JBones
Dates: May 14-17, 2015 Location: Quail Hollow Club, Charlotte, NC Defending Champion: JB Holmes 2014 Infographic: Featured pairings: Rory McIlroy, Patrick Reed, Ben Martin: Why wouldn't you want to watch the top-ranked player in the game and two of those expected to challenge him for years to come? All three are winners during the 2014-15 PGA TOUR season with Martin capturing the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, Reed winning the Hyundai Tournament of Champions and McIlroy taking the World Golf Championships-Cadillac Match Play two weeks ago. Tee times -- 1:20 p.m. ET off No. 1 on Thursday; 8 a.m. off No. 10 on Friday Adam Scott, Henrik Stenson, Kevin Kisner: This group features two former PLAYERS champs in Scott and Stenson and Kisner, who nearly joined them last week -- losing to Rickie Fowler in a sudden death playoff after the two remained tied following a three-hole aggregate playoff. Kisner has now lost in playoffs in two of his last three starts. Scott has two top-10s in Charlotte while Stenson has been a ball-striking machine, ranking second in Strokes Gained: Tee to Green and Putting and first in the combined categories overall. Tee times -- 1:10 p.m. ET off No. 1 on Thursday; 7:50 a.m. ET off No. 10 on Friday Bill Haas, Webb Simpson, Louis Oosthuizen: For Simpson, this is a home game -- literally -- since the former U.S. Open champion lives about a mile from the clubhouse. Haas, who lives in Greenville, South Carolina, tied for fourth last week at THE PLAYERS, mounting a back-nine charge to finish one stroke out of the playoff. He won the CareerBuilder Challenge earlier this year, as well. Oosthuizen is making his debut at the Wells Fargo Championship. Tee times: 7:50 a.m. ET off No. 10 on Thursday; 1:10 p.m. ET off No. 1 on Friday Phil Mickelson, Jim Furyk, J.B. Holmes: Holmes is the defending champion at the Wells Fargo Championship and Furyk is the tournament's leading money winner. Both players have won in 2015, too, with Holmes taking the Shell Houston Open and Furyk the RBC Heritage. Mickelson is a big fan of the course -- he has played in the tournament every year since 2004 and only twice has he finished lower than 15th. Tee times: 8 a.m. ET off No. 10 on Thursday; 1:20 p.m. ET off No. 1 on Friday. Follow @GolfspyBones

jbil8802
Watching Rory today and on one hole he hits driver 333 and 4iron from 252. Just a whole other game I'm not familiar with. Just saw that. It's mind boggling. Yesterday it was a 330 yard drive and 170 yard 9 iron on a 500 yard par 4. Severtheties
I've gone back and forth on Rory a few times on if I thought he would be someone that would contend week in and week out. Don't get me wrong, I believe that he is a great player and on any given week CAN win but its completely another thing to contend week to week. After these past few weeks I believe he can so some levels of domination. Really interested to see how he finishes this year out. mizuno_lover
I thought it was a really great win by Rory. I kinda feel he made up his mind he wanted this one from the outset and really put his mind to it. It helped that he had won there before and already held the course record. It really is a scary concept that if he makes up his mind he is going to win he does. I'm sure good form helps, in the WGC matchplay he seemed to have a similar mindset and I think Johnny Miller said he only had his C game there and his C game was good enough to beat everyone there. The other scary stat to come out of this week was on a 7500 yard course he averaged driver, 9iron/wedge on 14 of the holes. Holy Crap! That is a different game.
