  1. I agree. No tournament play. ? My thought was not that Costco would be working this but some "rogue" Tour Pro. But these young guys can't help themselves from posting stuff on social media. I can defiantly see one of these guys/pros posting a pic or a vid of themselves talking about and playing a Ksig when they are at home with their buddies. Who will that be? Your guess would be as good as mine. John Daly? He's Rogue. It will happen? I'd like to see it. Is money everything to these guys? Probably.
  2. I like these smaller more compact designs. Question: what secures the bottom end of the bag? I'm guessing there is some sort of strap. Does your bag remain upright and not shifting from side to side?
  3. I agree. These types of articles, etc. are all over the place these days. I wonder what all the Big Boys have said (demand) to their Tour Pro players regarding the Ksig? You know some of the Pros have tried them out. One of these guys (Tour Pro) will speak out eventually. Who will it be? I can perhaps see one of them actually put one in play during a tournament. Will it happen? When will it happen? Earthquake.
  4. Bosley.... are you confusing the new MG Senior ball to the Ksig? The new MG Senior is non-conforming.
  5. I'm a MG C4 user. In fact I played one on the front 9 today until I pumped it OB for some stupid reason! (switched to a Ksig on the back) The conditions today were very windy and the ball played just fine in all measures. Honestly I think the MG feels just a bit better off my putter than the Ksig. The Ksig is slightly longer all around. Approaches and performance around the green are identical to me with either ball. Currently I'm mostly playing the Ksig because I get 8-10 ---12? more yards with the driver. Irons 5-8 yards.
  6. As a follow up to a post I made yesterday regarding the packaging of the MG Tour C4 I thought I'd add a few of pictures. As you can see the MG balls are packaged in a slightly smaller box. It's flimsy and lightweight. Notice also that the MG's are not individually packaged in sleeves like most balls including the Kirkland. On the back of both boxes there is much info about the ball design - features. The back of Kirkland box also lists various Costco international import and distributor locations. Along the bottom in bold it reads Made In Korea. The MG box has no info about origin but only the company contact info for MG Golf in Irving, TX. As far as overall play-ability of a poured (Titleist-more expensive) vs a TPU (Kirkland-MG cheaper) urethane cover I don't think I can tell the difference. Can you?
  7. SD I have often thought how many testers are the types looking only for a freebe. Thousands by the numbers I see. I also wonder how many people like you mentioned above get the goods and vanish. Sees to me it would serve the community better to select mostly members that have been active here for a long time and have produced quality reviews in the past. That way you eliminate the grab-and-go types.
  8. Going to play today around noon. Suppose to be 77 and windy. Gusts up to 30 MPH. Yesterday it was mostly cloudy and 45. Tomorrow the forecast calls for 63 with wind up to 55 MPH!! Sunday high of 32! Today will probably be it for the weekend.
  9. I still like the C4 a lot and have some in my inventory. In fact I played one last week one day. The K'sig gets the edge due to a little added distance. Otherwise I can't tell a difference performance wise. And... mine don't make eagles for some reason.
  10. Bosley... I have no idea where the MG's are made or who designed them. I don't have any packaging with me at the moment. I doubt there is any detail on the box of where they're mfg'd. I suspect MG Golf buys them in bulk and packages the balls themselves. However, they're shipped in a lightweight (flimsy) box that flips open. The box has the ball logo on it. The box doesn't contain any individual sleeves inside. Just 12 loose balls. I can't explain why the MG's never caught on like the Kirkland. I suppose a lot more golfers know about Costco than MG Golf. In fact I just recently read a post here in the forum where a guy had just discovered MG Golf and their fantastic gloves. I first started buying MG gloves back in the 80's when the company was called Master Grip.
  11. MG Golf sells about the same ball (3-piece) for $20/dz. Probably made at the same factory too. I can play the MG Tour C4 all day everyday. Suits my game just fine. Although the Ksig is a little longer. Who designs these balls? Who cares? Would you not play a Ksig if it were designed by Joe Schmoe.
