  1. I have a Ping Driver and 3 Wood, a Callaway 7 Wood, Callaway Irons, one Titleist Wedge and one Callaway Wedge, a Seemore and an Odyssey putter. So I know it is pretty common with the pros because of sponsorships, but how common is it for rank and file golfers to have clubs from a single manufacturer in their bag? Do you?
  2. Same as Jeffro808. I find it very accurate with the irons- the total distance was as accurate as my friends 20k machine. I couldn’t compare my driver because my friend’s basement ceiling is too low for me. The distance seems accurate with the driver. But I use it as a launch monitor to track my iron distances and prevent large gaps, which it is very good at. The best thing is that it’s a great GPS as well. My favorite feature is the “plays like” distance which takes hills into consideration- that saves me strokes all the time as I play a lot of hilly courses. ️️️️️
  3. Any solutions for the Superstroke counter balance weight screw? It doesn’t go in at all. (That’s what she said).
  4. THATS WHAT’s causing it!!! I couldn’t figure it out. Thanks man!
  5. I had a combo set of these and sold them. What a doofus I am- they WERE gorgeous and the combo set was very playable. I thought newer was better back then… I’m dumb AND DUMBER.
  6. I originally gave them a try after finding a few and to try and fix an alignment issue I was having while putting. I’m left eye dominant and a right handed putter and was setting up to the right. For some reason, the Triple Track helped me with that. While the ERC has been great for me on the greens, I’ve really liked it off the tee- it’s longer than the AVX I was playing. I don’t miss the urethane of the AVX as I play almost exclusively on a municipal course that has soft greens. It was pretty serendipitous finding the ERC’s as they’ve become my go-to ball… for now.
  7. You’re absolutely right about the data- I need more rounds using the Arccos. The sensors confirmed my initial impression of the Callaways- that they were much hotter than my previous set- and it’s not just the jacked lofts. I think the hotter face is what contributes to the forgiveness. I’ve been very impressed that the compact heads (especially in the Pro version) are as forgiving as my much bigger Taylor Made TP Cavity backs. Thanks for your responses.
  8. My expectation is not to be surprised. While I understand an over hit (because of a pull or flyer lie) is part of the game, I was never able to hit my old irons (Taylor Made TP Cavity Back) 20 or 30 yards further per iron.
  9. Older thread, but I just got a set off of Callaway’s Pre-Owned site at the beginning of this season. I got the Combo set and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced some hot shots- I get some big dispersion numbers with respect to distance. For instance, my 8 Iron has gone 166-185; a 7 iron between 167-190. Of course my Arccos numbers are based on limited data (3 rounds), but I was wondering if anyone else finds the Apex to be a little inconsistent distance wise?
  10. I have been playing a Two Ball Ten Tour Lined all season. I switched from a blade to a mallet last season for the forgiveness and couldn’t be happier. The mallet along with the stroke lab shaft has improved my lag putting tremendously. And the two ball has been a great alignment aid inside of ten feet- I came from a Seemore, so I appreciate good alignment aids. I added yellow triple track stickers since I prefer to play yellow balls. I made the switch to the Callaway ERC Triple Track and it’s helped my alignment even more- I had some issues being left eye dominant RH with lining up to the right of the hole earlier this season. (I also like the length I get from the ERC). I’m usually very fickle with my putters and will switch pretty quickly, but I got rid of all my others (except the Seemore- can’t do that) and the Ten has a firm hold in my bag.
  11. 3 rounds in and I’m all over the place. I guess I need a lot more data…
  12. And I’m thinking of bending my A Wedge to 49 or 48 to get a little more of a gap between it and the 53.
  13. Just because it has P stamped on it doesn’t make it a pitching wedge- it’s a 9 Iron. The jacked up lofts these days. Yes- based on what’s stamped on the bottom, you are right.
