TESTERS WANTED!

It is no secret that L.A.B. Golf has taken off because of multiple wins on the PGA Tour and a greater professional presence overall. Its success in MyGolfSpy testing and the hype around the newly released L.A.B. DF3 has only increased its notoriety.

What Is L.A.B.?

L.A.B. stands for Lie Angle Balance. These putters, unlike other putters, are not toe-hang or face balanced. They are balanced to point at the target, meaning no twisting, no struggling to keep the face directed at the target—the putter does this naturally.

As each golfer is unique in their putting stance and stroke, the fitting process for L.A.B. is crucial. L.A.B. has made this easy by way of their online submission. A simple step-by-step process is sent to L.A.B. and they use this video to dial in your specifications.

L.A.B. is best known for their big and unique-looking DF 2.1, a putter that has many nicknames and certainly does not appeal to all golfers. This is where the DF3 comes in.

What Is Being Tested

The DF3 is the toned-down version of the bigger DF 2.1. This is what L.A.B. has to say about it: “We took a chisel to the original Lie Angle Balanced putter to make DF3 smaller and sleeker while honoring the shape of the putter that started it all for us. DF3 still does everything golfers love about the original. It stays square by itself. It’s still irrationally forgiving on mishits. But there’s a lot less to think about.”

We are looking for six non-L.A.B. Golf users to test, review and keep the new DF3. We want to know how the DF3 performs, how/if the L.A.B. method works for you and get cold hard data on how these putters compare to your gamers!

Think you are up for the challenge?

I just completed a putter fitting at Ping HQ in Phoenix, settling on their PLD DS72 model… but I confess I’ve always been very LAB curious. I would love a chance to compare the two for everyone as part of this review!

What to see what the hype is about! The idea is intriguing and the idea of balancing to the target makes so much sense. Good luck to the testers - looking forward to the results

I really hope to be chosen for this test. With my putting game being one of my problems with a lower score. Cutting down on the number of putts would help my game tremendously. I am a sucker for the quirky when it comes to design of things, so the nontraditional look of this putter speaks to me.

Fine @cnosil you were right... but now you will have to start guessing something else!

Played behind 2 pros last week, both Callaway staffers, but both were playing LAB, Mezz Broomstick and a DF2.1.

Awesome to see these guys return again, they are the legitimate disruptors and killing it!

What an opportunity this is!! Putting is definitely the worst part of my game. I've tried at least 20 different putters in the last few years. Even gave a Two Ball Ten broomstick a try. One of the only brands I haven't tried is LAB. I would be thrilled to give this putter a go!! Good luck everyone!!

Never used a L.A.B. putter before. Heard a lot of positive reviews of them though. Some of the designs are pretty crazy. Curious what it would look like standing over a putt with something like that.

Very curious...I've tried Versa 7, Cleveland Anser-style and at this point am willing to try anything to hole more putts. L.A.B's reputation is growing and this would be a great opportunity to see if the talk is real!

Like most people, my putting runs hot and cold. I'm pretty sure 95% of the problem is me, but trying something new and completely different would be a fun challenge. And hopefully by the end of April I can actually get out and golf (it's snowing here in Rochester, NY as I type this).

Would love to be a part of this trial. Have gone through the video fitting, tried a Mezz for awhile but would like to try this in a broomstick.

Good luck to all this will be a great opportunity.

I’ve messed around with the DF 2.1 one of my DIII golfers switched and was blown away, but struggled to get over the looks. I found a mezz.1 for cheap and have really liked it but would love to give this a go. My head coach has been so intrigued by LAB that he keeps stealing my putter at practices, so I’m sure he’d serve as a secondary tester if I got a chance to test the df3

WOW what a great opportunity for all you Spys out there! I have a Mezz Max Broom and love that puppy so it will be interesting to see how the DF3 testers get on with that model.   If a DF3 Broom was available for testing I'd be on it like a hog in a slop bucket!  Good luck folks!!
