I was having a terrible round the other day, and on 17, which is called "the round wrecker" it's a long par 5 with a creek & a pond and an elevated green. I hooked my drive towards the clubhouse..... it hit a tree, (the only thing that saved the clubhouse) I had to punch next shot back onto the fairway. So I'm laying 2 almost to where my drives go. I played in a best ball tournament about 5 years ago with my brother in law and the group that I was in was blaring music...... drove me nuts and I played terrible. Last season my buddy and I were playing our normal Sunday game when we were allowed to play through from some guys in early twenties blaring music. Again played like crap trying to play through. Played in the rain yesterday, shot a 44 on front. Wasn't happy with my play on the Par 5's. There are three on the front. I was 5 over. On the back I just couldn't buy a putt. I made par on my nemesis, so I believe that the Golf Gods evened the score. I shot a 50 on the back. Still getting used to my new irons. Don't have them dialed in yet. Update from this tester: I was really striping it down the fairway lately with Mizzy, I've closed the gap on driving distance with my golf partner. At beginning of season my driver had regressed to a 190 yard swooping slice. That I had no confidence whatsoever. With a slight adjustment and my trusty Mizuno, I was averaging 243 the other day. Shot an 84 on an executive course, just kept finding bad luck. I was able to battle back! Drilled one into tree trunk, and lost yardage. Was hitting 3 from 190 out and still saved bogey!
