I can go wrong with Vokeys.  For some reason they don't get along with me.  I gave my 52, 56 and 60 to my wife.  She loves them.  She never had a 60, and the Vokeys replaced her TaylorMade set gap and SW.

I like more bounce than many vokeys have with the full grinds. I know vokeys come in higher bounces but, I find a lot of used vokeys in the used bin with low bounce.

Something different anyone here have any good recipes??

I'm sitting at my house after coming him from the fire department and started making spaghetti sauce to take to work tonight.

Sent from my SM-G950U using MyGolfSpy mobile app

I make sourdough bread using a simple recipe I found on YouTube at this link:

    Simple recipe of:

    800g unbleached bread flour

    460g filtered water (no chlorine)

    320g sourdough starter

12g kosher or sea salt (I think the video is 8g salt).

I have 3 different starters that I mix to make my bread, which is not crucial. My starter has about 20-25% whole wheat of three different types: whole wheat, spelt, and rye.

    Nothing like fresh made sourdough.

  3. I had an experience at Del Mar in San Diego with this technology.

The limitations of it not picking up every shot, not seeing the ball below about 10 ft above the ground, and the limited flight range balls turned out to be only a partial hindrance.

The cool things were being able to see ball speed, peak height, and a history of shots. If it was not super accurate to my normal course yardages, which it wasn't, I could still use the relative distance gaps from club to club accurately.

Overall, I thought it was a great addition that does more good than harm. It seemed to be good to have a friend calling out the numbers instead of trying to hit and look myself.

i’ve definitely considered 5 being overkill and i’ve thought of the overlapping yardages but maybe i can explain why i’m thinking about going with a 5th wedge

at the top of my bag, i’ve got a driver and a 3h. i don’t carry a 3w, it’s a club i just can’t hit and have found a way to not really need.

then i’m gonna carry 4-P, with the 44* PW being a 155-160yd club.

that leaves a lot of meat on the bottom end of the bag, and it also leaves me with 6 slots. so i figured i’d carry the 5 wedges and see what does and doesn’t work, and adjust from there.

Makes more sense without any fairway woods.

Someday you may figure out the long club and need the slot.

I love my 5w and don't carry a 3w because the gaps between the two wasn't big enough. I found the 5w easier to hit too.

A 2 driving iron also is a good 3w replacement for some people.

curious if anyone games a 5 wedge setup. i’m playing around with the idea myself.

i’ll likely go set PW, 48, 52, 56, 60 and see how that works out

My set PW is 47* and set Gap is 50.5* so my wedges at 54* sand and 60* lob give me all the short game options I need just by manipulating the face.

I used to carry a 72* ultra lob as well which did make up 5 wedges but, it was extreme overkill that worked out less often than I hoped.

If you look at sets out there with 38-44* PW the gaps are usually 5-6* in the wedges.

44-49-54-60 would make more sense - like @Kanoitohad already said.

The issue becomes more about a bottleneck somewhere in your bag where giving up the 5th wedge will have more gain on the other end in the woods or hybrids.

    Common setup for fairway wood lovers: D, 3w, 5w, 4h, 5-p, 49, 54, 60 & putter

    Or

    Common setup for iron lovers: D, 3w, 3h, 4-p, 49, 54, 60 & putter

    My setup: D, 5w, 4h, 4 driving iron, 5-gap, 54, 60 & putter

4* gaps on irons has been obliterated by new iron designs with hot faces and loft jacking because those old irons had 49-53* pitching wedges and irons were solid metal without any springiness.

  6. The best of my time playing golf is the Taylormade Supersteel irons with the red S-90 Bubble Graphite shaft - specifically the 9 iron.

This gets the nod because it is the club I hit a hole-in-one with. So, it's the best club of all time for me.

Second, is my Taylormade SLDR S 19* 5 wood with the 65g Fuji Kira Speeder stiff shaft. This club landed me 4 feet from the pin leading to my second eagle, and first on a par 5.

I switched out my irons but the 5w is still in the bag.

The irons are on loan to a buddy.

Hey all names mark and this is my second rendition of WITB below is a link to my original.

Did almost a complete revamp this year with new bag, irons, wedges and a recently added 3 wood.

Had a lot of fun getting fit for most of what’s in the bag right now and these are my long term set until I can’t swing these shafts!

    Great title!!!

  8. I am relatively new to golf compared to most the old farts out there.

I love encouraging my friends and playing partners to get the most out of their attempt to play this simple game.

I am here because I have nothing better to do than this, and I welcome the distraction.

I am born and raised in Orange County Cali. I am not playing much right now due to Covid.

The best things about golf in my area are the variety of courses and the weather. The only downside is the golfers who can be rude and obnoxious at times - same as just about anything in life.

I look forward to exploring and adding where I can on this forum.
