bmaru99
Your best bet would be to go to a local shop and test them out for yourself. It is hard to just say how many yards, if any, you will gain. See a fitter and demo foryourself and go from there would be best for you. You could gain absolutely nothing, or you could gain 10, 20, 30 yards and a tighter dispersion. Yes the newer technology will help, but it's the engine AKA shaft of the club that will make all the difference. Get fitted and never buy a club off the rack, biggest mistake you can make for your game. Because at that point you have to adjust your swing to club and shaft, compared to them being adjusted to your swing. When I was fitted for my new PXG driver I gained 15 yards of carry from 265 to 280 and 29 extra yards total distance from 271 to 300 with roll off a 107-110mph swing speed, and went from having a 40 yard dispersion to 15 yards and dropped my spin rate from about 3000 to 2250 on average compared to my off the rack Titleist 913 D2 I was playing all because the fitting and shaft. Also, I can finally hit a draw.Sent from my SM-G975U using MyGolfSpy mobile app bmaru99 1 Quote C130 USA bag Driver - 0811XF - Tensei Ck Orange - 65 G Stiff 3 Wood - M6 - Tensei CK Orange - 65 G Stiff 19* & 22* Hybrids - M6 - Tensei CK Orange - 82 G Stiff Irons & Wedges- 0211 5-PW, GW, SW, LW 45*. 50*, 54*, 60* - True Temper Elevate Tour 117 G Stiff All wrapped in Standard Gray/Red Dri-Tacs Putter - - Mustang - 33" - 5.0 FATSO Ball - TP5 Tracked with V2 I'm a righty from Mechanicsville, VA (Richmond Area)
BIG STU
good advice from all who replied so far. IMHO Maltenator basically nailed it as a whole. Now I will tell you if that is an 08 Burner those drivers and fairway woods have almost a cult following in certain circles. Personally I am still front line gaming a now 3 year old driver the one in my signature. that thing still performs great for me. Remember it does not have to be the latest and greatest within certain parameters to perform well Quote Driver ---- Callaway Big Bertha Alpha Speeder 565 R flex- 5W TM V-Steel Fubuki 60r--- 7W TM V-Steel UST Pro Force Gold 65R----- 9 W TM V Steel TM MAS stiff---- Irons 2015 TM TP CB Steel Fiber 95 R--- GW Callaway Mack Daddy 2 52* shaft unknown junk pile refugee. tony@CIC
Interestingly my wife has an 8 yr old Burner. She went for a full bag fitting to a highly regarded fitter. He changed out everything in her bag except for the driver. She hit everything from a Ping to Cobra, Titleist, etc. he told her to keep the Burner in her bag there was no advantage in distance or dispersion. Obviously this is different for everyone but going to a fitter vs. reading all the marketing hype might save you time and $$$.
