Curious to see if the swing speed claim holds up in testing. Good luck to all who sign up!

After recent Brain Surgery and I live in a gated Golf retirement community and only “walk”!

Getting proper weight transfers forward is a key to success!

I believe I can help with a fair assessment of qualities!

I’ve worn every major brand or off major and have the belief that this simple technology would help tremendously!

Stage 4 RCC with continuous exposure of Brain Tumors, but walking with 4 wheeler Bag Boy is my go to Rehabilitation!

Hopefully, I’ll get the wink!

 Thanks Again for Everything!

I’ve seen this company on my search for new shoes. I love their concept of the wider toe box to help from forcing your toes into a compact area. Would love to see how much additional speed is generated testing on my FlightScope Mevo+.

I would love to try the new Sqairz velo been using their speed shoe for 4 years would love to upgrade to see if they are more comfortable than the older ones. Great shoe does help keeping you grounded and are comfortable and keeps your feet dry.

Sqairz has always been an interesting brand from a tech perspective, but their branding and styling has just never caught my eye. May have to give this iteration a go…

I'm in Bonita Springs FL.  The conditions in the morning are very wet, but by noon the courses dry out.  Would love to see how they react in different conditions.  14 handicap.

Sqairz were on my list when I decided to go for Ecco Biom shoes last year and these new ones look nice! Interesting claims too. Hard not to be skeptical of the swing speed claim, but would be fun to test out.

The Ecco have been disappointing, as the arch support hasn't been sufficient or a good fit for me and I've suffered with plantar fasciitis in one foot as a result. I've not had that for years!

I picked up some Adidas Code Chaos for $50 in an Amazon sale last fall to use over winter on the sim and they're comfortable, but very well ventilated- so great for mid-summer rounds. However, they aren't water resistant/ waterproof and I walk a lot of weekend early morning rounds and don't mind playing in rain, so I'm actively looking for something more weather-proof to replace the Eccos.

I'll be paying attention to the tests/ reviews. Good luck to those chosen!

Love my Squaiz. I’m a walker and they are very comfortable and I never slide out (even when I swing for the moon).

Excited to see these as a testing opportunity.

I have tried the original Sqairz golf show and was disappointed in how they hurt my feet.  I would love to see id they have improved and if they truly can enhance one's game.   Good luck to all.

If you are not happy with the arch support in your ECCO Biom shoes, I highly recommend pulling out the insoles and replacing them with Protalus insoles (their T-100 Elite is the ideal insole for athletic and golf shoes). They will take a couple of days to get used to, but it is well worth it! Both my wife and I have been using Protalus insoles in virtually all of our casual, athletic (and some dress) shoes for several years, and they are wonderful, particularly if you have any knee, hip, or alignment (pronation or supination) issues.

If you decide to go with and you like Protalus insoles for your golf shoes, you will probably want to put them in your other athletic shoes (model T-100 Elite) and casual shoes (model M-100 or M-100 Elite). If so, you should take advantage of their very flexible and money-saving subscription program. It will save you a minimum of $10 per pair, and you will get free shipping as well …. AND you can change the frequency and number of pairs you get with no questions or resistance from Protalus. And, no I don’t work for or represent Protalus in any way, but maybe I should!

Hey All,

I also use the original Squarz. I find them very comfortable with good balance. Sure would like to compare the new waterproof style to the original.

Since I am getting older, I would love to add a few extra mph to my swing. It would be a great test to see if these shoes can get my swing speed back to what it was a few years ago

Shoes are possibly the most subjective piece of clothing or sporting equipment out there.  I already have a pair of Squarz and like them a bunch.  However they aren't natively waterproof, so I put some aftermarket water repellent on 'em and they are good in any but the wettest conditions.  Have fun, Spies! Good luck to all chosen, I'm looking forward to your opinions as they matter and often are more interesting than the objective numbers.  MGS, as always you ROCK!

Now they do look cool and who wouldn’t want to see if they achieved a swing speed boost - for once I’m happy to be outside of the USA. Reason is I’ve been told by her that must be obeyed and on this one she really means it (or more to the point I’m listening) - if I buy anymore golf shoes I will lose a part of my anatomy, maybe even a couple of parts; enough said. However I will be tuning in for this review, just in case I “need” to buy some more. I’m sure I could sneak them in, they’d get lost in the pile.

Hey Euge!  Don't let her cut you off at the knees, man!  Then she won't be able to step on your toes!  😆

It’s not the knees I’m worried about.

Thanks for the tip. Haven't heard of Protalus, but I tried a couple of other athletic insole brands and couldn't find one that worked. That was likely because ECCO puts a little arch support beneath the insole as the "wide fit" option is to remove the insole (You may already be aware of that).

I'll look up Protalus. Cheers.

@Javs Interesting.  Good looking shoe, but I can't ever see going spikeless.

I do REALLY like the Bold and Speed.  I have a couple pair and they are super comfortable, even after 36-holes.  If you are looking for a new shoe, I highly recommend trying them, for whatever my opinion is worth.

I spend enough time looking for sprayed drives (always my buddies, neeeever mine😅) that I could use some waterproof kicks.

Some of these Sqairz designs look pretty great!

Would really love to check these out and see if the hype is real.  Timing is perfect as I am just getting ready to buy some new kicks for the spring.

Thanks for the great opportunity.
