I've honestly been wondering this since I started watching golf consistently. The pros seem to have the tee go to the 6 o'clock position more often than not. Chemclub's post makes a lot of sense that many factors would affect where the tee flips to. Imo if the driver face makes contact higher on the tee it would flex/dig into the ground more so when it pushes back it would fly backwards, whereas lower on the tee would push it forward.
