Sluggo42
Guess what showed up at my local golfsmith! Demo only. I got to hit it on the monitor about 50 times. I even got to unwrap the plastic and was the first to hit it! I currently game an i20, so obviously I was quite interested. I won't spill the beans now, but I will stand by my earlier predictions that it will fare quite well in the driver test. SeeRed
So, now we know (distance, anyway). And now I will have to resist the urge to replace my i20! Kor.A.Door
i hit the I25 at golfsmith last week, it was a solid club, It launched super high, but had really low spin, and went really far. i think if i were to tinker with it a bit i could get it to perform quite well. SeeRed
Dave, I might have to take a trip to your area and visit the good folks at Haggin Oaks for a demo or two. gkatshoots69
This past weekend I did a driver fitting and I went in with no favoritism towards any club and I walked out with a Ping i25! Love this driver, it blew away any other driver they had me hit. My old driver was an Adams Speedline F11, numbers really sucked and they were suprised I was still palying it, I hit SLDR, Jetspeed, both Bertha's, G25, Titleist D2, different shafts and well over an hour of just hitting balls. My fitter lofted a 10.5 up to 11 degrees and put in a Tour x Stiff shaft in which was nice because they were testing me with an Oban shaft and I didn't dare ask about the extra cost for that. Overall the i25 gave me the most consistent launch angle and also spin rate against all the other drivers and I think it looks pretty badass with the matte black racing stripe. On top of it all gained close to 25yds compared to my old driver which is also pretty badass, I can't wait for all of this upstate NY snow to melt to so I can get outside and hit it for real. Hit the i25 people, you'll love it! revkev
It fared well in the MGS test - I went to a TMag demo day last Friday and really flushed the SLDR time after time - clearly had a gain over my current driver which is an R11s. Still I want to hit it again along with the I25 and even though it didn't do well the Alpha once the higher loft model is out. I'm really digging my i20 irons regardless of what driver I end up with. Don't worry the snow will eventually melt - I recall one winter when I was a college student in Ithaca where it seemed like it would never end and then suddenly one day all the snow was gone and by mid April we were playing - that was a year where I played 45 straight days from mid-June to the end of July - it was great - one of my favorite summers ever. I use the chrome soft x ls on my league course. It has much softer softer greens than the club that I belong to. I’m on a mission to shoot my age - lifetime lowest round is 66 and I’m currently 67.