  12. I say more power to anyone that wants to make golf equipment. I'd never heard of Vision until today. I'm personally hooked on the Kirkland ball. I like everything about it. Even the Signature logo. I like the small alignment mark and the tiny numbers they use. It's classy to me. I personally don't like big advertising logos and such on my golf ball. Don't play logo balls because of that. I've also seen independent testing on the Kirkland ball by MGS. Nobody paid them. The ball holds it own or beats more expensive balls. I'm old school and do not like a yellow or any color ball except white. Perhaps my eyesight will one day dictate I use a high visibility ball. But until then I'll stick with white only. Fancy packaging for golf balls is a waste of money too. If Costco packaged the Kirklands in a plastic bag I'd still buy them. Same with other Big brands. Until the Kirklands are no more I plan to keep playing them.
  13. Nice write up Rev. I'll be looking forward to reading the rest. BTW... I play regularly with a friend that has one of those old giant headed Nicklaus putters like you mentioned you played once. My friend putts great with it and I wish he'd lose it. LOL
  14. Hmmm? Let me think about that Under. Normally I probably would not. But since you're a scratch player (kicking the sh$t out of an old 6 handicapper with no strokes!) and you have me 6 down already on the front alone; I'll have to inform you that there "might" be a penalty assessed after the round. Could even be as much as a 13 strokes! Of course I'm assuming you're not playing a Condor an DQ'd. How else will I win?
  15. Here's the deal with me. Me and the guys I play with play serious and for money. But not huge amounts; but money. And it's fun! I'll be damn as will anyone else in the game allow me or anyone else to compete with an illegal ball. Be it, the MG Senior, Condor, Polaria, etc. In our game that's cheating. However, if you and me go brush it around some afternoon to have a Pepsi afterwards...fine. Go for it. Hell, you don't even have to putt out. I'll give you par on each hole if you like. But, if you want to come play in our game you better not ever get caught cheating or playing illegal equipment.
  16. Received an email this morning from MG golf advertising their new "Senior" ball. Unfortunately, it's non-conforming due to initial velocity. MG claims it's 1.5 clubs longer than a conforming ball. Personally, I'm disappointed they are selling an illegal ball. Senior or no Senior.... I wouldn't buy/play it.
  17. I haven't. But I've seen McCord on the GC hawking it. And you're right... he'll sell anything. I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade (umbrella unfurls) but golf instruction such as this are a dime a dozen on the web. Are they effective. Perhaps for some. Just for the record I'm not a complete hypocrite. I've bought stuff like this in the past. Live and learn. And, I've learned. Just not from these type guys. My suggestion is to find yourself a local instructor you like and can work with. He'll do you more good than any of these "incredible-magic" as seen on TV methods.
  18. Here's my rant.... playing golf again today!
  19. Actually MD I think your goal is very obtainable. Even easy. I've always said (this is not necessarily original thinking) that a higher handicapper can drop 8-10 hcp. points in a hurry with practice and playing. Perhaps a few lessons to make sure your swing fundamentals are working in your favor. But... It's when you decide to go below 10 hcp. where things start getting much harder. Go below 5 hcp. and even harder still. You'll see. This is also predicated on you having decent equipment that fits you reasonably well. Perhaps you can have it checked and adjusted if necessary. Good course management will help too. Play smart. Yes... I think you will get to a 10 hcp. Maybe lower?
  20. I tried to look up Lance Creek but find Lane Creek in Bishop? Is that the one? If so it sure looks nice. BTW... I'm playing tomorrow.
  21. I forgot to post on the 15th. However, my Hcp didn't change. 6.4. I use a calendar year for my season so I still have a little way to go. Good news is I've been playing well lately and will cram a lot of golf in between now and Jan. 1st. So... I still might break 6.
  22. I thought you guys would catch my attempted put down on Titleist. I was joking.
  23. Got my order in early this morning. Hope it's fulfilled. Maybe this time I won't give so many of them away. Heh! Passing thought: Does anyone think this for real? I mean.... yes the ball is very good as I think most of us agree. Do you think this will cause any of the big boys to lower prices? Who's buying all these Kirkland's? Just us here on MGS and the guys over at GolfWRX? Wonder that Dean Snell thinks?
  24. Hold your horses everyone... I just got found a super deal on PV1's through World Wide Golf. They have a fantastic sale going on. You can get a dozen new PV1's for only $39.99 or two dozen for $86.97 including shipping. That's only $3.62/ball. Wow! What a deal. Why play some old warehouse brand ball when you can play what the pros play?
