puttingpirate
It's an old review i've done, that has been updated :-) I've had 4 of the Silencer bags (all since they came out) and will focus on the new Stand and Cart bags. Hope you enjoy! So for the last few weeks I've been looking at reducing chatter and overall 'look and feel' of my golf bag. I have started with a Callaway HL3 which is with me here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vph77b3nnv7yn2q/IMG_1290.jpg?dl=0 It's super light but a few things were annoying me. * 1) the 4 way divider, even tho it's to the bottom of the bag - it gets very very busy very easily (and i wasnt even carrying 14 clubs). * 2) The chatter was annoying me greatly so I've tried iron covers - which just made it look more busy and made the clubs difficult to get out. * Also tried http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTAyNFgxMDI0/z/tQYAAOSwmrlU2HRI/$_57.JPG those plastic organisers, which worked great... until you put your bag down, the legs come out and the bottom of the bag changes angle, pushing all the clubs up. (now I have a little '9 hole course' Nike Hyperadapt bag, where I use those plastic things and it works well) That's how busy it was with 13 clubs: https://www.dropbox.com/s/8n9q01fyjimflpj/IMG_1152.jpg?dl=0 So someone told me to buy the Silencer bag. It's quite expensive (£189/$270) but one whisky too many and today I have the bag in my hands. Its a handsome looking fella https://www.dropbox.com/s/x4r3wbug12xggmi/IMG_1277.jpg?dl=0 The Quality It's high. As high as one can really expect of a bag for this price. The only little comment i'd have is the little plastic between the top of the legs. The Callaway one feels more sturdy and higher quality. https://www.dropbox.com/s/71dvzc4enwunrl7/IMG_1280.jpg?dl=0 It also stands straight like a cart bag very well. The Silencer System So ok, I've spent a good 45 minutes setting the bag up. I read a lot of reviews, did some tires and ended up with something I'm quite happy with in terms of the chatter and club accessibility. https://www.dropbox.com/s/boxsdyzx551vyhn/IMG_3422.jpg?dl=0 What I've noticed - and I dont know how much of an issue it is with my bag, or with the bag in general - that if I'd put clubs in the bag in a particular (lets call it 'wrong') order then when they clicked and locked into place - the shafts would move not staying in the 'rubber hole' https://www.dropbox.com/s/pyad3b7h7mimvfc/IMG_1282.jpg?dl=0 Which annoyed me to no end as the clubs looked very stupid that way. That issue is 100% resolved with the cart bag however. https://www.dropbox.com/s/padejkia91xv1pe/IMG_3693.jpg?dl=0 The Pockets The pockets are OK. I miss the mesh inside the ball pocket for market pens, tees etc... but apart from that - no complaints. It seems to me that the lining of the callaway 'valuables' pocket is a nicer fleece but those are details. I very much like that they split the pocket in 2, so i dont have change, phone and keys in the same compartment. The Straps Those look like from a parachute. I usually wear Nike Hyperadapt water repellent or storm-fit and those are quite slippery. My Callaway bag straps would keep on falling if I was to carry the bag on one arm only. I haven't tested this one yet - but I'm pretty sure that wont be an issue. Rain hood I'd suggest getting an after market one as this one seems a little too small for my clubs. So yeah, that's about it i guess. Overall pretty cool bag and I think I'll be keeping it. Whenever or not its worth the price? That's up to you to decide. If I was living in the US and could grab a bargain for $120 or something it would be a no-brainer. It also seems to carry watches pretty well :-D https://www.instagram.com/p/BUo6Sm3hA0h If you have any questions - feel free to ask and i'll do my best to answer. P.S. Would have put it in here sooner but this kept interrupting my typing: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dxdbz3xnxnimpda/IMG_3659.jpg