  14. My Callaway Apex Pro Approach Wedge is 50 degrees. My Titleist Vokey Spin Milled (starting to get old) raw is 53 degrees And my Swiss Army Knife: Callaway MD5 Jaws X Grind is 58 degrees. Anything I ask this wedge to do, it does. Although this is a 3 wedge set-up, with the jacked up lofts on my Apex 19 Combo irons, I can carry a 3 Iron and a 7 Wood, which hit the ball about the same distance but with very different trajectories. I hit it a mile high with the 7 Wood (20 degrees) and I hit the stinger with the 3 iron (18 degrees). My old set which was 48, 52, 56 and 60 didn’t give me this option. The Callaway X Grind allows me to really open the face and hit great flops, so I no longer need the 60 or a 62 degree wedge. I wanted to share my less than typical set-up and see if anyone does something similar.
  15. Has anyone else been amazed at the versatility of the Callaway MD5 Jaws X Grind? Everything I ask it to do, it obliges. Full shot, flop shot, sand, tight lie whatever. I have the 58 degree and when I open it up, it pops the ball straight up on flops. It makes a 60 or 62 unnecessary. The only adjustment was having to swing harder from the sand than when I carried a 56 degree sand wedge, but that wasn’t a problem. Roger Cleveland is doing great work for Callaway.
  16. Oh, and for those less familiar with the cult of Springsteen, my name is from maybe my favorite Bruce song, “Backstreets.”
  17. Seemore Z2 C Form and function…
  18. I had the G410 Driver and 3 Wood with the Mitsubishi Tensei Orange and I eventually gave up on the Driver with the Tensei, but the 3 Wood is going strong.
  19. Adding to the page 3 love: I am seeing places on the course I never used to with my 410 LST. My 425 Max is 10-15 yards longer and more forgiving than the 410 LST. Everybody’s mileage varies- mine had been great with the 425 Max.
  20. The Arccos measures total distance. I’ll pay more attention to the peak height to see if that may be the key factor. Thanks for your feedback.
  21. I didn’t hit the Rogue in comparison to the Alta during the fitting- just the Tensei Orange and the Tour. My numbers were better with the Alta. Like I said, I got the Rogue with the deal on the used 425 Max, it’s just gravy” that I’m having the success with it that I am. I really like having two very different feeling shafts so if my in a rut driving the ball, a change can feel good. Sometimes it’s not numbers- it’s what feels good.
  22. I hit my old 410LST and the 425 Max with a fitter before I “upgraded.” During the fitting I used a variety of shafts- I got the Rogue White on a deal - traded in my 410 and an old 400 Crossover plus a $100 at PGA SS, which to me was a great deal. Because I hit it well with the Alta, I subsequently picked one up. I’m a gear head and would never make a major change “randomly.” I just find it interesting that FOR ME, the Alta did not launch higher than the Rogue and that I was getting better dispersion with the Alta. Most interesting, I was getting more length with the heavier shaft, as you would think my swing speed would be higher with the lighter shaft. I have a free trial of Accros, so while I hit one 290 with the Alta, my longest shot with the Rogue was 270, the Rouge average was 260, while the Alta was 248. (That’s not random information)
  23. I have the Aldila Rogue White 130 MSI in a 70 gram Stiff that came with the Ping 425 when I bought it used at PGA SS. At first, as seems to be the case with all new clubs, I hit it well- I was getting an extra 10-15 yards compared to my G410 LST. The reason I switched to the G425 was I was looking for more forgiveness, so with that in mind I also picked up an Alta Slate 55 CB off of EBay. I wanted something that might launch higher and I could age into. I actually didn’t launch the Alta higher than the Rogue. Thank also had better dispersion with the Alta. I hit it further with the Rogue, but I would gladly give that up to be in play more often. I will need a larger sample size before I decide on my “go to” shaft, but I was very impressed with the Alta. I have as wondering what others thought of the PING shafts?
  24. Two rounds into my free trial and my impressions so far: 1. the Apple Watch is great at registering shots and as a GPS watch. 2. The data on club distance will be really valuable once I get a larger sample size. 3. the Caddie suggestions are not always good (again, small sample size) - it suggested too much club and too little. At this point, the sample size is too small. 4. my Garmin G80 does a better job at yardages with elevation changes than ACCROS. 5. the post round analysis is really good- I realized I have a much better short game than I thought. (And my Driver game is as bad as I thought).
