  1. if anyone has one of these laying around, i'd be interested... accra tz rpg tour 472 m5+ (say that five times fast)
  2. she’s still beautiful! im dealing with the same thing with my old lady. two years ago: more recently:
  3. there isn’t a single guy on the pga tour id classify as freakishly athletic. and there are only a handful id describe as mildly athletic. you’d have trouble picking most PGA tour golfers out at your local PTA meeting
  4. how is that getting around the rules? it’s a cut shaft. that’s like saying you got around paying your taxes by paying your taxes.
  5. ive got a pretty anticlimactic update for everyone. aside from frick showing up like 3 minutes before our tee time, things went about as well as i could’ve hoped. we played a “scramble” and used my tee shot on every hole. he was on his own from there. most holes i just had him pick up at double par i don’t think he got a ball in the air all day, but he seemed to have an ok time. he even sunk an 8ft putt. i had to remind him a few times where not to drive the cart, but other than that it was really uneventful. maybe i made a mountain of a molehill after all.
  6. thanks for reminding me i owe an update in the other thread
  7. 41 4/7 fairways 5/9 greens 16 putts 3W was awesome off the tee today. irons were ok but i’m still costing myself strokes with partial wedge shots. first round trying out left hand low for putting. no 3 putts all day. stroke felt really smooth and the ball was coming out of the center of the putter face
  8. par 5 9th hole. pushed my layup right and got stuck behind a VERY tall tree 100 yards out from the green. you can see the white flag under the branches on the left side of the tree, just behind the bunker just to make things harder, there was a bunker short and the green was elevated from where i was took my 56, opened the face, and played a game of “how high can i get this ball and how fast can i do it?” ball took off almost straight up in the air, cleared the tree, and landed 8 ft from the cup. the shot was great, but the round of applause from the people eating on the patio above me was the real highlight.
  9. this isn’t only my favorite response so far but might be my favorite post on this site in the year i’ve been a member.
  10. i appreciate everyone’s input, truly so, despite my best efforts, ive got a 12:10 tee time tomorrow with my brother in law who has played exactly one (1) round of golf in his life. i told her straight up that i think it’s a bad idea for her and also that i don’t want to get lumped in with him if he acts like an idiot because i’d like to come back and play again. it got shot down with “i talked to him about golf course etiquette” how she did that, i don’t know. my MIL has played exactly zero (0) rounds of golf in her life. so, now i’m wondering how best to handle this. do we play from the forward tees? do we play a scramble where he hits a tee shot and then we go play from my ball? do i have him tee it up at the 150 marker in the fairway? i wish i could’ve said no. but i would’ve looked like a real a**hole and i also would’ve missed out on a free round at a nice course. i guess it beats going in to the office though
  11. had one of those range sessions this morning where i should’ve quit while i was ahead. hit my wedges through 8i great while warming up and getting loose. i usually go 52/56/60 to the 75 marker, then 52/56/60 to the 100 marker to get loose and work towards a more full swing before moving in to alternating short irons contact was crisp. ball was taking off on line and going the right numbers. worked on some knockdown shots after that using my 8i to the 150 flag and i was stoked with how i was able to get great contact and bring my ball flight down because windy days absolutely kill me then moved into fairways and driver and lost it all. decided to go back to a few pitching wedges to end on a good note and my contact was all over the place. i hate leaving the range with more questions than answers.
  12. thanks for not making the decision any easier!!!
  13. i’m starting to put the pieces for this scotty refinish together. here’s what we’re starting with i tracked down a scotty YSC shaft for it, since the one in it is pretty bent. i’m torn between two finishes for the head. this one from norcal putters is as close as i’ve found to the original pro platinum but i think this whiskey finish from putter lounge is awesome too. once it’s back from finishing i’ll throw a scotty pistolero plus grip on it and have a pretty sweet putter.
  14. id like to bring an excavator. i hate this hole. i actually feel claustrophobic on the tee box. can't go left, can't go right, can't go long. and i absolutely hate blind shots.
  15. here’s my entry. whitney farms golf course #6. par 5, 562 from the blue tees. the tee box is elevated and tight. you’re hitting into a small landing area about 230-240 straight out. cutting the corner is out because the trees overhang the tee box. this picture was taken from their flyover and the camera is probably about 20 yards in front of the blue tees. that tall tree in the top right of the frame is very much in play from the tee box. from that landing area you’re about 310-320 out facing a blind second shot as the fairway goes up, then back down to the hole. long on your approach is dead because behind the green falls off to narnia. ive never gotten off this hole with better than bogey. whatcha got?!
  16. looking forward to it. i've got a good entry for this thread once yours gets a few more replies.
  17. i thought profanity and hate speech wasn't allowed on the forums...
  18. this is a fun thread. i dig it. @Lacassem that's a scary tee shot for me, since i'd literally be lining up OB. i'm hitting driver and if the ball cuts like i want it, i'll be good in good shape with a shot to reach in 2 with either 5 or 3w, assuming a clean fairway lie. with my luck, though, this would be the first tee shot of the round that stays straight and itll end up in someone's pool. if i end up in the rough off the tee, it's a 3 shot hole and i'd lay up to about 120 and hit gap wedge in
  19. assuming a good tee shot, distance wise i'd have a PW in, but into the wind with my high ball flight i could be playing 9 or even 8i depending on the pin location
  20. into the wind makes my club selections for me here. since my driver has a tendency to balloon, id play a 3w off the tee, lined up with the cart path as my target and playing a cut. if i keep it low, which i usually do with the 3w, i should end up with a PW in to the green
  21. haha this isn’t all that serious at all. my MIL isn’t exactly gonna be shocked when i tell her that her sons are idiots and she probably doesn’t want them representing her at her club
  22. this is basically my thought. except i haven’t seen them play. i don’t have to. i know how they act in really any public place
  23. dude i’m trying to enjoy my time on the golf course. what kind of crap is this?!
  24. ive got no problem hitting her with brutal honesty. i’m gonna give it another day or so because the issue might resolve itself. i don’t think either of them will wake up in time for a 9am tee time
