I have to ask, is the "twig feeling just in the PW or the entire set of graphite irons. Or are the wedges so heavy you dont have a choice but to drop them behind the ball. As you said the difference between a 65 gram iron shaft and old school wedge is staggering. You might find a common ground selection in a 95 g iron shaft with a 105 to 115 wedge shaft to make the transition easier.

2 more weeks in the books for the Mezz Max Only one 3 putt for both rounds. I’ve got to say there is something to the tech in putter. I went to a different course to prevent the course familiarity from playing a part of a positive response so a few days an ago went to the Jaycees in chillcothe were my 3 putt occurred. Still the flat stick has gone from well I wonder if I’m three putting to I wonder if I can walk out of here with a one putt.

The average is about 44.5" drivers so in typical comparisons would be about an inch. That is the bunch under the bell curve for sure. 44.5 to 44.75 ish.

we found after several fittings that most golfers will do better with a shorter club. the quality of hit goes up resulting in longer drives and tighter dispersion

got 2 rounds in this weekend. only one 3 putt for both rounds , The results are about the same as previously posted land on the green some 20 to 50 ft from the cup and leave myself with a 2 -3 footer. two stories: Had a putt from quite possibly the worst place on this green. on the left hand side directly at the straight line except the hole is at the base of a shelf in the green. threw the ball toward the cup using the shelf and left myself a 6" tap in. I stepped off the break and it was 8 ft. This just after dragging the putter on a straight in 8 ft miss. arggg. on to separate occasions while putting down hill I have some how managed to leave a putt short. I am a lag putter but down hill and 10 plus ft away on a slippery slope. I normally have the touch of a jack hammer. this was quite the surprise.

if the shafts are .355 tipping is not suggested or recommended as they come in discrete lengths. If the tip is only 3" then trimming is also not recommended as the insertion depth is also included in the 3"

Well it was a record day for McGolf and in a good way for a change. Shot my lowest score for 18 and broke the 36 putt per round average with 35. It could have been one lower however a lip out for a 3 putt and 2 other burnt edges prevented a truly epic round for score and putting. I kept track of distance of the initial putt and total for second putts if there was one. overall had 484 ft of putt with the shortest being 4 ft and longest being 57' My second putt distance was 38.5 ft with the shortest being a being a make or tap in on the edge to the longest of 6 ft. The feel of putting with the Mezz Max is something akin to being inline with the line. Now my course has some undulations as we are on the side of a mountain. This time I was putting on a line for a break instead anticipating it. If that makes sense. I would send the ball on a line to follow a break I thought I perceived and it ended close enough to the hole in most cases for an easy 3 footer if there such a thing. Ive got say I am super glad to be chosen for the review as this has given me a new look at putters as a fitter and golfer.

below is a capto comparison between my gamer a center shaft putter and the Mezz MAx. You may have to enlarge the picture to get all the data. Consistency was equal but when you get into the individual parameters the Mezz was helping me quite a bit. It is also helping me be a better putter with the gamer too

I use a small bucket of very hot water. Dunk both the grip and a club glove towel (course microfiber) and wipe the grip until it squeaks then move to the next club. by the time you are done with that last one the first one is dry and ready for the bag.

Ive had the Mezz Max out last weekend. 2 putted everything except the 6th the hole where a green tilting a bunch to the left caught me lipping one for a 3. the last hole I was above the hole and playing a left to right break. Aimed it just left of the hole and the damn thing went straight stopping 6" from the cup. Of all the times to read break and it not be there. LOL. I am center shaft putter so the Mezz MAx does bother me from an aesthetics point of view. To the point it is helping me putter better with my Makefield. So far I can get behind the technology and the radical idea of the balancing. I have 2 cons so far, 1) the magnets on the cover are too weak and 2) if you are a golfer that drops the putter into the bag even with the cover on you can except a few dings due to the aluminum construction. Pros so far is the thing putts the ball where its aimed. I kinda like the look of the tank from tron on a stick. The feel is very solid.

I made it home after driving through/ by a mountain tunnel wreck that Siri tried to by pass only to put me further up the line so not bad. Did get to see the Jefferson nation forest as a result. Thanks to Mrs McGolf putting the easy pass in McGolf1 all three toll boths looked like a mad dash at a disney park. Having the easy pass was like having a fast past at disney. Guys it was great seeing old friend and making new ones. Will be talking about it on the live stream tomorrow.
