  1. Just ordered an evnroll er7. Have been wanting to try a mallet for a while and pair that with how good it felt. I couldn't resist when I found it new for about $250 Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  2. You might be right about it being a bit heavy. I've added a counterbalance grip which only made it heavier. I mark my ball on intended line so starting on my intended alignment isn't a huge issue. If anything I line up a bit to the left but distance control is definitely my main issue. I think I'm getting wrapped up in everything I'm hearing about it. My current putter is fitted to loft and lie but nothing much else. Maybe I try getting something more in depth and see what happens. Appreciate the advice Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  3. I tend to hit a good amount of greens per round but find that my distance to pin is definitely pretty far. Maybe 40-45 ft if I'm guessing. I probably have 2 or 3 three putts per round. It's usually just misjudging the distance and hitting it 8 - 10 ft passed the hole. Really I just need to do more distance control drills. Thanks for helping me get a clear mind on the real issue. Which as usual is me. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  4. I thought I read on here that they didn't have Lefty options?
  5. I've been interested in trying a mallet for the past few seasons and this one is one of the first that really looked good to my eye after hitting at GG. Even though I don't struggle majorly with alignment, it couldn't hurt. The major thing I'm interested in is the distance control and gear effect that the putter has been said assist with. Putting has always been my major problem. My handicap seems to be inching its way up due to less play, and having 33-34 putts per round certainly isn't helping me.
  6. Have the Evnroll ER7 added to cart, unsure i can justify. I have found it a bit cheaper for new at $320, but that's still a lot of coin. Thoughts?
  7. What type of hybrid did you end up going with? Edit: Nevermind - I read your clubs in signature.
  8. Thinking about more clubs than I should. Close to pulling the trigger on three specific ones. The Evnroll ER7, Ping G400 LST, and a hybrid of some sort to replace my driving iron. At first glance you'd think I'm following the most wanted but these were some of the last clubs I thought I'd like. I hit the ping before the testing came out and I had never so much looked or been interested in ping clubs for some reason. My dispersion was so much tighter and the forgiveness seemed much more than my current M2. Next with the evnroll, since I'm a lefty I've not really gotten much chance to try them out. However since golf galaxy recently got them in stock got to hit a few. I've usually preferred a blade style but hitting a couple putts with the ER7, it just fit my eye really well and gave me more confidence when putting. Lastly looking to go back to a hybrid as the driving iron tends to be less offline but my distance seems to have too much dispersion. L Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  9. Played today and still not quite in form. Driver has been big issue and was a bit better today. Biggest issue was pitching/chipping and putting. Putting is usually not great but all other parts of short game are usually better. Just need to keep at it. Had 3 holes with 3 putts so certainly didn't help. Ended with 81 but need to tighten it all up. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  10. My timing has been off with my driver and 2 iron so really concentrating on getting that straight. Seems like when I take about a 90% backswing, it really allows me to fire through and everything is in sync. Hopefully it continues as i ended the range hitting about 20 in a row to a 20 yd window on the range with my driver. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  11. Golfing tomorrow. Of course it's been 65-70 through the week and now that the weekend is here it's 55. Oh well, still get to be on the golf course. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  12. im the same way. I was a baseball player growing up and my dad made me a lefty since most of the pitching is right handed. Makes it much easier to hit the curve. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  13. Down in Florida on a family vacation. Was able to get out for 18 today. First round of the year and you could tell. Really didn't score well at all and had more than my share of balls in the water. Also they had the course in tourney conditions so that's my excuse. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  14. I have really enjoyed reading all of the reviews here. The one thing that I see continually popping up is that the evnroll has been invoking more confidence in your putting. I've never been a great putter and usually have a couple three putts per round and average around 31-32 putts. Even though I'm around a 5 handicap I rarely birdie that many holes. Average about one a round. I hit a lot of greens in reg but distance to hole sometimes is lengthy. I've had a Scotty Cameron pro platinum in the bag about 8 years and would be interested in the evnroll but what I struggle with is that the company does not have many options for left handers like myself. I get that we are a small amount but I don't understand how any kind of traditional blade putter isn't available. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  15. I'll have to consider that. However, it's nice to be able to chat with who I'm playing with, so taking that approach could deter that quite a bit as a lot of the conversation is had in the cart. Appreciate the recommendation.
  16. I love to walk but I find that I'm using GolfNow for the most part and the cart is typically included. I do find that I think my way more around the course and play more strategically when I'm walking. Most of the guys I play with tend to prefer to just ride. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  17. Got out for a range session yesterday. Trying to work out some kinks with the driver. Still was only 37 degrees here in Indiana so not quite the spring conditions I'm looking for. Did play a par 3 on Wednesday in 20 mph winds and it was snowing for a while. Managed a 3 over par round which I was pleased with. Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy
  18. I think feel is a larger indicator of what is correct, although I have seen that I tend to use less hands/wrist when I have a larger grip. Because of that I've always gone with a midsize in my wedges. If your miss is a draw, I think someone would benefit from a larger grip to help combat that a bit. Not saying it would eliminate, but could lessen the big miss.
  19. It's been a pretty heavy start to the season and I haven't even been able to play a round yet. Bought new irons, replaced my wedges. Put nippon shafts in the wedges. Liked them for irons too but was hitting the dg amt's better. Bought a like new M2 from global golf for 130. Also several new polos shorts and new pair of golf shoes Nike lc vapor 2 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Great points. You are correct about the approval but I didn't want it to come to a situation where the buyer could claim something else and just really didn't want to go down that rabbit hole. On to the next and I'll have to look into the forums. I've thought about that on watches but for some reason have not with golf clubs. Thanks for the idea. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Quick Rant - Buying new irons this year and very excited for that. As most of you know the trade in value is always weak so I've usually just gone to Ebay to sell my old clubs. I looked up comparables and priced mine at what I thought was fair and would gain me a small profit. Low and behold I accept an offer and all is well and good except the buyer cancels his order. I did not know this was even possible on eBay. My thought is if you make the offer you should have to stick with the purchase. Not really end of the world, but would have been nice to be done with it.
