  5. The biggest thing that had stood out is how simple swing changes could impact the optimum bag setup. Matt had gotten steeper with his swing since he hadn't been practicing much, so his hybrid and fairway wood didn't hit the right gaps anymore: His hybrid was going as far as his 4 iron and his 5 wood was ballooning and losing a ton of distance. I had a similar issue with my driver when I gained a bunch of speed. The standard G410 began spinning too much because of my increased swing speed. My fitter recommended a simple switch to the LST head and that fixed everything. It really is important to understand how the clubs, the swing and the fit all play together and affect each other
  6. I think I need to take some edibles later tonight and re-read this post
  7. Hells Half Acre Perfect 3 wood. Perfect hybrid. Perfect baby cut 9 iron Took 3 really good shots lol
  8. Players used to be able to almost putt out of it, but then the course decided to dig out more underneath to create a lip
  9. That bunker is famously called "The Devil's Asshole" Thankfully, I'm my 3 times playing there, I've never been down there. Did drop a ball in there to see if I could get out. I could not
  10. Short Course Main Course My favorite hole and shot on the course. Had 215 into the wind hit my 4iron to 5ft The result
  11. For me it's both. The function is foremost. It has to be durable and has to stay on the damn club Once I check those two boxes then it becomes about personality. I like head covers that look good and link into my personality or mean something to me.
  12. It was an incredible experience. Had breakfast in the club, then played the short course as our warm up. The short course is 10 replica approach shots from the main course. So awesome. And then played the 18. Rain held off most of the day except for the last 3 holes when it poured Was on fire off the tee but really struggled with my mid irons. Thankfully my wedges and putter were on point
  13. I'm all for healthy debate, but getting on a soapbox and pontificating your views on how OTHERS are able to perceive diffences in golf equipment seems rather.... unproductive
  14. Nice! Here is a direct link to the product page with pictures and descriptions of everything https://sports.dunlop.co.jp/golf/products/searchresult.html?p_keyword=&category_id=wood+iron+utility+wedge+putter&brand_id=srixon
  15. Right!?! So simple and nothing overly prescriptive, but extremely enlightening.
  16. Reading the thread @inner_game_coach really got me to thinking about how far I have come in my mental game. I owe a lot of it to listening to various golf podcasts; particularly those that include insights from Vision54 Some background on Vision54 from their website: Lynn Marriott & Pia Nilsson are co-founders of VISION54, a breakthrough program and golf school based at Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. Lynn and Pia are internationally recognized, are the two highest ranked female instructors in America, and are both regularly featured among Golf Digest's Top 50 Greatest Teachers. I have listened to many podcasts that have included Lynn and Pia but the one that NoLayingUp recently put out focusing on Neil's game really hit the mark for me Of particular interest is when they talk about the fear of going low. I get caught in that trap all of the time. I start off a round hot - one birdie, two birdies. Before I know it I am one or two under after 5 holes or so. Then the self-doubt creeps in. I basically am "waiting" for the other shoe to drop. When is the double coming? Where is my blow up hole? Last offseason I overhauled my mental approach and tried to beat down those demons much like Neil is doing right now. I suggest listening to this podcast and let me know your thoughts below. I think it will make for some interesting discussion!
  17. Haven't purchases a Call of Duty game since the original Modern Warfare 3. Pre-ordered MWII on PS5 and excited to start playing the campaign in a few hours. Been just messing around in GTA Online and enjoying it. Tried to get into a few other games like Hell Let Loose, but not having anyone to squad up with hurts in that game.
  18. I do most of my golf practice (and equipment buying) at Pennington Golf Center. The owners are incredible ,and even though it isn't the closest driving range to me, I prefer to go there to practice. If anyone ever wants to meet there to hit a bucket and then grab a drink afterwards at a local bar, I'd love the company. They also have a great mini golf course which my sons love. My "home courses" are primarily the Mercer County courses -- mainly Mercer Oaks East and West. I love playing all the various public courses in the area (grew up in Somerset County) so very familiar with all of the courses there too.
  19. I know we have a larger mid-atlantic regional thread, but thought it makes sense to have a thread with a smaller regional focus for those of us looking to meet up more regularly. We seem to have more and more from the Central NJ and Easter PA posting on here now but I don't think any of us have ever met or played around together. We can use this threads to talk about more local courses and look for others to play with in our area.
  20. Love me some Neshanic Valley! Regardless of the test, we should meet up for a round somewhere before the weather gets too cold!
  21. Let me know if you want to meet up to get some more data/opinions for your writeups!
  22. @inner_game_coach Make sure you start a thread over in the Intro sub forum (https://forum.mygolfspy.com/forum/60-introduce-yourself-wiyb-whats-in-your-bag/) telling us what is in your bag! You could also add your clubs to your signature!
  23. I have the same general ball position, which is slightly forward of the midpoint of my stance. I used to get very concerned about my setup and how consistent I was, but then I realized in doing that I would lose focus on my line and my pace. I think this video with Tiger Woods is pretty good at explaining my thoughts. There is no wrong way to putt if it works consistently and the RESULTS are repeatable
