  1. Welcome from a fellow security nerd! I've wondered if my love of puzzles and patterns which connects so clearly to cybersecurity also drives my interests in golf. I'm curious if you see any connection between the two on your end. Welcome again!
  2. A weird and mildly gross rule of thumb for home ownership that hasn't disappointed yet - just buy new toilet lids and don't bother trying to clean what you inherit. I don't know what the manufacturing process is for toilet lids, but they invariably have some porous spots that soak up heaven-knows-what. No amount of scrubbing will make that stuff go away. Remove the old lid, clean the toilet before reinstall, and you will feel much better about your bathroom cleanliness!
  3. This hasn't worked for me yet. My wife said it's fine to play but my boss said "get back to work and stop calling me honey or you're fired." Guess I'll keep trying!
  4. Cut: +3 Top Amateur: Christo Lamprecht This will be entirely unnecessary as I am planning on being the top of the bell curve here, but rules are rules! Good luck everyone!
  5. Thanks for dropping this in here. I've spent the better part of several weeks along with a smarter-than-I colleague playing with some club performance data to see if we can evaluate the validity of some AI claims with the proverbial cold, hard data. One of the early lessons from this thread for me was not to post any half-complete stories, so I'm holding off until the work is fully baked. More to come soon on this front! I do think the TRUEGolfFit was an early instantiation of what people would think of if they were to try an imagine an "AI Golf Fitting". I think the cloud-enabled launch monitors have a wealth of data available to them that would facilitate some VERY interesting experiments. If anyone has an in to Rapsodo or Trackman's user data lakes, please let me know .
  6. My neighbor has this bag and absolutely loves it. Unprompted, he said "everyone who sees this bag asks me 'why would you spend that much money on a BAG?!' Then they test drive it for a round, and they never ask me again." If I wasn't so attached to my 14-way Taylormade cart bag, Ghost would probably be in my shopping cart. Fortunately for my wallet, this will have to wait for a future season.
  7. 2024 Most Wanted releasing? I've been sitting on a data-analysis post waiting for the latest drop! It's usually in February as far as I remember, and I'm jonesing for the post to drop!
  8. @CFreddie and I are twins this week. Great minds think alike, fools seldom differ. I guess we'll see which of the two we are by Sunday!
  9. Second this! Arrowhead is tough to beat in my mind for value at a public course. St Andrews is also a go-to, as is Prairie Landing (which sits at the end of an executive airport for you aviation nerds). Also, Geneva National just north of us in Wisconsin just renovated their group cottages. Add this to your future midwest group outing plans!
  10. Primarily an indoor CCE user here: my garage floor is finished with a commercial-grade product (basically epoxy with some color flecks). One downside to the CCE is it slides under my feet over time as I'm hitting, even if I butt one side up against a wall or concrete step. I've thought about gluing some kind of tacky substance on the bottom to increase its grip to the floor, but it hasn't been annoying enough to take action. I have left it outside in the past, and my only comment would be that the material that allows it to hold a tee also seems to hold a TREMENDOUS amount of water if it rains. I left it out in a storm once and I could barely lift the thing to flip and drain it. Maybe my desk-jockey arms are weak, but it was bad enough that I never leave it out anymore. Hope that helps!
  11. Pour one out for Beeks, @cciciora13, @CFreddie, Jnoble89, KoohFloppinonem, MrGolf, @Pettitt95, and @Placasse61 folks!
  12. If you're in the western burbs, go break them in at Kishwaukee in DeKalb. The running joke, as far as I recall, is that the course might as well be called Sub 90 with how many Sub 70 staff and club users call Kishwaukee home. Then if you don't like the clubs, you can complain directly to the folks who built them for you!
  13. Fantastic! Will a right-hand glove for us lefties be an option? Edit: helps if I click the sign up link and read, eh? I am very, very tired today
  14. Congrats to you three, and great work on driving new content and traffic to the forums! Throwing my hat into the @GolfSpy_KFT guessing ring: Kick Fight Tackle Potassium Fluoride Titanium (you weird chemist, you!) Keep F'ing Talking Knees Flow Through Knuckles Face Target Can't Spell Good
  15. Quick update here - I was able to connect with Gravity Caddy last week. I haven't heard back with any shipping confirmation or tracking information. I'll keep an eye out for unexpected packages and update if I hear anything else!
  16. Greetings from near the bottom! What a doozy of a day - hopefully we'll see some separation tomorrow in the field.
  17. Welcome @fezzerino! Assuming you’re with United, but I won’t hold your feet to the fire there . I think you’ll find a good group, and a growing number, of Chicagoland members here.
  18. Check out the Mistwood Golf Dome in Bolingbrook. I'm not sure if toptracer would interfere with any testing of your own, but its indoors at least!
  19. This the same Cutler you're talking about? I'm all about recognizing talent when we talk about "bests", so long as we also recognize effort, attitude, and results. I'd pick Jim McMahon in that time frame but "who was the biggest wasted talent" isn't a particularly fun topic for me. Unless we're talking about the Lions. Then we have PLENTY of material to chat about .
  20. Guessing here, but on the RYP page, the banner message says "You pick 5 PGA players for each tournament. You will receive the winnings and the FedEx points of the players you picked." The rank on the leaderboard is based off of cumulative under-par, not FedEx points or winnings though. That might be the source of confusion. On a different note for anyone who cares / just to stir the pot , here's the staff rankings as of week 2. A fun subplot to keep track of!
  21. To say this is unexpected would be an incredible understatement. First off, welcome to MGS and thank you for being receptive to feedback. I truly believe companies that don’t shy away from constructive criticism will outlast their peers who don’t. Major kudos for identifying this thread and for the direct engagement – some other OEMs could take a lesson from you all there! Second, I appreciate the generosity in offering the Jumbo Caddy. As someone who has small business owners in the family, I recognize it’s not a trivial cost. I’ll take you up on the offer, and re-review it along with comparisons between versions with the same rigor and independence that would be expected of an official forum test. As @GolfSpy_APH(our Forum Director) can probably attest to at this point, I am nothing if not thorough. At a glance, I see that the Jumbo is targeted toward commercial or professional use so my perspective may be outside your target demographic. I can’t make any promises, but I’ll do my best to take it to a few local pros and get reactions from those who may best benefit from the Jumbo version. I will reach out via email (with some proof of my identify on MGS) for next steps. To the forum: I’ll keep you updated throughout the process! Again, thanks and welcome to the forum @Gravity Caddy Canada.
  22. Fantastic write up, and a similar story for me today with my Cobra event. I saw +7 yards and maybe 200 RPM less than my gamer, but with a new push miss added to the dispersion. The fitter said that he was much more excited about the Taylormade and Callaway club this year, having already demo'd all of the available options. Looks like a potential down year for Cobra - bummer!
  23. Auto return putting mat at Menards for $29.99. https://www.menards.com/main/grocery-home/toys/activity-pretend-play-toys/golf-green-auto-return-putting-mat/b097s7jm4l/p-1642874308358991-c-12327.htm
  24. Good morning all. Woke up to this view on the security cameras with a whole day of it to go: Stay safe out there fellow midwesterners!
