Happy St. Patrick's Day All!

Here in Key West, we really don't need too much of a push to celebrate something.  Everyone here and visiting want to have a good time.  St. Patrick's Day is no exception.

I try to decorate the house for various "holidays" or other celebrations.  It usually starts with appropriate colored beads hanging on the front fence.  This year, I added some decorations on our concrete porch beagle.   Finally, I have programable LED lights that I string on the porch that I can change colors to reflect the observance.

Finally, we started yesterday with our annual St. Patrick's Day bar stroll (always the closest Saturday to the actual day).  It's one of the two days a year when a kilt, sporran and other Irish-related items come out.

Here I am ready to start on our adventure:

This St. Patrick's Day takes on a more special meaning.  During COVID, my wife went down the genealogy rabbit hole and found out she qualified for Irish citizenship.  After months of collecting generations of original birth, marriage and death certificates, she finally sent off a binder of documents for approval.  Several months later she got confirmation that she got her Irish citizenship.  About six months later she got her Irish passport.  Then last fall, she and her niece did their first trip to her adopted homeland.  This St. Patrick's Day is the first where she had her citizenship, passport and visited Ireland.  Surprisingly, yesterday's bar stroll did not include any Guiness or Jameson's!
