So I’ve always wanted this driver since it came out and just never pulled the trigger or found one in decent shape as of recently. So when this popped up on a recent eBay search I jumped all over it. Still in plastic makes me wonder if I should even game this thing or keep it till it becomes a better collectors item. Current gamer is a Ping g410lst, the only reason I’ve wanted to change this comes down to shape. I am very sensitive to the shape of a club and is almost the sole factor I play what I play. I don’t think it his club will be longer by any stretch, but im hoping I enjoy the look from address and makes me more consistent in terms of left to right dispersion. What do ya think?

So I played my first tournament and had a great time, played pretty good and look forward to more of them. But this was a shocking experience at the end of the round. When we finished, we’re totaling and signing score cards in the parking lot. We finished up and went our separate ways. The kid I was playing with unloaded his clubs from the cart and said goodbye. He was a young kid who played for a small college a few hours away. He was a good player although he didn’t have a great round. When I went to park the cart I noticed he left a golf ball in the cart, I went to look for him but I think he’s already left. I dropped my clubs in my car and went to put the ball in my bag and what did I discover…. The ball was caked in Vaseline! My jaw hit the floor. This kid didn’t need to cheat, he was a good player. I am a newbie to tournaments but I showed the cart barn guys and they knew exactly what it was when I showed them. Both agreed he was cheating and they seemed frustrated but not surprised. One said it is a common occurrence in amateur tournaments. Not what I wanted to find and it made me look at the kid in a completely different light. I never turned him in and I wasn’t gonna go down that road. If he is cheating regularly he will get caught someday. The weirdest thing is, earlier in the round we were talking golf and the topic of Patrick Reed came up. The kid was defending him which hindsight makes me laugh a little.

Awesome, I still game the phenom in my 3 wood and love it. I know the seller you’re talking about and I’ve bought several shafts from him. ✌️ 

I couldn’t find a profile the shaft you currently use. 

In what way? It is a little high but I think it’s been proven that torque only effects feel. I don’t like high torque however for that reason and tend to stick to lower torque shafts. It’s a good shaft though. 

I still vote for aldila phenom in the 50 gram and lite flex. I think someone will be happy with that. If you can’t find it used I believe the kuro kage hbp is the same shaft. It might be worth a look and it’s cheap on golfworks. 

I was poking around in golf shaft reviews website and he has a match for this shaft in regards to EI profile. It’s an older Mitsubishi Bassara GG(?) I’m not familiar with this shaft but here is the profiles side by side. Regardless, here is the profile of that shaft anyways. Cheers

So I didn’t get through all 76 pages of this thread lol, but I wanted to add my 2 cents. I’ve always hit my fairway woods disproportionately longer than any clubs in my bag. I can hit my 3 wood longer than my driver usually (forgiveness does play a factor though) I eventually came to the conclusion it was the shaft I had in my woods. It is the aldila rip phenom. It’s an older shaft but it has a really soft midsection and when I time it right they are canons. Off the tee I’ve hit my 3 wood 284 yards(rollout), that’s the longest I’ve actually tracked it. For an average swing speed player that’s ridiculously far. I’ve always though that was the autoflex secret, an Uber soft midsection, stiff tip and butt. I had one finally put into my old driver and when I got a hold of it I experienced the same results with it. I carried it 295(longest I actually tracked). You may have covered this but have you looked specifically at shafts with that profile? Eve flow is somewhat similar but is more “even” throughout the shaft. Mitsubishi Kuri Kage black hbp is also this profile and can be had new for cheap. Food for thought ✌️ 

Sell it! Haha, I just like flipping stuff when I can. I can’t imagine it being better or significantly better at least than the paradigm. But who knows, it may suit you better but if you can walk away with a free or almost free ventus then I’d be over the moon. 

Well, thanks for the pics on this post everyone. I am most likely gonna order the maltby ts4 gap wedge to go with my Nike vr pro blades, I always prefer an iron instead of a wedge in that slot and I think it will work nicely. I’ll bend it to 52 to match and we’ll see. I’ll update on the build when I do. Cheers

I want to pick up this miura irons they have in there. Just to see how close/legit they are. If I had a little expendable income I would be all over it. 

Watched pee wee’s big adventure last night with my young kids (we only made it about 20minutes).  I was pretty young when it came out, but boy did I love it.  It hit me last night that Tim Burton directed it!  I’m not sure if I ever knew that until last night.
