  1. I bought the Rapsodo MLM2Pro when it first arrived on the scene to use at the range. Then I turned a small spare bedroom into a simulator but did not have enough room to use the MLM2Pro. So I bought a SkyTrak+ since it didnt need to be behind the ball. I also bought a PRGR due to starting Stack Speed Training. The Rapsodo then upgraded to where it can do swing speeds without using a ball and I seem to have enough room behind my swing area for it to capture adequate swing speeds. So I stopped using the PRGR and will sell that soon.

  2. Went to try out some drivers because I just love trying the new stuff. Had the TSR2 with ventus shaft previous to the fitting and didnt plan on getting anything new. After trying most of the major brands’ new driver, the fittter handed me the Ping 430 LST…smh. It was going 25-30 yards longer and way better dispersion than any other new club and my current TSR2. Sooooooo, I will be gaming the Ping 430 LST with the VA composites SYNYSTR shaft this season!! Love it so far!!!

Ok so after spending 30 minutes on the practice green I have two observations from my new shaft.  The first is instant feedback when not striking the ball on the sweet spot. Secondly a much firmer feel with the TPT vs the Accra.  I think I'm in love but we'll see after I get it on the course tomorrow. 😍

Awesome!! Guaranteed you’d love it!! Enjoy!!

I swing a touch faster than you, but I went into the TM Stealth 2+ 3 wood, and the TSr3 5wood.

3 wood shaft standard lengths have become way too long. I play my 3 wood about an inch shorter, maybe maybe 1.5” than standard length. Massive difference in control. Both my woods have different shafts though for different purposes.

One thing maybe to suggest is learning and buying your longest wood for hitting off the deck. Hitting off the tee versus the fairway changes the swing dynamics slightly and woods tend to require your swing to be tight.

I also just sold my TSi2 Hybrid with the HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX in favour of the TSr3 5 wood. That shaft did not translate well into my 3 or 5 wood. Originally my TM came with that shaft, has ventus black now.  Titleist went into a Graphite Design AD-DI. The shaft fitting is important, with the amount of adjustability you get with modern woods I’d argue the head is less important. Hope something here helps you out

I couldnt agree more! Just echoing this...finding the shaft for my woods (and hybrids) has completely improved my control with these clubs!!  It took some time and money (and being honest with myself about my swing limitations with 3 woods, lol), but finally comfortable with my setup of paradym super hybrid 2h (245 yds), TSR2 4 wood(230 yds), TSR2 5 wood (220-225 yds), u505 2i (225 yds), and TSR3 3h (215-220 yds). I dont have all these clubs in the bag at one time though.

  5. I kind of had the same problem with 3 woods myself. Couldnt hit them, would buy the "newest, most forgiving" and it never worked out. Actually didnt even carry any woods (other than driver) for a while, just hybrids. Decided to get fit for a TSR2 4 wood with Titleist. Love my TSR2 4 wood now. Loved it so much I got a TSR2 5 wood too (I dont usually carry the 5 wood in the bag though). Also got the callaway paradym super hybrid in a 2hybrid (dialed it down a degree as well to mimic a 3 wood). Super hybrid is very easy to hit and I get the distance of a 3 wood and it is my go to club on par 5s out the rough or fairway. I use the TSR 4 wood out the fairway and off the tee. I do want to mention that I think the shaft is really important for all these clubs!! I got fitted into all my shafts, I ended buying them on ebay/facebook/2ndswing to save a few dollars though as I got fitted into premium Ventus shafts (love them though). I know you cant swing a club right now, but I dont think it will matter what head you buy, but when able get fitted for the shaft you need/like.

  6. The cost of shipping the putter to Oregon was pricey from Illinois, I think another $50-$60.

Thats fantastic!! You definitely want to stick with whatever you are comfortable with. “The grass isnt always greener…” But for me, I was willing to take the chance, that at bare minimum, the TPT wouldnt be any worse than the Accra shaft. I was okay with the “financial loss” if it wasnt better. Luckily it worked out and I am super happy about exploring the unknown!!

