I've been fortunate to play several bucket list courses: all of Bandon, Pebble, Pine Valley, Old Head, St. Andrews, several other greats in Scotland and Ireland. But there's one still left that is the no question, drop everything and go play. 

Mine bucket list would be-
1. Augusta
2. St Andrews
3. Pebble Beach
4. Muirfield
5. Latrobe CC

Too true and the reality is that a lot of us can’t, but it never hurts to dream. Or the next best thing, play some of these epic courses on a Golf simulator.  Not the same to actually playing, but sure can be a lot of fun. 

All solid choices. When I moved to Long Island I played all of those courses in about a three week stretch. Best month of golf ever.

Besides Augusta it is the Old Course for me. Just to stay there for a few days and take in the history would be a great addition to the golf. 

Sure is, it hit 50* today with rain, hoping to get out in the next 2 days with rain stopping and supposed to mid 50s, cant wait to hear how your hitting the new sticks.

Love to hit stingers with a driving iron, they go forever! Nice club.

The company I used to work for years ago would take our department there for our yearly picnic. If you get the chance to play it, you won't be disappointed.

I did a Heavy putter build as well but it was a bit excessive.

Par for 9 holes is 30. Next time I'm planning to play an 18-holer. I want to see how consistent I can be with my driver. 
Also, I think I read somewhere that if I play five times, I can get a bag tag, so I'm just having fun with this gamification. 

Date 01/23/2024 Course Name Key West Golf Club Gross Score 84 Course Handicap 13 Gross Strokes over/under par 14 Net Score to Par 1 Net Score 71 Net Birdies or better 4 Longest Drive 197 SIM Round? For some reason, it's been windier this winter than previous years.  Today, we had 25 mph sustained with gusts to 30+ mph.  It was also a cloudy day, again unusual for this time of year.  I had a marginal front (44) but a solid back (40).  

I missed only two fairways all day.  On the 10th, I missed it by 6 inches and on 11, I missed it by three feet (into a fairway bunker).  For both holes, I recovered nicely, hit good approach shots and one putted for pars.  On the front, I did have a water ball on a poor 8 iron into the only par 5 on the front.  However, I chipped it close and made the putt to salvage a bogey.  One three putt was justified on the 6th hole.  The green slopes pretty hard back to front and the pin was in the front.  I was in the back 41 feet away. I putted it past the hole by 10 ft. and missed the comeback putt.  
I had ten one putt greens along with six up and downs for par.  The greens in regulation (0%) should have been higher as several approach shots came up just short.  Sometimes a solid up and down to save a bogey (especially playing a modified Stapleford system) can feel like par.  I bladed my third shot on the second hole over the green and was faced hitting on a hill down to a back pin tucked in the back.  I flopped it up and made the putt for a bogey.  On our longest par three, I pushed my tee shot right into a penalty area.  Luckily I had an opening and punched it to the green fringe.  A nice chip and one putt completed an unlikely bogey.  It was like stealing a point.
I'm hoping to build on the back nine success for Thursday.  We'll have to see!

Date 01/24/2024 Course Name Bent Creek GC Gross Score 72 Course Handicap 4 Gross Strokes over/under par 1 Net Score to Par -3 Net Score 68 Net Birdies or better 5 Longest Drive 232 SIM Round? Good round with short game, plus one hole where I topped my tee shot, but recovered with a 190 yd 4 wood to save par.  Kind of how the way the day went.
