  1. If you read through the thread I don't think you would be out of place no matter how much it's been!
  2. No doubt, you still have to hit the shots, but I figure just knowing the greens is saving me a few strokes a round at a minimum. Have my first "away" round of the year on Sunday so we'll see how I travel soon. Playing Pheasant Acres in Rogers for a 16-man match.
  3. We weren't playing today, but he went from a +4 to a +3. So now instead of getting 10 shots I only get 7. Going to shoot for next Wed and see what happens
  4. I guess three 74's in the last 4 rounds takes a toll on the handicap. Good news is I'm playing some of the best golf I've ever played. Handicap dropped from 5.2 to an all time low for me of 3.8. Bad news is that match play started last week and I now I'm giving up 2 extra strokes I could have gotten in the first round if I had played the match before today.
  5. Played twice this weekend. Sun morning round was brutal. I was snap hooking driver and never felt right. Had one birdie that won a skin but shot a smooth 83 after back to back 74's. Then today all was right again and everything felt good. Went 35-39 for my third 74 in 4 rounds. Good news is that I'm playing great golf (for me) bad news is that handicap is coming way down going into singles and doubles match play Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  6. But if it's the same for both players then what's the difference? Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  7. 15 is a lot, but definitely not insurmountable. I've usually found in net match play whoever shoots their handicap wins. Just depends if you catch them on the upswing or the downswing. I'm a 5.2 (course 6) and my first match is against a buddy who is a +4. I know both our caps are legit so it just depends if I can shoot in the mid-high 70's or if he shoots in the 60's Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  8. Another 85 degrees and single digit wind day. Shot another 74, that's back to back 74's for me which is unheard of. Went 36-38 and was able to keep doubles off the card this time. So good news is that I've been playing well lately, bad news is that it looks like the next handicap revision is going to come out before we start our singles match play matches for this year. I'm going to lose 2 strokes off the bat from where I've been. Let's hope this trend continues or I'm out in the first round.
  9. Finally had great weather today. 80 degrees and 4-5mph wind, it literally doesn't get any better at my course. So I tied my career low round at my course and shot my low round of the year (so far???) 35-39 for a 74. Still had a double and a 3 putt par on the back. 10. Found them on clearance at Walmart for $7 so bought both blue ones they had. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  11. I do think you can play good golf without shooting a good round of golf though. I think the key word is round Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  12. Had our club order me the black/red Hyperflex with BOA and they came in yesterday. I can't believe I've been tying laces like a chump all this time. So found a good deal on the blue/white with BOA and ordered those too. And yes I already have them with laces Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  13. I'll update my Operation: Beat SLDR thread when I have more time, but another new driver on the way and on the monitor it looked very good. Excited to get it out to the course. Callaway Great Big Bertha 9 degree with a Fujikura Speeder Pro XLR8 63 in X-Stiff. Picking up the shaft today or tomorrow and hopefully the head will be here Friday or Sat.
  14. Let me know what you think of it. I have the regular head and it launches pretty high for me, but I'm scared of the fade settings. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  15. No new clubs for me at the moment, but I'll be heading in for a driver fitting soon. I did get a new Mizzy rain jacket two weeks ago and just put in an order for a shirt and 3 pairs of Kentwool socks. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  16. Love my Speedblades, I own 4-GW, but only play the 6i-9i with my current setup. My vote is to try the current grips first. If you like them great, if not you can always swap them later.
  17. I had to put down $50k as a non-refundable pre-order deposit. The really weird part though was that the checkout was through the MGS donation page ...
  18. I've just never been a fan of blades without necks. Something about that double bend shaft straight into a blade just irks me. That said I play a double bend straight into a #7 and have no issues with it. I'm weird
  19. No problem, I get it in my mouth every time!! Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  20. In for a penny, in for a pound. Just picked up an M1 430 head. The quest to beat SLDR is ongoing
  21. Didn't quite realize how big the box is for 500 cups... Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app
  22. Somewhat golf related - Just bought 500 24oz styrofoams cups and 250 black straws to match what our course uses for on-course cocktails. I'm upping my BYOB game this year
  23. I was thinking 3. Gotta hit SLDR for a control Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy mobile app
