  1. I threw in a UST LIN-Q Gunmetal into a Cobra head for my last round and this was my pattern for the entire day. I was quite impressed to say the least.
  2. All the players are going to do is hire PR firms to run all of this for them (if they don't already, which most do).
  3. Got some Ping G425 irons drying up with True Temper Black Gold shafts and BB&F Co. ferrules.
  4. It was more than just the PVD finish being removed. The top line is straighter and the shape is different than retail. My guess is the shape is more symmetrical looking instead of slightly heel biased like the retail version. I'm also wondering if the ball speed is higher on his. Srixon was really trumpeting the rebound face but every review I've seen online, as well as the MGS most wanted testing, they're showing the Srixon fairly low in the pack in terms of ball speed compared to the rest of competition this year.
  5. Now the follow up question is how can we get one at retail?!?
  6. I'v used both of these methods very successfully as well. Rough up the soda can with some sandpaper before cutting it up to give it some texture for adhesion. The European Mizuno tour truck uses a small piece of fishing line in the hosel of all of their iron builds to really create a tight lock so that they can move things around after installation without worrying about it moving on them.
  7. Does anyone have a more in depth comparison of the version of the ZX5 driver he's using vs. the retail model? He's playing the Srixon ZX5 T201 which appears to have a straighter top line, longer hosel and different head shape.
  8. It's definitely more solid feeling and sounds better because it's 303 steel instead of aluminum like the 5.5 was. I liked the 5.5 look but the sound/feel didn't do it for me. Had a weird ting/tock sound, especially on long putts.
  9. So ironically enough, they had 4 of these putters at my Golf Galaxy and every single one of them had a grip that was super crooked. Some were off by a few degrees and one was just so bad it wasn't even close. It look like someone had twisted it in two different directions while it was still drying. I ended up removing the grip with a grip saver tool so that I could put it on straight after I bought it. I love the feel of it but use a claw grip so it's a little skinny for me. I put 6 layers of tape under it when I re-installed it so that it would be fatter and so far I'm liking it.
  10. Did a putter fitting for one of these myself today. I was surprised how much I liked it in the end.
  11. Up for sale is a set of Wishon EQ1-NX single length irons. The set includes 5 iron through GW for a total of 7 clubs. All irons are built to a 37" playing length with the same length of shaft, headweights, lie angle, etc unlike the Cobra's. All clubs are standard loft and standard lie angle. Swing weight is D2. All irons are shafted with premium True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 (stiff) steel shafts and have Sensicore type inserts for vibration dampening and shock absorption. Grips are standard size Golf Pride Tour Velvet ribbed grips. The irons are in excellent condition and have only been hit at the driving range and only played outside on a course for 3 rounds. These are premium quality clubs designed by the best club designer in the business, Tom Wishon! These are by far the best single length clubs that you can buy as they gap perfectly. The irons are difficult to source and even more difficult to find second hand. Online each club retails for about $140/each when built. SOLD More Info: Wishon’s new single length iron design concept EQ1-NX offers same length and high COR low loft iron characteristics while adding many new performance enhancing features to mark a definite step forward in game improvement iron design. Features: Enabled by the new 2-piece hollow body design, the Center of Gravity moves progressively through the set from lowest and most rear located on the #5 iron to highest and most forward located on the GW and SW to achieve more consistent shot shape and shot height for each iron in the set The hollow body design throughout the set increases the MOI of each head by removing all mass from the inside of the head to be distributed all around the CG. The hollow body construction also enables the CG progression and uniform impact sound between the high COR and conventional COR heads in the set Low number irons are better matched with their loft to CG position to achieve preferred shot shape/height and allow a wider range of players to be able to effectively hit the #5 and 6 irons to fly and carry with proper distance gaps Traditional GW and SW profile shapes are combined with milled faces and a custom sole grind make the wedges a great choice even if they were standalone wedges and not part of the single length design
  12. I may be in the minority but I dig the look. Came with a Fujikura Speeder Evo VII and looks even better in person than pictures
  13. Ping has to figure out how to fix the sound. How could they go so far backwards in sound from the g400 series?? I just can't listen to the G425 Max and there are a lot of driver companies making incredible drivers that have figured it out.
  14. Unless you made a type-o, Ping didn't make a g410 LST 5 wood. Only 3 wood.
  15. Check out Continental Golf in Raleigh, NC. Fantastic work and even better prices compared to most places out there.
  16. The steel section is shorter in the red version and it's overall a little lighter and slightly stiffer than the black version.
  17. For Sale: MINT Cobra RAD Speed 9.0* Driver Head Only. Was played 1 round and could pass as brand new. Headcover is included and has never been used. This head is the unique color of Turbulence / Turbo Yellow that is only available as a "custom" order from Cobra. It's a beautiful gloss gray top with navy/volt sole colors instead of the standard black/yellow. Has the stock 12g and 2g weights. I can also include the adapter and wrench if you want it, just let me know after purchase. I LOVE this driver and am only selling because I purchased the Palm Tree Crew edition which has the blue/gold color and just trying to re-coup some of that cost back. SOLD
  18. I was a little disappointed that the distance wasn't quite up there with the best of this year's drivers. In addition, the sound is just not pleasing at all and reminds me of the square driver era.
  19. That article is 3 years old and John Oldenburg is long gone. He quit after a fairly short time at LAGP.
  20. Just so you know, their website has been "under construction" for quite a while now and has nothing to do with Bryson. Something is strange about this company and I don't have the best feeling they're going to be around for the long haul.