  7. I was able to use the TPT shaft in my Meez Max for the first time on the course this past weekend while on vacation in Orlando. I do feel the weight of the putter is definitively more distributed throughout the shaft. I felt like my old Accra shaft most of the weight was near the head of the putter. I like the more even-weighted feel of the TPT waaaaaaaaay more. I do feel like my distance control was a little bit better, which was what I needed personally, as I have a better sense of the impact the putter head will have due to the even-weight. Subjectively, I felt the ball was "softer" off the putter head with the TPT shaft, not sure how to exactly define or describe. I liked the feeling, but some people may describe it as not being able to "feel" the ball when they strike it. I use a very firm ball (Left Dash ProV1x). Overall, I putted well (after the first hole on each course after not going to the practice green at either course) in both rounds. I am okay with the money I spent to reshaft my Meez Max putter. I can see it being worth it for those that like a more evenly weighted shaft and have a few hundred dollars to burn. If you dont have a few hundred dollars to burn, I could see some people complaining about their purchase. In the end, I wouldnt think twice about sticking with the TPT shaft over the Accra shaft. TPT for me!!!

The only system I know of that works with foam balls is Optishot, since it only measures the clubhead.  Foam balls still are loud, but a different sound than real balls.  Some systems might work with almost golf, but I have no idea what they sound like.

Thanks!! I appreciate that input!! Good to know foam balls are still loud. I did not plan to use the foam balls in conjunction with a launch monitor. The foam balls would strictly be for a few early morning swings before the round. I didnt want to wake up the wife and kids, but still wanted to get some real swings in!!

  9. Thanks! I appreciate the link!! I looked at the foam practice balls and will likely get some. I wanted to see if anyone had experience with a particular brand, with that specific brand hitting into a net off a mat, and the amount of noise they have noticed with those particular practice balls. Hopefully someone is in the same scenario as me and has some experience!!

  10. IMG_0666.jpeg.c3c785bd9fa3b101988ad82a547b339b.jpegGood morning everyone! I recently just set up a simulator in an small empty spare bedroom on our 3rd floor using a TrueStrike mat, Spornia net, SkyTrak+ launch monitor, and Ipad mirroring to a TV. I have real golf balls and BirdieBall practice balls. I want to start taking swings before my round, but the bedroom is located over our master bedroom and the sound of hitting a real golf ball or birdie ball is pretty loud. Ive tested it with the doors closed and it is pretty loud even 2 floors below the room. I wanted to see if "The Spies" had recommendations about a silent/quiet practice ball that will make minimal noise when striking with the club and minimal noise when hitting the net (the Spornia net is awesome and doesnt make too much noise regardless). I have very limited ball flight of course, so a practice ball flying 100 yards does not matter to me. The noise factor is of the utmost importance. Thanks for any input!!

ok so initial report after some putting green practice and 9 holes...swing weight of the club is much lighter than my SIK which for sure effected lag putting. HOWEVER feel was FANTASTIC and it was point and shoot as far as the ball going straight off the face. I went back and forth between the SIK and the LAB on the practice green and there is really no doubt the LAB is just more forgiving and has a better roll. I let some of the guys I was playing with try it out and the all remarked the feedback and sound was pleasing. The sound of the face is very "pingy" but the feel is very solid. I couldn't say how much better the TPT is to stock steel yet i will try to roll some at the golf store back to pack next time im down that way and see what i can feel and report back. I was rolling with the thumbs out putting and it worked really well, after awhile i eased my thumbs back down but wasnt putting any pressure on the grip with them. I think its a good drill to start out with a LAB.

UPS delivered my baby back to me with a brand new TPT shaft!! I have the Meez Max, previously had the Accra shaft. Now, it could be the money I paid for it and my mind willing me to say that the TPT shaft is better, but I am definitely SOLD on the TPT shaft. The feel is so much better than the Accra in my opinion. The weighting is more evenly distributed along the putter which gives me a better feel. I felt like the Accra, I could feel the weight of the head of the putter. With the TPT the weighting seems more even despite the increased weight near the head. Ive only rolled a dozen putts on my BirdieBall green, but so far I feel like it was money well spent. I hit the course in a couple days, hopefully it translates for me with better distance control. Obviously with the LAB putter it is point and shoot, but for me it is all about distance control. TPT for the win!!

Niiiiice!! Definitely have had some of my friends adopt this year (much to my haste as their putting/scores will improve, lol). But I just got the email this morning from LAB that my baby is on her way back via UPS!! She will have a brand new TPT shaft!! I will report back soon with my critique as I previously had the Accra shaft on the Meez Max. But as of now, the countdown begins til she comes home!!
