Holy s**t this is awesome !  Last 2 years I kept a spreadsheet of my performance on my home (Ohio) course (without SG data)  This is going to save me a lot of work. @Gavin_Shot_Scope how could you guys not have sent a push email to your users on this major upgrade! 😍

We did send an email to our whole database. We sent an email, posted on our social media and tried to get it in every publication because it is a really valuable update.

    Suggestions to Shotscope.

I'd like to see improvements in the web dashboard and how you display our golf data.

Trends. There is no way to see if parts of game are improving. All data is a snapshot of current details. I should be able to see a chart showing if my SG is trending over time. The same goes for club distances.

Scorecard. Please improve the scorecard. Still lacking just a simple snapshot of a round of golf. Make sometime similar to thegrint.

Edit round. Better display of distance of shots, distance left when you edit/move markers post round. Especially for putts. Hard to accurately drag putt locations and slight move can make large changes in feet.

As well sometimes a satellite view isn't the greatest. Take a look at giving option to see course with a simple overlay showing fairway, bunkers, etc. Example from Fore golf app attached. Sometimes this is much cleaner to review a round.

I think a lot of the above will be answered in our new dashboard roll out. Hopefully within the next 4 weeks.

Not sure if Shotscope reads this thread - if so perhaps we can provide so 'improvements' - our aka suggestion box.

    A couple of my thoughts:

Have the same capabilities in both the dashboard as in the app. For instance when you go into performance on the app and see an outlier with one of your clubs, clicking on it takes you to the round/hole so you can correct if needed. That feature doesn't exist in the dashboard.

I'd love to have a 'notes' section associated with a round. I have been experimenting with my driver (settings and shafts) and it'd be neat to capture the specific info so I could go back to it in the future. Same thing for weather conditions, i.e. extreme cold or very high winds. Each of those obviously affecting specific club performance.

    Anyone have other recommendations?

    We certainly do.

In terms of the dashboard there is a big update coming soon. It will add a lot of mobile features to the dashboard but also retain some of the dashboard features which utilize a bigger screen.

On the notes section, this has been discussed but I am unsure where it is in the development plan.

Keep the recommendations coming, we love to read all feedback and definitely take suggestions into account when developing new features.

yup =  labels for the shots/clubs. When you enlarge the hole - the label currently stays the same size treadles if you maximize or minimize the hole overview.

Also do you automatically push firmware and App versions? It would be nice to know if we're running the current versions for both.

    Thx\

    Tony

Tony will feed the labels back to our dev team.

We do automatically push versions, but here are the latest:

    iOS app - 2.9.17
    Android app - 3.8.0
    V3 Firmware - 2.4.0

I cannot compare Shotscope V3 to others, but I can relate what I believe to be its strengths and weaknesses.

Shotscope works best on full-swing shots. The aggregate stats are very insightful, both for length and dispersion. But... one must be sure to tag shots as "positional" when, for example, one punches a 4-iron from under trees into the fairway or else that shot can erode the full swing 4-iron stats.

One should be diligent entering the number of putts. And even then, much post-round editing may be needed to reflect distance and direction of putts. I find it more trouble than it is worth so ignore putting stats excepts for gross number of putts per hole. I do not need Shotscope to tell me I stink!

On course the watch is useful. Its yardage will differ from partners phones by 2-3%, but I believe the Shotscope is more accurate. That said, some phone apps give more intuitive depictions of trouble (water, traps, etc.). The new layup numbers are useful.

Shotscope club RF buttons are a bit fragile. They break off (for me) maybe one every 20 rounds. I now epoxy them to the butt of each club and when I need to regrip, I will need new buttons. But the price is reasonable.

The aggregate stats are the most useful. The "Performance Distance" figures toss out obvious mis-hits for each clubs yardage stats. (Note to Shotscope: It would be instructive to know what percentage of each clubs strikes are tossed out for Performance Distance. IOW, how many mis-hits do I hit?).

Overall, I am very happy with Shotscope V3. For $250 this holiday ( Practical Golf), I endorse it.

I can help with your question on Performance Average Distance. The purpose of P-Avg is to provide a distance of a good swing and good strike. So whilst I can't tell you the exact algorithm we probably remove around 70% of shots to provide that distance. Obviously the more rounds you play the more accurate it becomes.

    Gavin,

Nice to see you here. If you follow this thread from the beginning as well as the ARRCOS vs. Shotscope thread I think you'll find lots of great ideas for upcoming versions. A few recommendations/questions.

    - I have 2 sets of clubs - one in Florida (with SS tags) the other in Ohio. (no tags). Since I primarily use the app, given I don't want to clutter up the screen, should I just buy a second set of tags amd set up 2 different accounts?

    - I'd like to have the ability to enlarge the labels along with the zoom feature for individual holes.

    - Is there a way to export the data to a program like excel?

    Thx

    Hey Tony,

You could set up a second account with another set of tags, or presuming you are in one place for a period of time, set up your bag and then switch active bag when you move location. We are looking at how to improve this feature as we realize this is an issue for some users.

I am not sure what you mean by labels? Labels on the shot?

There isn't mainly because we calculate on the fly all of your data, which allows us to always optimize our course mapping, so it would be extremely difficult to export.

    Best

  7. Hey all, just to let you know the team at Shot Scope follow the user group closely and it is great feedback/discussion.

I will chip in with answers to various questions as I can. Tag me, if you think I can shed some light.

If there is an individual or account specific question best to get in touch with our support team, they are much quicker, smarter and will give better advice than I can.
