  1. Well, I can honestly say I'd root for the Wolverines if they are in that group.
  2. Good duel between Kelly Kraft and Jim Herman. Congrats to Herman and his 2nd PGA win. In addition to a nice payday, he gets a two year exemption on the tour and an invitation to the 2020 PGA Championship.
  3. Worse than terrible. Thankfully ND will be there so you'll have a team to root for .
  4. I know it is just a number, but man I have a hard time with tour players shooting scores on the order of 5-7 under each round. This leaderboard looks nuts. My man Dufner shoots -17 and will likely lose by 10 strokes
  5. Tick-tock... tick-tock. Just over a month away from the openers . Poll is suggesting another Alabama vs. Clemson finish... NO, say it ain't so.
  6. Oh well, he's human. How many Guinness Stouts go down in Ireland following this win?
  7. A fairy tale finish for the folks of Ireland. I don't follow Shane Lowry much, but he definitely had it going and I believe seeing Rory not make the cut gave him added motivation. Also nice 3rd place finish for Tony Finau; he keeps improving at these big venues and will hopefully add one to his resume.
  8. Well dang, looks like I missed the best round yet. Had other commitments and could not break loose. A JB vs. BK shootout... that would have been fun to watch.
  9. Well, to the best of my knowledge, MPF is purely a calculation based number - not even robot ball flight data, which, I believe, would make the rating less controversial. Hopefully this coming winter, one of the PING demos will have the BP's available for test.
  10. I'm excited as well...love the Champions Tour and hope to attend more events.
  11. I sure love the look of the forged blades, but none I've tried work for me - just cannot hit consistently. That's kind of my thought here; at what point do these (or lower MPF clubs) become a poor trade off - even for low handicap players?
  12. Agree. One of the announcers mentioned that there are a handful of struggling tour players "wishing away some years" so they can jump on the Champions Tour. Most of these guys still have great games and love the competitive environment - but have simply been in tour purgatory for awhile.
  13. Regarding forged blades in general, and the opposite spectrum of MPF, where do these rank? The i500 forged are a "188", Mizuno MP-18's are "135", and Hogan Ft. Worth's are "90" (WHAAT?). I couldn't find a rating for the BluePrints... how much lower can an iron design go and not enter into the niche market?
  14. Noren or Kisner are my remaining horses. David Duvall at +27... wow! I bet he can't wait to turn 50.
  15. I would love to see that... from the ashes .
  16. So here is the response from PING. I did ask if this was unique to the G410's but that wasn't answered. Yes, this is by design. The wedges in that line are done like our Glide wedges so they provide more spin around the greens. Thank you for playing PING! 17. Shane Lowry muy caliente and getting the locals fired up!! If he can keep this rolling before the foul weather moves in, it could very well be a big advantage going into the final 2 rounds.
  18. I'll check with PING and let you know. Correction - only the PW and UW have the circular mill marks.
  19. That doesn't appear in the photos. My G410's only show the visible milling marks on the 8i-UW... .
  20. "Just Father Time and some procedures I've had over the time. Just the way it's going to be," Woods said. "One of the reasons why I'm playing less tournaments this year is that I can hopefully prolong my career, and be out here for a little bit longer." I think it's more the procedures than father time. He still has one of the fastest swing speeds on tour and is in excellent physical shape. I suspect even when the back isn't hurting, it is always in the back of his mind. I sure hope his desire to set more records does not end with him not playing at all.
  21. Notice how on the higher irons they leave a visible mill finish and the long irons are smooth? When I first got my G410's I thought it was a manufacturing goof... then realized it was just more PING brilliance . I'm interested in seeing your strike zone pattern and how you rate them for mishits. We talked about you and these irons at the NW Spy Meet-up... no pressure.
  22. What irons were you previously playing? I just switched from my PE2's to the G410's. Too early to know if they will help get me into my lifelong goal of a single digit handicap... but thus far I think they are helping.
  23. Welcome from Montana. You've found the best golf site on the interwebz - enjoy the game.
  24. Living in the shadows of The Open, but not completely forgotten is the Barbasol Championship. Good thing there is a time change or this event would get even less love. https://barbasolchampionship.com/ I really enjoy following a handful of these guys; Dufner, Haas, Schniederjans, Vegas, and Toms in particular. I'm rooting for Dufner, but he's got work to do to stay in the hunt. Who ya got?
